This video is great! My boyfriend and I are remodeling our downstairs and we've got a half wall made of concrete all along the perimeter walls that we are trying to cap
Did you finish yours? I have the same thing in my basement. I finished part of it about 8 years ago but made a small mistake with the insulation/vapor barrier inside the corner. That created a cold spot and led to minor condensation/mold right in the corner, I just finished ripping it all out... If you don't live where it gets extremely cold (-30-40) I wouldn't worry but if you do make sure there is no uninsulated gap over the concrete behind the knee-wall for the cold air to contact the vapor barrier touching the interior wall.
Can you furnish me with a list of all tools used? I love your vid and trying to do this to the home I just bought. Got a quote and they wanted my arm and legs so i decided DIY will be best.
Do you have any tips on cutting and installing maple caps on half partition walls . I just want to be able to work alone and be precise and come close to perfect finish .
The same procedures but use 3/4" plywood and pay attention to the look of the grain if its going to be stained. A "plain slice" looks better than a rotary cut.
No don't try that. It will look bad. If you don't want to patch nail holes you could pocket hole screw it from the bottom if you have a Kreg jig or glue and clamp it with regular yellow or brown glue like "Titebond" and leave the clamps on until it dries. But patching nail holes is totally acceptable. Watch my video on patching nail holes. ua-cam.com/video/jxWk8XLXEX0/v-deo.html

Do you think liquid nails would work if I dont want the pin nail holes?

Too bad you put nails through the top of all that hard work.
They patch up pretty nicely with the right stuff . You should watch my video on patching.
