My favorite callback/Easter egg is confirmed in the series. This is where you find out the doctor that treated Dr. Fieldstone in season 2 is in fact Roy’s sister. They mention that she was an emergency doctor a few times previously and that’s why Roy always takes care of Phoebe, but it took this episode to find out they’d actually shown her a whole season earlier. I love the callbacks in the show. They are the best of any show I’ve seen.

Nate is actually playing the violin and the piano you hear is by his wife IRL. Don’t laugh at Roy’s writing, he joined Sunderland football club at 9 years old,his education was football.
I love the announcer commentary in the Mexico-Canada match. The voices were Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie of Whose Line. The teacher's name is Leann Bowen and that is the name of a woman on the production staff for the series.

Rebecca’s speech about the super league was really beautiful knowing that was about to happen in English football luckily it failed I’m not a huge fan of football but every time it’s the World Cup I support England the atmosphere and sense of community is always great that’s what makes football great
I think the reason Rupert wanted Rebecca their because he knew she would reject it and he couldn't do it himself. Its established that the only thing Rupert truly loves is soccer. For all his countless (and I meant countless) failings, he genuinely loves the sport and started off as a lower-class fan sneaking into stadiums. He knows what its like to not be able to afford to go to games and this league would lock out even more fans who were like him once. Its why when the one owner said he was in, Rupert asked her specifically what she thought. And she proceeded to tell his story. Then he did what he always does and fucked up their moment. Also the owner that was asked to leave was because he was Russian. Probably wasn't a good look during the Russian invasion of Ukraine to have a likely sanctioned owner involved.
Their continued lack of perception of zoreauxs value is hilarious. They have to show the team being scored on to create drama. He's clearly not a bad keeper. They wouldn't be in the position to previously win the premier League without a good keeper

Imagine my surprise when I saw the name on the credits for E6 (the Amsterdam episode) and found out that Leanne Bowen is a writer for the show! What a great team to give their hard working staff shout outs like that! Loved this episode so much that I went and got the piece that Nate performs (with his real life wife playing the piano part!) and performed it in a Master class on my viola! It is really lovely. It is called Spiegel Im Spiegel and written by Arvo Part.
When Will opens the letter that Nate made him, Nate attached Lavender to the card. The same scent he clowned Will for when he was new and washed the linens with Lavender laundry detergent

Yep.....there are plenty of touching moments all through the entire series. And I'm here for every one of them. But for me, this ep is where the writers really turned up the heat emotionally, and it only gets higher until it boils over in the finale.

In Australia we had super league for rugby league(nrl) in the late 90s & it didn't work it was terrible what happened. People lost friendships & family bc they supported or didn't support it. It was Murdoch vs Packer
There's kind of the same thing happening in golf with the LIV League against the PGA tour. I think the only thing these leagues are for is for gambling. Otherwise they wouldn't exist.
