Yet again very entertaining and useful. Thank you. Well done with your award! I am looking at Catamarans myself and I was wondering what type/size yours is? Is it electric drive and if so, how do you rate this vs diesel? Bon voyage everyone!

Hi, and thanks for following us. Our Catamaran is a 40fts with diesel engines.

Andrew, if you think that cruising boats can use electric drive, like solar and batteries, not diesel electric like trains and ocean liners, then you need to make a lot of studying, before going cruising. Just study the mathematics of the amount of energy storage in batteries and in diesel. Many sailing ships were wrecked on lee shores for lack of an engine in bad weather. Solar power is not available in bad weather. Too many people get sucked into the greenie stupidity.

Don't be so hard ! There is no stupid questions ! I started this adventure 3 years ago and I didn't know anything about anything. And by asking, reading, watching videos, I learnt a lot. And I have already seen hybrid engines and one day we will sail only with electric system from sun and wind. It's just too early, not because of the evolution of electric system but because of politics and business. We already have engines which is working with water ;-)... but petrol business is too important in our world.

I just don't like to see people make bad decisions, because of popular idealism. Secondary school chemistry should be advanced enough to show that water does not work as a fuel, except in the case of heavy water used in hydrogen bombs. The so called demonstrations of using water as a fuel, are frauds, ask any chemist, I'm a retired one.

OK OK... it starts to be too complicated for my poor English ;-)... I just wanted to say there were not stupid questions ;-)

Are you not worried about ciguatera fish poisoning from the Barracuda?

No, there is no ciguatera in this area. We are lucky ;-)
