This is one of my most favorite UA-cam vids. In one place on that special occasion: Fellini and his wonderful Giulietta Masina, Sofia and Marcello. Anyone who loves Italy as much as I do knows how fortunate we are to have the cinematic treasure from them in our lifetimes.

    She was a great actress.
I had the pleasure to live in the times when their movies, both Mr. Fellini's and also Mrs. Masina's were made. But I really wish I lived 10 years earlier, than I had understood more of them.
Thank you to both of you!

Well, you live in a time when you can watch anyone of them any moment you choose. I only saw my first Fellini a few months ago and have seen many now. I saw a season at the cinema for his 100th birthday and then the rest online. The most wonderful films. They seemed more moving that everyone and the times they lived in are gone now.

@@AnyoneCanSee I was about 18 when I watched my first Fellini. It was Amarcord. Nowadays I prefer his works from the 50s and 60s.
Another director I like is Pasolini. I remember a movie where he showed (for me at this time shockingly) how the uneducated and underprivileged multiply, and the educated classes die off. The last scene is in a gypsies camp at night, where we hear the noise of couples creating babies. Surreal.
What a good time we had. What a loss that the US has almost completely taken over the film world.

What a gift they made to us. She was the gift, he wrapped it up in a glorious presentation.

I sometimes wonder if Federico made Guilietta, or if Giulietta made Federico. If he had stopped after La Strada and Cabiria, that would have been enough. Whatever it was that was in those films, it is long lost.

An amazing genius of a director--and Giulietta--what can you say? One of the most insanely gifted actresses in the history of movies.

Such moving statement and Jiulietta was so beautifull. I watched La Strada not too long ago but after the first viewing of the movie, I wasnt sure what to think. But now, I really like it. Great movie.

My friend John, years ago, I believe was visiting Cinecitta in Rome. And happened to get into a conversation with Ms. Masina. (John was fluent in Italian, luckily)..He expressed his wish to meet Mr. Fellini, and casually as that she made the introduction.

Fellini spoke well, it's just heavily accented. He lived in Italy all his life. How is your Italian, by the way?

Martin Scorses said that he had the honour of hearing him, both in english and italian, and that while his points and ideas were well expressed in english, in italian he was something else.
      Grazie maestro Fellini 🇮🇹
