Today is April 23rd 2023. I am listening to this recording again, it always brings back fond memories for me, back when we still had, Real Drum and bugle Corps.
The 60's were great ! My brother and I played with the Kenosha, WI Kingsmen for many years ! In late 1970 I got called up from the USNR, Seabees, while stationed in Japan I got a letter telling me that the Kingsmen folded ? Little did I know that I would make the military a career, 24 years worth !
I still listen to this recording of BS and Cavaliers, it's April 10th 2021. Thank you Charles may you rest in peace along with many of our friends throughout the years God bless all that are still here and those that have passed, and God bless America
Please identify the month and year these recordings were made with the name and location of the show. It will help give the proper historical perspective for those of us who were not involved in drum corps at the time. We'd like to know. Thank you.
other than the dynamic the 3 snares are one, when you can clearly hear the snare parts when the brass is playing, is an indication of Cleeeen. Betcha, Nardelli( Snare) is forever blessed. Thanks Sac for making my life a little bit better
you are welcome Mr. Frost but I must say to all those who gave of their time and talent that we today who were there can relive . But more Thank You, to those who are still with us and those gone who made my world just a little bit better. Beneath the music, listen closely, you still can feel their Spirit.
Thank You Charles Frost for posting. My cousin Richard Nardelli (snare) has since passed on however, the beautiful brass and percussion and these videos remain with us forever. I can still feel their spirit listening to this recording.Thank You so much for sharing great memories with all of us.
@@oldtimedrumcorps unfortunately, Charles Frost is no longer with us. May he rest in peace. And I agree with your comment 100%, those that of us that were there to witness all of this and compete against them, we're very fortunate. But thanks to Charles we can relive our youth. I was a snare drummer and the Floyd golden eagles from Brooklyn New York in 1960 and 1961. I witnessed this competition, in person I was there roughly 50 yard line plus a minus 102 yards and approximately 10 to 15 maybe 20 rows up. I remember that day like it was yesterday, seeing both course compete was like having a cherry on top of my ice cream sunday. Great memories. I will be 79 this September. Today is, June 29th 2022.
this pix says it all . Sac thinking we will win , "We are the best in the World"!" Cavies thinking, we will win "We are the best in the World!" That would be confirmed a short while later as to who was the Best in the World of these two . But ... only for that day and on and on and on .
Charles thank you for all the post over the years I listen to them I played with the oil pH Richmond Floyd Bennett gold near golden eagles back in 1960 and 61 also I play with the Long Island sun rises from 1964 to 1968 anyway I appreciate all the recordings a PS though I was wondering if you had the album brass By Night I'd like to see that posted for great from The View liqueurs are on there anyway hope you're doing well heard that you were ill hope you get better soon thank you

BSGK had a very under rated Hornline, and always a kick ass drumline
In the 1960’s, these two corps were monsters. Their drum lines were the best.
You are 100% correct both c o r p s, were outstanding both had super drum lines.
They were the best in the country
Two GREAT rivals of the 1950's and '60's. GREAT picture!!! CLASSIC!!!
