I have been enjoying your videos for many months now and continue to be impressed with your skills/abilities and your collection of instruments. I have to admit to seeking out the videos you have done with your Ric and have wondered how you choose which bass to play for a particular song. You get great sounds out of all your basses. Thanks for sharing with us!!!
Wow, thank you! I have to tell you, the Ric is one of my least liked basses, for a lot of reasons that I won't get into now. Most often, I just use the bass I happen to be playing at the time. Once and a while I'll use a particular bass because I think it will suit the song well. I don't tailor my sound to the songs, I just get a sound I'm happy with and go with it. Also, once and a while, a particular bass just doesn't work as well as I'd like - either because of its sound or how I play it, and those are the songs that get the unlisted, alternate versions.
I'm just passing through, but you did an excellent job on that bass, in my humble opinion. 👍 You've got a nice tone here and to my ears, you are very in the pocket and in the groove. After seeing a couple of 'attempts' of playing that bassline here on youtube, you take the cake for this one. Gotta add this video to my 'Learning bass -UA-cam videos' tab, so that I won't loose it. 😋 If, by any chance you've run out of ideas for bass covers, Jamiroquai, my favorite group after the Beatles (of course) has some sweet bass lines on a lot of their songs. They are an acid jazz/funk group.

Thanks!🙏
This great and challenging at the same time. No slapping!! Amazing!!!!!
Thanks Oscar!
Fantastic!
Thanks!
Amazing.
Another great video.
This Spector is beautiful!!
Thank you so very much Gustavo. I’m glad you liked it!
Always loved the bass line to this song! Reminds me a lot of Paul Turner from Jamiroquai (theres a treasure trove of great bass lines)
Very cool! I can hear that.
Real skill there Troy. Very enjoyable to watch 👍

This is simply fantastic so well played thank you!
Thank you very much Gabriel!
Awesome work again mate. Added to my todo list :)
Thanks Bauke! Have at it!
Fantastic tone!
Thank you Trevor, I’m glad you liked it!
OK, this may sound weird, but the part around 2:52 reminds me of the part in Red Lenses @ 3:15.
Not identical, but a similar, at least to me it does.
I can hear it too.
Amazing. Love your covers. Could learn a lot from you
Thank you so much!
Amazing!!
Thanks!!
This is high class, very high class.
Very impressive.
Ruger Gunnarsson would have liked this if he had lived.
Thank you very much.
Best version on UA-cam yet.
Thanks so much!
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
This really made my day! I love this song, and your playing and tone is amazing! Always fun to see your videos. Keep it up :))
Awesome! I’m really glad you liked it. Thanks!
