Since my 70th birthday, I have been transfused twice, each time with a pint of blood, and each time for valid medical reasons (or so I am assured). The blood was not selected to be from younger people, but hey! What are the odds? I’m now every bit of 72 years old, and no younger for the experience.
I thought if a person get frequent blood transfusions it can increase the risk of rejection and cause graft host disease because of tissue differences. The ABO system isn’t the only blood type system. If a person gets blood transfusions often they have to do more accurate tissue typing because the body will start rejecting the blood if the tissues don’t match.
I met one guy when I lived in CA who claimed this worked. He was nine years younger than me and looked like my older brother. I didn't point it out to him.

The scientist predicted that a novel blood protein was responsible for the rejuvenating results. Then a few years later back in 2016: probably May - July; two separate research groups reported preliminary findings one of which was a Japanese based group and both had successfully identified a protein responsible for the effects. However more research was reported as been needed by the principle investigators.
