Config. Toolbar is the first thing I do... Add the things you think you are going to use and get rid of the things you know you're not going to use. The Places and Recent file trees were bugging me but five seconds into this video I learned how to get rid of them (right click) I kept Devices which is all I use for transferring photos. Great video so far... I support everybody who helps people getting rid of Windows!
Tip for configuring the toolbar... Text under icons... edit text to shortest possible example Show Hidden Files to just Hidden... Saves a ton of space and you can cram way more stuff in the toolbar.
Depending on your use case, rsync can also be a great way to do this. I will make a video about rsync in the future. Using split is awesome though! If you ssh into other servers, you can use fish://user@hostname and split to drag files from local machine to remote machine or from remote machine to remote machine. One of the best features in dolphin!
@@nixnoob Used to use FTP in the '90s when I used to build my own websites. Don't do any of that anymore so I don't need it... Good luck with the videos!.. getting rid of those taskbar previews made my day!..
What version of KDE are you running? I am running 6.1.5 and do not see a breadcrumb option for the location bar. It looks like in previous versions setting the breadcrumb option for the location bar would make it appear on a second line.
@@nixnoob 5.27.5 didn't realize I was that far behind... anyway I don't know what breadcrumb options are but I remember it was something simple like dragging and dropping or adding another toolbar. It has to be doable on a later version I would think.

I transfer photos from my camera in the split view. Works fantastic!

My location bar is full path and on a separate bar below the main toolbar... I can't remember how I did it... heh...

@ try right clicking the location bar and dragging it...
@@nixnoob Config Dolphin/Startup/Show full path in titlebar/ works too... that location bar looks ugly in the main toolbar.
