I love her. Don't know why, somehow I just stumbled into watching Foyle's War. I was lucky enough to live in England in '67-'68, loved every minute of it, even the weather! England still had some similarities to the war years then. 1 was only 19, to me WW2 was ancient history, but it was fresh in the memories of many people there.
The chemistry between Michael Kitchens and Honeysuckle Weeks is brilliant. He, obviously adores her. But, at the same time she exasperates, she amuses him too. Sometimes he looks as though he thinks she needs a swat on the bum with a rolled up newspaper. Other times he wishes he were 30 years younger. lol it's a great show.
I can't agree. The plots gave you a headache by making too much sense, you annoyingly cared about what happened and it was frustratingly interesting. If these qualities make a tv series good, surely they would make all shows like this.
I’m rewatching because I’m recently divorced and fell down the stairs, ankle/ rib and tooth broken. Foyles war is a safe space, an amazing series and long episodes. Honeysuckle is lovely.
Jusus Christ, she's amazing looking, I never realised she has such gorgeous long hair, she looked so plain in Foyle's War, but this shows she's gorgeous
+3rd Millenium Man When Jesus Christ, the fictional character, was supposedly reincarnated, which he most definitely has, imagine what people said when they witnessed him being reborn. They must have been startled, but they couldn't say Jesus Christ when exclaiming. How troubling.
I saw her last year in a play in a tiny theatre in north London. It was an American play and she had to do an American accent - it was atrocious, but her acting was very good. She's more petite than I realised from the television.
But she is listed as 5'6" and appears to be only a bit shorter than Michael Kitchen on the show (though she appears to wear a standard female 2" type heel. She is slim for sure.
The Giant Killers: Honeysuckle Weeks (along with her sister, Perdita) is Welsh only in as much as she was born in Wales but to English parents, soon thereafter living in England and educated there. Her brother, Rollo, was born in England.

Foyle's War was a brilliant series. Michael Kitchen was outstanding in the title role. Funnily enough Honeysuckle did nothing for me in the show , but she is gorgeous here with her hair down .
What do you mean by "she did nothing to you"? If you're talking about her performance why on earth would you mention her appearance? Or do you judge actors by their looks?
@@shougokawada8491 Your post is an oxymoron. My post is clear. Although Honeysuckle is a very good actress. I found her appearance in the show unattractive,. Others on this thread have said they found her cute in Foyles' war. Personally I think Honeysuckle as her self is very attractive as per this appearance. By the way are you so naïve to believe that both both actors and actresses are not judged by their appearance ?
I remember watching her on another TV show and she was so muscular and built up like she was going for a bodybuilding contest it was quite a transformation. Does she have a sister that's on Magnum PI now? They look awfully similar?
@@susu_m It is her..."Murder in Paradise." It's in her filmography as "Mae Harmer." She floored me when I saw her there not too long after Foyle. Man, she was ripped. Hot, hot, hot.
She doesn't have a regional accent. She has a 'class' accent - in her case a very upper middle class English accent, not just RP (Received Pronunciation) but 'posh'. A genuine posh accent is more common amongst older actresses, like Joanna Lumley and the late Diana Rigg. A lot of actresses learn the RP accent in drama schools but Brits can tell the difference.
Craig could be an overwhelming personality but I think she sat there so she could see him better while supporting her back. The skirt was quite tight and the chair faces ahead instead of angled toward him. So she angled herself. It’d be very awkward to face front while turning your head.
Why did this bloke bother to get Honeysuckle on this show ?? He never shuts up so he should just talk to himself. She's just lovely but had to listen to his endless drivel !!
Ferguson's boring flirtation act isn't working with Honeysuckle. He's just wasting his and her time. Honeysuckle has "It" by the ton. I adored her on Fotyles War. Great show, wonderful characters and terribly quietly charming, as is this lady, she of that singular name.
Foyle's War is the best British series ever. Well written, well acted. Such a shame the show has ended for good. Only 28 episodes made.
