    We've found that it helps to not get greedy. Make one pass with the ripper 2 1/2 ' in, then make a second pass in the same slot with the ripper buried. It's overall faster and avoids much of the track spin.

    your 100 percent correct there stephen . the guy operating this 375 is me & the problem here is in worn & sloppy joy stick linkages. what would happen is iff the tractor leaned to a side the worn linkages would activate the steering clutch to the lower side track & i can assure you it was an r-sol to drive like that the problem has been repaired with new linkages. thanks for the post buddy.

      MAX BIRKETT regardless of the manufacturer or the operator. That is hell on a machine for sure.

    D11 is cats biggest dozer a D375 looks more like a D9 or D10 Komat has a much bigger dozer in both the D 475 and the D575 which has over 1100 hp. and the D 11 has about 800 hp if I remember.how can these diffrent machines be compared in this lopsided way.Also its not the machine but the operator that makes the diffrence in my opinion.The 475 would be a more equal match for the D11.If both operators were also of equal ability.

      Carl Delucia you are very right .its who is sitting in the seat that counts. Most operators on these UA-cam channels don’t know how to use a ripper proper

    I've run 375A-6 and D10T in the same pit. I think the Komatsu is a better ripper (yes it is about 5 tons heavier) and the CAT a better pusher. The operator station in the CAT is far superior to the Komatsu. Operator skill plays a bigger part in production than any other factor, though.

      Rod Rankin I think cat fan post this video. Tries to show that cat is stronger than Komatsu but that lied high track it's not good at ripping. It's good at grading and keep motor a way from dirt.

    geographically this quarry is a long long way from where you are.. what we,re in here is solid sandstone & if tried to rip fast you will actually get nothing done except increase the posibility of ripping the arse end out of the tractor..riding the dethrottle hence sloweing down the tractor helps in the boot getting penetration & also aids in preventing track spin which inturn aids in getting traction & also saves energy being wasted & also saves in wear & tear on the walking gear..

    @swn02 komatsu has a electronic shoe slip control thats adjustable. wen track spin is dected it cuts engine revs.but myself & other 375 operators i know turn it off & ride v decelerator like in cats.

    I have read m
    all comments and find somewhat interesting. I have been running dozers now 12 years on crushed limestone stock piles. 2000 tons per hour off of 7 stacker belts. Dozers D9R , D9 t and now a kamatsu D275. The 9r was 575hp 9t 410 hp D275 449 hp. D9r hands down the winner. All new machines when I got them. We have 1778hrs on kamatsu now and the only problem that I can see so far is the transmission, it won't let you work machine hard enough to load blade fully on the grades I deal with nitely. Will load just to slow. Kamatsu more user freindly than the cats. But I have to run hard and fast. Push in slot in second gear. Kamatsu won't do it. D9t will. For a first gear machine D275 better. I work 12 hrs a nite alot of sat as well. My oppinion. Know one builds the right dozer for our application. Need a 60 ton machine, no ripper, dual tilt and 525 usable hp. . Ps 38000hrs on D9r. 28000 hrs on d9t, its gone . Thanx

      The difference in push power can be caused by drive ratios alone. I have worked on Komatsu dozers and I like them. Zero experience with Cat dozers.

    Tough Conditions which even with skilled operators will wear out Running Gear, Sandstone has a high silica content which increases wear in a big way, Its just a part of the job, Wear it out , make profit, mend it end of story

  • @mrbluenun

    It was a surprise to me that the Kamatsu did so well, and as you say showed it has balls. But I would imagine it has to use more fuel (perhaps) and or higher revs to achieve this? Just a thought in a general kind of way as I do not have the spec' of either in front of me and have never touched either!

    Rolling the ripper ahead slightly more after penetration will give the point a better angle to help "lift" the Rock. I run both of these at a coal mine. That is hard rock.

    I wonder why dozers do not have a "ripping" gear. A gear lower than 1st. More power to the tracks less decelerating.

    • @mrlordclaude
      @mrlordclaude 9 років тому +1

      Donald Ulrich I was thinking the same thing, but really there is no need to have a low gear lower than needed to spin the tracks on a very grippy surface. If dozer was 100 tonnes heavier then a lower gear would be of considerable use.... I think :-)

    On ne peut pas comparer, un des bulls peut buter contre un énorme rocher enfoui alors que l'autre n'aura que de la terre à fendre. De plus le soc peut descendre plu ou moins profond.
    Seule une traction au dynamomètre peut indiquer qui tire le plus fort.

  • @kinempaloremkoialor8825
    @kinempaloremkoialor8825 Рік тому

    Un bull de 100 tonnes pour 10 000 ch ne tire ou pousse pas plus fort qu'un de 1000 ch, car c'est le poids qui compte et si avec le 1000 ch la chenillle commence à patiner, elle patinera tout autant avec le 10 000 ch. Et pour arrêter le patinage il faudra alourdir le bull, de dizaines ou centaines de tonnes. Compris ?

    experience is the reason you can't tell how your machine is running.
    for example - you don't know how much rock you ripped, pushed for the day.
    you couldn't tell us how long it takes that 375 to push 200m3 of loose rock 30m
    or even how many passes are required.
    Arrogant Aussi -you don't have the experience to carry an operators lunch box to work.
    just watching you rip was painful
