Do not say a bad thing about M.A.C.
I've been saving my coins and went in today to my local M.A.C. counter, and OMG! holly grail. Not only have they kept their prices pretty steady throughout the years, but the quality is unpar. I got for the first time Fix + and paired it with loose pigment tan...I LIIIIVE! I got the eyelash primer, my eyelashes were touching my forehead. I got my dearest Ruby Woo, my first lipglass...i wanted it ALL! the quality ...incredible as always. Thank you for doing this tutorial Jacklyn! 💙

I just watched your snap on how much you've changed and I have to say from watching this specific video you seem like you were in a darker place at this time. This is the first video of yours that I ever watched over a year ago, so I just had to come back and watch it again and I am so amazed at how much your channel has grown.. I'm so happy for you! You deserve it, you are absolutely amazing and an inspiration! I can't tell you how many people come up to the counter (I work at MAC in Alabama) asking for specific bundles of products and I just look at them and say.. "You watch Jaclyn Hill don't you" and they immediately start gushing about how much they love you and literally everything you recommend they come and buy. Your influence reaches so far and I am so glad I found your channel last year. Keep it up Jaclyn!

I'm going through and watching your older videos as I've only been watching you for about 6 months or so, and I 'loooooooooooove' your hair dark like this!! You really are one of my favourite gurus to watch because your make up always looks absolutely flawless & you're such a sweetie and so honest and down to earth. I love the eye make up in this video too, stunning! I often watch your videos in the morning while I'm doing my face as your bubbly personality is a great way to start the day!!

I wish that i could actually afford a $23 shadow from MAC! they're so expensive there... The cheapest i've seen was a Masscara in black for $10.27 and thats still a little much for makeup... But these products seem worth the money!! & her makeup is gorgeous!
Online MAC shadows are $10 when you get the magnetic ones for the pallet and $16 for the pots. If you buy a pallet and continue to buy the magnetic ones you'll save a ton of money

I went into MAC in New York when I went to the states a couple of years ago and told the leady I wanted a powder and a blush, I've now got the MSF in Medium plus and blush in warm soul, love them both and have repurchased both.
This hair color is definitely what looks the best on you!! This is your color I love it !!!

I just can't picture you working at Mac. You're so nice!! I was talking to a Mac employee as I was shopping and even he told me that at South Coast Plaza here in CA they have some of the worst customer service he's seen that's why he transferred. >.<

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I own a great lid colour (all that glitters) and I went to the mac store today armed with the names of some of the other colours you used in this tutorial. The mac mua used cork and swiss chocolate on me to complement all that glitters, which were amazing. I added brulee to the mix for my brow bone and handwritten to smoke out the corners a bit and it was gorgeous. I own carbon and smolder as well so I am set. I also tried Japanese Maple on your recommendation and it was such a perfect shade for me. It complemented my skin tone and eye makeup beautifully so I got that too. The mua also matched me up to a mac foundation and I found out I am nc15 so when my existing non-mac foundation (which I'm not completely happy with) is finished I'm going to switch. On the way out of the mall I popped into sephora and one of the mua told me she loved my eye makeup and wanted to know what I had used. This is such a good, well put together look that I can do for every day - I can't thank you enough!

So I really need to stop watching your videos..I have 4 Sigma brushes on the way and multiple Mac products even though I will be able to get a Pro card in a few weeks. I just received 15 Mac shadows you recommended because Im building my MUA kit and I cant stop staring at them and loving my new Mac neutral collection. You, Goss and Kandee are the only "Gurus" who I actually study your tutorials and watch over and over again! OK I'll shut up now :)

I feel like you only talk about makeup for lighter skin tones. What about darker girls?
HeyitsBee Why not subscribe to someone with that skin tone then? How can she talk about a skintone that she isn't? Yes she can touch on some points but she can't talk about another skin tone like she would her own.
LifeOfCherryJane Because she's a makeup artists she should have an opinion on a wide variety of skin tones... Marlena from makeup Geek talks about different skin tones and she has a medium skin color but her information is helpful for a wide range of skin color. Based on your comment should she only do makeup for women that look like her?
Jee Lio There are many makeup gurus for us WOC... check out Jackie Aina, Nitraab, msroshposh, glamtwinz to name a few... Also Marlena from makeup geek usually gives us options when she's talking about makeup products. I agree that there needs to more suggestions for us. It's understandable though if the guru isn't a professional makeup artist. But Jacklyn Hill worked at MAC for years...... But anyways many of her suggestions would work for us (i'm an NC45)

well she mostly talks about products she uses.....seeing as shes "cough".....white. that should answer your question. Just like a black BG would speak about products geared toward other black women.
I think your foundation looks way too yellow for you in all your videos. Your chest always looks so pink & red. It just doesn't look right. I would try out the warm tones from Mac & see how they work for you. I could be totally wrong though, but I'm trying to give constructive criticism...I would love it if someone helped me correct a makeup mistake I was unaware of; just want to return the favor.
It's not a mistake it's just her lighting and the camera she used to use. Once she got her new camera her foundation looks fine. She knows what she's doing, she worked at MAC and is a wonderful makeup artist. Hope this cleared things up.

I agree that her face is totally yellowed out compared to her neck/chest...could be the lighting but i dont think so I'm a huge fan anyhow ~ She totally knows her stuff!

Your mac starter kit ideas for a basic look is helpful! I went to their website and was totally overwhelmed trying to choose what I need. I live in a small town so ordering online is my only option unless I drive 2 hours to Las Vegas. I hope you do a follow up tutorial on highlighters, bronzers, and other special effects. Thanks for doing these make up tutorials! :)
