I'm sorry (not sorry), but this video deserves another comment. This video is absolutely brilliant. I'm only up to 12:20 and I'm just blown away at how well this is put together.
This was GREAT! I just got the new Axe combo for my trx-4 and a flysky! I was confused on how to make it all work. This was awesome. Thank you for this. Using as a guide.
Man I just installed the Axe R2 550 3300 on my TRX4 Defender and the truck flies! If pops Wheelies like crazy! It's a night and day difference the rig is alot more fun now I highly recommend it! I soldered the plug for my light kit directly on the ecs right on top of the battery cables so it has a factory look and I put a Y splitter on one of my channel 1 receiver to install the fan came out great and factory looking. Might upload a video showing my setup
Great video! I’m going to install the Hobbywing Axe 3300kv and ESC. I’m also installing the Traxxas 400 steering servo. Do I need a BEC as well? Thank you
@22:47 - is that red button the new power switch for the truck? I originally thought it was used to program the ESC but now I think I was mistaken. Or does it do both?
No regrets Gee Whiz, faster, better control, no brush worries, overall it made the rig what it’s supposed to be … you won’t be disappointed, let me know how it goes
Im installing the hobbywing fusion 2 in1 motor combo in the trx4 sport Need to connect power for the light kit ! Any tips or how to would help alot any ideas 💡 with out using a battery pack to power the system!

@Ricky's Garage Vibes your video and instructions are the best! Thank you. Just two questions as I don't have the meter with me: are Traxxas lights powered by 11.1V?? You connected directly to the battery. And second please: do you think I can connect the fan to the Traxxas lights connection directly?
The Traxxas lights aren’t connected directly to the battery. The kit comes with a module, they also sell a separate LED Power Supply. The cab light is not from Traxxas and it’s 12v
@@RickysGarageVibes Thanks, I was thinking about connecting the lights module directly to the battery. Seems risky, I read that this connection smoked the module foe some people. Does it work fine for you after a few months? I'm considering connecting the lights module to the receiver, the same as the fan - what do you think?
@@wojciecho the module is 12v, the receiver is only 6v so you can’t connect the module to the receiver. I’ve had no issues connecting the module to the battery. If you’re using the original Traxxas system, you can connect the module to the XL5 TQi (blue)
Great video 😀 I just got that combo but the new version axe 550 r2 3300 but it came without the pinion gear :) should i get the 12t 5mm pinion ? plese help :) sorry for my english

Great choices - no BEC needed just straight to the receiver

Only turns on the truck, I use the app to program the ESC
Would you need a different receiver after replacing the tqi
Great vid my RC friend 👍 that was the first thing I did b4 I even drove it was put a Protek 370tbl servo and hobbywing axe 2700kv... such a beast
Great minds 💡 thanks Sean!
Hello, how are you. Can I put the battery 11.1..replace the battery 7.4. for the car. Will the car be affected.. Thanks..
wat do you need a difrent controler or it can stay the same ????????
Of course you can use the controller it comes with
My brand new trx6 makes tiny electrical noises coming from the motor when i push the trigger. Is that normal?
Hi, how are you liking these changes and how fast does the 6 go now? Im thinking of checking this one out as well

So a quick test with a meter on the motor leads goes a long way towards confirming what the ESC LED [might be] indicating.

Weird I’m using the same motor mount position with the same motor and it doesn’t seem as fast as it should.
The pinion gear size can make a difference
@@RickysGarageVibes what pinion are you using ?
a 12T from Traxxas!
You need the metal traxxas servo horn 👍
Any specific reason for the Traxxas one ..
@@RickysGarageVibes it has better clearance when your suspension is fully compressed

How can i use locking diff with number 4 and 2 speed with other channel?
You have to set the receiver

If you want slower crawling you can go for the 10t or the 14t for more top end speed ... for my type of bashing I go with 12t .. a balance
