Few rules incorrect for Blackball. You can have ball in hand after any foul (anywhere behind head string), No call of pocket for 8 ball, ball have to set up in a certain order for the break. Fair play to you though for giving it try. PS we also call a Clearance, Break & Dish or Run Out
@@PhillyFingers There are only 2 rule sets really for comps, Blackball and World Rules (EPA) although there is another set coming in called Supreme Rules which is more like 9 Ball rules ;-)
Interesting to see an English eight-ball video from an American perspective. Most Americans I talk to about pool have never heard of it. But, yeah, as Justin said, pocket calling isn't required on any ball, and, at 1:15, BIH behind the line is perfectly legal in WPA blackball rules if the cue ball is still on the table after a foul by the offending player. The incoming player just has to declare that they're intending to lift the cue ball from where it lies and bringing it to baulk. Otherwise, great guide!

Yes. Just like with American 8 ball I found slight rule changes from pub to pub and bar to bar. Impossible now to document them all.

I appreciate the feedback. Always looking to see what I may be missing as many places have different rules.
@@PhillyFingers I guess that you Americans would call these red and yellow balls "Casino Balls". In the UK, we call these "English Pool balls".
#6 jump shot: if I start from a rail than jumps over, is that a foul also?
Yes that is a foul. But remember many people have their own versions on the rules.
Incorrect rules on number of areas and anyone setting the balls up wrong in the first place sends red flags.
If you pot black pn break, you win
Its called a golden break
In this version no. You don’t win. The black gets spotted and you continue to shoot.
mate that's only 9 ball
@@KevinLam18 no, in 8 ball too its called a golden break
its the same as pool bro
