GALVESTON COUNTY - JAMAICA BEACH, TEXAS - Tornado Damage off of First Street in Jamaica Beach with a home basically destroyed and debris strewn about after a tornado touched down overnight. We witnessed this tornado in the form of power flashes.

I believe this was the waterspout that developed in the water and it looks like it did in fact make it on land.
This is not Jamaica Beach - it is Bay Harbor. That’s my house.
The first house was probably way too poorly built. Looking like category 4-5 hurricane damage while being only category 1

Research the sea wall and “the great raising” that occurred after the 1900 storm. They raised entire neighborhoods by up to 15 feet , it’s amazing. Unless you are on the west end which is unprotected you are relatively safe from even major hurricanes.

You Texas people better thank God this storm wasn’t a category five because it did more damage than I thought it would do for a Cat 1 Hurricane. You know this is really just beginning of hurricane season so be prepared For the next system.

If a Cat 1 storm badly damages a home the home is junk. Stick built homes should be banned hurricane zones.
Do you not know what a tornado is?
A lot of these homes are old. Many people can't afford a demo and rebuild, so they take their chances.
That destroyed house wasn't CAT1 hurricane damage, it was tornado damage that will be rated on the EF scale.

Every natural disaster there is always someone blaming god for the disaster as a form of punishment. Storms are natural, it is a natural part of our world, and no they are not punishments of any kind. When the earth is ripe for harvest a harvest comes, this isn’t one.
