Kim: Our priority should be to look at the corpse.
Detective: How 'bout I spend 4 hours in a bookshop reading Man From Hjelmdall and Innocences.
🤓📚
Oh, you MUST talk to Joyce about the world! Won't spoil anything, but it's one of my favorite dialogs in the entire game!
I would so love to see the story told from the perspective of Kim. That man has the patience of a saint.
9:43 Worse yet if it literally makes no sense, like killing a "patient zero" of a zombie virus.
I like how you just stayed for several hours in this bookstore.
As one does!
Oh God, I completely missed the Zweihänder "Sturm" and "Drang". Apart from "Zweihänder" being a German word "Sturm und Drang" was a German literary movement. This game! This game!!!
25:00 The Satanic Panic of the 80s even got to my parents for a short while, but thankfully, they were the sort to actually investigate stories like that. They went on to encourage me and my friends to nerd out with some D&D.
Oof, I'm glad your parents had more common sense than most!
Your pronunciation of "Zweihänder" was better than the narrator's. He has a nice voice, but his accent is pretty bad when he tries to speak German. Not meant as criticism, just as an honest observation of a native German speaker.
He butchers pretty much all non-English words in the script. Which is a lot of words.
His french isn't too bad. Speaking other languages is hard!
@@LukaelPlaysThis is a professional production, and the man was paid for his work. I work in broadcasting, and if a voice guy comes in completely unprepared for unfamiliar words and pronunciations, he won’t be invited back.
@@LukaelPlays It certainly is. I have trouble enough myself, although I find languages fascinating (both natural and artificial ones). I always appreciate the effort of people who try to speak my mother tongue. It does not need to be perfect to be understood as a token of politeness.
@@SilentBeutlin If memory serves, this was the first ever voice acting job for this man. I think he's a musician by trade?
I started playing this game now and it’s so much different for me! There’s a lot more hallucinating, and hurting myself
I guess because we must have very different stats? :o
@@LukaelPlaysMust be. I went with the sensitive archetype. I don’t get many encyclopedia blurbs. I do get… other things
Ah, you have seen things I have not due to night exploration. Also our games have already had some big differences, and I am curious how it'll turn out for you. This is good!
A carton contains 10 packs, so, 200 cigarettes in total
That is a lot of cigarettes
Harry kisses Kim on the lips
so true
Like if you’re watching this at 1.75x speed
Lenval Brown has a beautiful voice. But why. Must he read. Every sentence. Like. This.
It does make it a bit hard for me to follow along the narration sometimes, but damn I must sound like a freakin chipmunk at 1.75x
Yeah he's great, but the pausing can be frustrating. I also can definitely hear certain parts where is voice is clearly damaged (from this huge script I assume) and it's hard to listen to.
Awww snap it's the Barnes & Noble part!
Actually, azimuth thing was indeed clear to me...
Same, lol
You might have figured this out by now, but just in case, you can unlock new slots for thoughts by spending a skill point (and that's the only way you get new slots). It's also often useful to keep a few unspent skill points in reserve, so you can bump up particular skills when you need them (you can raise skills mid-conversation, so when you get to a skill check, you can pop into the skills screen and bump up the relevant skill. Also, if you've failed the check before, raising the skill will unlock the check so it can be retried)
i love how excited you got when kim smiled. me too brother, me too...
pffft on wednesdays we wear pink
40:38 I know I only got this one right because Garte had referred to the hole in the fence to the backyard as being "big enough for the Franconigerian cavalry" to fit through. I don't really think you're supposed to know the rest.
There's some good good stuff in the book store. Very excited to see it!
I didn't understand anything about the isolas until I learned about The Pale. If you have an opportunity to learn about The Pale that'll give you some interesting worldbuilding context.
Oh we're gonna learn about the Pale
