Anche io credo che il discorso fosse stato preparato ma lui è sicuramente in grado di comprendere la lingua data la sua forte esperienza.
The funny part about this is that when Eastwood was cast for "A fistful of dollars", he did not speak Italian, and Sergio Leone did not speak English. I imagine that he picked up the language mainly while shooting the 3 iconic westerns ("A fistful of dollars", "For a few dollars more", and "the good, the bad and the ugly"), and continually improved it from there.

Hundreds of years from now Morricone’s music will still be played; while others of our time will be lost in archives.
So genuinely moved and in tears as if he was a beginner totally taken aback by a prize absolutely unexpected. Someone should tell him that he's a genius: he seems strangely unaware of that.

I think they're pity or apology oscars for not recognizing talents perhaps when they should have. The Departed comes to mind. That film didn't deserve it, but Scorsese did deserve it for Goodfellas.

Still unbelievable that Morricone only got a Honorary Oscar........he is by far,far out the best film composers in film history. On Ones a Upon a Time in The West It was Leone's desire to have the music available and played during filming. Leone had Morricone compose the score before shooting started and would play the music in the background for the actors on set. GENIUS

I was studying Italian at university when this happened, and the next day we asked our instructor "How did Clint Eastwood do?" She laughed and said his Italian was terrible, but now years later I watch this and see that the problem is more that he doesn't know how to translate on the spot. That's a bit of a differ skill, I think.

That is just crazy to think about. It's a piece of classical music on par with the absolute best. His music goes beyond the movie industry, in that regard, to me, he surpasses even the greats of Zimmer and Williams.

My father and I watched "Two Mules for Sister Sarah" today, my father is an old man to be a father and since I was young my father introduced me to all the bang bang spaghetti films that he knows and love, and most of them Ennio was present with his fantastic soundtrack. Ennio is my favorite composer since I was 14, today I am 24 and my father 76, thank God for being my father's son.

Listen to the soundtrack of many of his masterpieces like Once Upon A Time In The West/In America, and many more.
Only because he was foreign. And everyone knows that the oscar committee doesn`t like foreign movie directors or composers.
