man no matter how often i watch this review, that moment when you are more excited about getting to review than your wife telling you she's pregnant makes me laugh. And the name thing makes it even funnier. Keep up the good work, and never stop being critical. It helps with final decision when picking up figures.
Just got mine in the mail today and I have to say, this guys is sweet! This figure for $80 is hands down the best value I have see for any MP style figure. He is solid, well articulated & well painted. Quality on par if not exceeding that of Hasbro/Tomy. I am fortunate in that I am 'late to the (MP) game' and therefore - have a selection to choose from instead of only the one option. I do not regret this choice.
It is not about being BIG. It is about being respected. Great work Bobby really enjoying watching your fan base and now company base grow. Well deserved.
That is so awesome you got contacted for a toy review. Bad ass, man! I know you are going to do an honest review....and hat's off to Cloud 9 because you are HARD on these toys.
Nice to know he's good. I already have this piece pre-ordered. The paint looks damn fiiiiine. It looks great on your camera. Makes me think of your early reviews and the camera you used back then lol. Thanks for upgrading and all the work you put into giving us these reviews. Great skit btw. I had a good laugh.
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L Hahaha same camera? No way lol. I know you don't utilize the electronics, but do you know what size batteries would fit?
This may be one of the best videos you have ever done. I think the third party scene is going to see a lot more of these "evolving molds" type of issues in the very near future, and I salute you for not shying away from the debate in this review. I had already pre-ordered this figure, but I have not yet come to terms with how I feel about what Cloud 9 is doing here...or what it means for the future of the third party game. Is there honor among thieves? I do know one thing though...it counts for a lot with me that Cloud 9 had the stones to seek you out for a review.
+MP Collector btw this is an entirely new mold.... It's not the same mold as quake wave it's one of those cases similar molds but are entirely different molds
He looks like Quakewave with an FOC makeover to me. I respect your opinion and your resoning, but under that slick paint and new molding he's still pretty Fanstoys. Anyway great review congratulations on being tapped for this, and on that baby thing too.
+GibDozer1 thanks man, and I definitely get where youre coming from. this made me kind of really think about it, which is good. it's good to be challenged and raise some discussions in the fandom
I got the rubber hose to fit securely. You have to rotate it as you push it in. This helps the first nub of the hose squeeze past the ring in the arm/back holes (it is deeper in the arm hole). After you get one end in, reverse rotate the other end of the hose so that when you start rotating and pushing it in you don't build up a lot of extra twisting of the whole hose. It can be a little tough but once you get that first nub past the hole ring it is secure enough.
I just ordered this and your review was excellent and very helpful. Looks to me like the Nick Roche IDW Shockwave and that is not a bad thing at all. Is gonna look awesome right next to my oversize mp Grimlock.
3rd Party Review Sample >>> New Baby. Glad you got your priorities straight. In all seriousness, congrats on both counts. I love that shiny purple paint - it'd make doves cry. Do wish they'd used it on the shoulder joints too.
He's basically the Shockwave off the front cover of the G1 comic with the words "Are all dead!" on. Thats always been the figure I wanted of Shockers, and this is as close as you're gonna get I think.
got mine like 7 months ago. just now saw the vid. hoses connect just fine in the finished product, legs collaps fine, the white bits are still white. has a nice kind-of heft to it. it comes down to toon vs comic version. tbh, I would ve loved to have the takara version just because of the toon aesthetic. nice piece though.
Great review like always , skit was hilarious !!! After seeing the other reviewer break it , I found your review to be surprising to say the least. I was actually figuring I was going to watch you tear this thing apart. I guess it was better than expected. I had thought this thing was going to end up being a terd since it was announced ...
If they are watching, which would make sense, since they contacted you... it would be a pretty nice figure if they take your advice on it's problems and fixes it. So you did your part well, now it's in their hands. Let's hope they take the criticism well and do what needs to be done.
I gotta say...that is one nice looking Shockwave. I am digging the colors. The dark purple with the light clear purple plastic is beautiful and I don't mind parts forming. Since when has parts forming been an issue? Some of the best TFers from G 1 were partformers. All in all, very nice licks.
Best MP Shockwave !!! The size is perfect, excellent color, very good articulations, & very good price ! I'm very disappointed by Shockwave Takara, the size is bad(small) & the color is not good, the foot is very small! Thanks at you! ;-)
This looks really good! FT's Quakewave was always a little too Cartoon oriented for my liking, As of now i will be holding off for the Takara, since it looks like it will exactly what i want, the G1 Toy with Articulation. Great review as always!
If the purple on the body was a bit lighter, I reckon it would look better. I can see this year being a good year for multiple versions of the same character. Truely great times to be a transformer fan. Awesome review and I look forward to the bad cube review, of thier version, of the yellow lambo.
Fantastic review full of fair critiques and good enthusiasm, I just wished you'd have shown the battery compartments. This clearly in NOT a K.O. it is a brand new and unique product based on the FT engineering. Both are excellent as I can see. I feel good for purchasing this item, I hope mine arrives soon and with no quality issues. Looking fwd to watching more videos from you.
Awesome review, first off. I will say it isn't a KO of Quakewave, because it is clear in your review each piece of plastic is a completely different mold. But, it's not enough of a difference for me to buy this figure because I feel I have a Shockwave stand in already. If anything the timing might have been a bad thing for them with Takara/Tomy coming around the corner. But, it could be a good thing because of price. And that is the key seller for this figure. The huge price difference and great quality Cloud 9 has put into this figure is gonna put this guy on shelves of those that have a tight budget and don't wanna wait for Takara. Or, those that keep missing out on Quakewave. I just landed a VERSION 2 of FT-03, and it's quality is astounding. Absolutely stunning. And I see no reason to get this guy. If I hadn't, and this guy came around instead, I'd jump on it, for sure. I'm rambling... Lol As always, awesome review Bobby! And thank you for your honest reviews!!
I don't know if I would agree with that. After seeing Tak's Shockwave it shocked me that Quakewave and this guy looked so much better so it was great news to hear MMC was doing a re-release and Cloud9 was moving forward with theirs. C9's will probably end up being my Shockwave.
The right hand needs to be made out of non-translucent plastic, and if the joints on the fingers use metal pins, there's no reason why the fingers couldn't be pinned in at the knuckles. Also it would be awesome if the cannon barrel was made out of die-cast metal to ensure durability. Great video, and it;s awesome that Cloud 9 approached you for feedback, and hopefully they seriously consider what people have to say about the figures they're producing, because this is an important time for this company, and if they wish to succeed as a company they need to get this figure right in every way possible, because there is simply too much competition for them to afford to get it wrong.
1. Congrats! The wife and I are expecting our first, due at the end of February! 2. Prince is the man. So many good songs. So talented. He can play like any instrument. 3. Good review. I wanted to just pass this guy off, but he seems like a solid figure. Personally, I'm happy with my Quakewave, but this is good cheaper option for people that still need a MP Shockwave, TFDirect has him for $80 shipped right now!
+eyescovered oh no, im definitely not suggesting anyone switch up. and congrats to you guys as well. the first is a culture shock, but its awesome man.
Congrats on your first contact. Hope it's the first of many. The figure looks very good. The paint is awesome, it just doesn't match my other figures. Maybe if they would have gone with a more flat/matte plaint...?
Oh, crap... This will probably be a long comment again, but here we go! First off! Congratulations with the job offer, dude! In my opinion, its better to be critizised and learn, than getting no feedback at all and fuck it up! So far I see it, you're the right man for this job! The negatives are just as important to speak of as the positives. Leaving critisism out just to "get the job" would hurt the product, in my opinion. Second! Now... This company sounds all new to me, as I've never heard of it before. Making a good/great/perfect toy on a first release is a exellent way to start off the company journey, but then you'll have to either keep going straight or start climbing. Not much room for fuckups later down the line if you start out too strong and burn out too soon, but thats just my opinion yet again. But I would like to mention that, even though Shockwave is a awesome character, was it the best one to do these days? With Quakewave out there and Takara announcing the official Shockwave, and probably some other companies with their version of him out there too, they really have to relay on a superior product or a cheaper price point. I've heard people cancelling their FT Quakewave as soon as they heard about the Takara Shockwave. Personally, I skipped on FT just because I prefere the official version. I was sooooo close to ordering the FT figure, but then I saw the Takara announcement and that was it! Even if the Takara one would be more expensive than the FT, I'll still go for the Takara version, but thats just me (I guess...). Im not sure this was the right timing for Cloud 9 to jump on the Shockwave train, but I've been known to be wrong before. I just feel that another character would be a better way to go these days. Third! Where is my G1 Cybertron figures from the 84 cartoon movie? I saw som piss poor tetra-or-what-ever seekers a while back, but I want some proper Cybertron esthetic figures from before they took on their "Earth form". Preferebly in true masterpiece style and scale! Go for something that haven't been done before! Take a risk and walk a path that isn't trampled down by thousands before you! Explore new grounds and bring something new to the table! Yeah, this is a great looking Shockwave figure as far as I can see (on video), and if it wasn't for Takara, depending on the price difference between this and the FT version, I would consider this one for sure! Forth and final! If you wasn't making a joke about expecting a new member to your family, a lots of congratulations to you and your wife, dude :) I guess Christmas will get a little more expensive for you next year LOL! I wish you guys all the best of luck in the future! Now, I need to get back to sleep, dude :D I woke up in the middle of the damn night to watch your review on this figure, so you're welcome LOL!
Bobby Skullface L Okey :D Let's hope it won't be a "partial baby" though LOL! And when the day comes when you become a dad again, I'll just refere to that comment :D
Stormrider X I know this is a response to 9 month old post but I have both and I honestly like my Quakeblast better. You’ll be impressed with the paint and the diecast
I do believe the barrel piece is just an optional extra and like the G1 figure has no place to put it in robot mode... I do think it was a nice addition because the folded up one looks.. a bit funky?
Like the sculpt of this guy, major improvements over my 1st release Quakewave. If they do side ratchets on the hips they'll just screw it up like everyone else and make a wide stance guy I have to pass on. MPP10 Prime has tight, very good, non-ratcheting side hip joints for big heavy legs.
Great review! This is pretty unbeatable at its price point. I had *JUST* bought the Quakewave re-issue when they dropped the price on this. I didn't get a bad figure by any means, but I sorta like the exaggerated proportions on this more. Oh well. Be interested to find out if the solid colored hands/gun from QW fit this or if the arm construction is unique enough not to allow it.
Hey dude. Re-watching a lot of your older videos. I never did pick up this figure. I like everything about it, except the aesthetics. But the new Quakeblast they have coming out, in black and gold, looks DAYM nice. I will probably get it. Any chance on a new review for that one? I'm not sure if Cloud 9 has updated anything (hose?) with the re-issue.
as always bobby, fucking awesome review. and you didn't break your quakeblast like you know who lol. thats a plus!!! didnt look handicapped like you know who lol. anyways, i do love the painting finish on it. superb like you said. but he is too bulky on top. but perfect on the bottm. if quakewave (which i will forever love) had those legs sculpt!! forget about it. nobody would attempt another shockwave. but his bulkiness on the shoulders and chest, it makes him look like a shockwave built armada clone..if you know what i mean. quakewave looks legit and quakeblast looks "clonish".. enough rambling. thanks for the review my dude!!
Number one thing this thing nails are the look of the feet. I love the paint, but I'm not sure its the shade I would go for. If I didn't already have a Quakewave, I think I would jump on this, especially at the price its being offered for. Look forward to the new backdrop, and I forgot to say so in the MK figure review, but I like the new intro as well.
They were going for g1 toy colors right? Not the light purple cartoon first wave ft mp color. Hey at least you didn't break it 5 mins in... if you know what I'm talking about. Having the ft g1 toy color this is no for me but the $80 price sure is tempting to have one displayed in gun mode
Even though you have a chance of breaking the cannon when transforming the figure I'm going to get him anyways I just won't transform him is all. I just love how bulky he looks compared to other Shockwave's, I also think the color scheme looks pretty damn nice especially with that glossy finish it has.
Dammit... now I have to decide if I want this one to replace my QuakeWave. More choices the better for the collectors IMO. Now days if you make a crap Third Party figure people won't buy it. Competition is stiff for Third Party and I love it. I literally had a spread sheep set for up when I was deciding on a Third Party Megatron. It's a huge pain in the butt to decide but I do it with a smile on my face every time.
The darker purple is definitely more war/fall of Cybertron, which is fine by me. Wish we could have seen it light up though. Lights really make darker figures "pop".
Yo, Bobby! I just ordered this guy. I have a question for you and anyone else who may read this. Which version of Quakewave to get? Once again I have Quakeblast on order, so I do not want FT-03T. My options are FT-03 (reissue) and FT-03C.
Bobby Skullface L It seems like if it could there would be some extra flap sticking out back (given that that back flap is larger, and the foldable muzzle looks similar in size to Quakewave), but of course I cannot know that for certain.
Dude, I just wanna compliment ya in saying, when you have a 3rd party asking you to review a figure, just wanna say that you should have 100+ Subs! 😊 & With that said, I hope that comes around & happens soon! 😎
Hey Bobby, I just listened to the newest episode of Shattered Cast and I wanted to point something that you said regarding FT Grinder being a KO of MP Grimlock that relates to what I see with Quakeblast. You said "if this takes all the engineering of it, then I would say absolutely." Shockwave's design does have a limited number of transformations based on the design, but let's be real about this. If I handed Quakeblast to someone that had never seen it before and I gave them the instruction booklet for Quakewave, would they not be able to transform it successfully? The ONLY differences that aren't superficial on Quakeblast are the added chest light gimmick and those cheap looking white sliding mechanism on the inner calves.
Yes, and in the episode of SCU (which was recorded Monday) I stated that I barely had a chance to mess with it. Then in this video I state that it challenges me to define what a ko is. And this product did challenge that for me. Now, I'm not the definitive statement on this matter but I did appreciate that this product challenged my preconceived ideas and I like the fact that it's raising discussions just like this in the fandom. I don't know if I'm right on it... I don't. But I know ice been challenged and it's not as clear as it was a week ago to me. And to me that's a good thing. I like a challenge.
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L Yeah, I did understand that you hadn't messed with it as of the time of your recording. I really do like seeing new companies come out with their own interpretations of characters. When I see the two translucent pieces on the back of Quakeblast in bot mode, the backpack to barrel, or the locking mechanism that FT owners used for a trigger, I see Quakewave. If we compare Sever and Gutter, they are definitely different transformations even though they have limitations in order to look like the source material. Anyway, I do enjoy your reviews and I am a subscriber so keep up the good work.
I heard this guy might go for like 80 bucks? If that's the case then I will definitely buy! Looks really good but with so many variants of Shockwave the price will determine if I buy this or not because I already have Fans Toys Quakewave.
Hi bob, i like him the dark purple makes him more serius and manacing, most def not a k.o, they should not go with the translucant hand and gun or make it an option.Did they tell u what the next one will be? Concrats on the pragnantcy thx funny skit yo peace
Great review, I want to warn you that another reviewer tried putting the new style gun muzzle that comes with Quakeblast, when he took it off the clear plastic gun on Quakeblast arm broke off so that's the one reason I may not buy that out of fear of breakage, also is your wife really pregnant? If so tell her I said congratulations! :)
I was wondering if I should go with Quakewave or this since this was much cheaper and I really liked the paint job. I ended up going with Quakewave. Seeing this review with them side by side, I think I made the right decision. My big problem with Quakeblast is actually that he doesn't look enough like Quakewave. I thought FT nailed the head sculpt and arms. The laser gun on QB seems too long and I am not a big fan of the shallow face plate. Oh well, people who don't care about cartoon accuracy should love this figure. Just so you know, I sold my original Quakewave because I thought the purple they used was hideous. The new reissue uses a darker purple that to me looks much more cartoon accurate than any of the MP styled Shockwaves I have seen so far. Takara looks like they are using some kind of powder puff purple. Really disappointing. Congrats on getting an advanced copy to review. They did have some balls sending it to you.
+Adam Black I don't think I LOVED one MP release this year. Magnus was probably my favorite. I was slightly disappointed in star saber and didn't care for tracks at all
I only purchased Magnus as I didn't watch any of the Japanese cartoons so I passed on Star Saber. I didn't buy Tracks either but I've handled him and he was a solid figure imo
Am I mistaken or isn't quakeblast designed by the same guy behind quake wave? I think I heard somewhere that they screwed over the designer so he went and made quakeblast and then offered it at half the price.
i just feel like if it aint broke dont fix it fans toys will be my shockwave unless u wow me on the mp i doubt it but never know i hope they try to do a new figure that we dont have yet
I love the color. But I have Quakewave. I still won't change him.even for the official. But if they make the black version Of this.maybe.. What someone needs to make are the sentinels from the desertion of the Dinobots episodes.. I would army build those. I think there were like 3 or 4 robots in those episodes. A set or loose would be great.
Hmm...this is an interesting review/discussion. I know there are TF fans from the beginning of 3rd party that would consider all of them knock-offs. I personally have always loved 3rd party products and felt they filled a niche that HasTak still has not filled in some areas. With that, I don't see this as a knock-off at all if the only similarity is the transformation engineering. As for the 3rd party MP Coneheads, well...knowing what I know about them, they are definitely more of a knock-off because they not only copy the HasTak mold but a FANTASTIC custom that used that original mold.
The coloring seems to be trying to replicate the G1 toys coloring. One thing that bothers me is his floating head syndrome, it just doesnt look like its attached to the body but rather floating a bit over the shoulders. Great that you showed him with Mp Soundwave and Apollyon, but i get the feeling that it lacks the bulk to make Shockwave that threatening machine that he really is. Dont get me wrong Quakeblast to me looks like a standing brick in robot mode but compared to Quakeblast they do seem to be too much alike, nothing important that pushes some buyers over the edge to prefer one over the other. Its nice detaling around the hips but that doesnt decide much for i guess anybody. The biggest factor is the price so if they can keep it below what Quakewave cost then maybe they stand a chance, but as a placeholder until a great official Product comes along well it might be these guys are out of luck if TakTomy makes a homerun with their MP. Soo maybe a new try for a MP Blaster thats not made up of shitloads of panels or a Great MP looking Jazz might be better, i dont know. At the moment my MP Shelf is too crowded to be handle any more except the absolute must haves, so maybe a different era like Cybertron games slightly upscaled and detailed or something else?
Hey man not sure if you're going to be looking at liokaiser from TFC but I gotta tell you people need to know how bad it is. They're doing that thing where they integrate combiner feet and it's a nightmare. Plus hellbat is a kibble mess
well it seems like they're halfway there I mean if their paint and joints are that good push out more products thats the biggest problem 3rd party companies have. by the way Bobby it seems you've been down with opp lately congrats
I may get this because of the cost. They are selling it for $80. To me quackwave is making a figure of someone without the rights from Hasbro. So to me it is all one big KO and I am okay with that
Quakeblast here looks like a mixture of IDW Shockwave and G1 Shockwave to me.
+GaryTheNeutral i can see that
GaryTheNeutral your right

Honestly, having Quakewave and Quakeblast on the way, why would I need MP Shockwave? Great and thorough review. Thank you!

Really liked the comparison between Blast and Wave. Looking forward to having this one in hand.

+Justin Linett I think cloud 9 expected me to as well
He did start off as a KO of MMC's but I'm glad their sculpt improvements are enough to differentiate them. I am eagerly awaiting this guy!
+Tony Frazier (Crim) I remember those mmc teases, I still kinda want that brainstorm lol
Can't wait to get mine, for $80 shipped it's an amazing deal. Grats on the kid!
+OPReviews thanks
I can’t find it ;-;
Nice review. Even though its not G1 toon accurate I kind of like the coloring.(Oh and congrats to you.)
+trence5 thank you

+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L Agreed - solid review and with the fixes you mentioned, I'm sold! Really good review, Bobby.

Thanks at you! ;-)
youre welcome at you :)
This looks really good! FT's Quakewave was always a little too Cartoon oriented for my liking, As of now i will be holding off for the Takara, since it looks like it will exactly what i want, the G1 Toy with Articulation.
Great review as always!
+Toolala im looking forward to the takara as well
Great review as always... I think I'm sticking with quakewave though..
+Brian Krueger oh no, im definitely not suggesting anyone switch up.

+Crazyjoe1974 many thanks and thanks for watching
Congratulations on the new baby
+austin roaten thanks man
I Stay with Quakewave, ordered mp 29... but for the price i have seen Quakeblast he seems really nice !
+Pepe LM oh no, im definitely not suggesting anyone switch up.
Lol
As always, awesome review Bobby! And thank you for your honest reviews!!
+Michael “Elpolkadotdisco” Sillaman thank you and i wouldnt disagree with any of that
I don't know if I would agree with that.
+AltronT thanks for the kind words, and i agree they are at a pivotal stage
a surprisingly solid unit. To me it looks like it might be the best looking Shockwave out there.
+The Comic Dork time will tell
4:11 Wow, who knew Shockwave was such a flagrant bot
+Jose Sanchez thanks man and thanks for watching
+eSeReS lol, thanks. it was a joke of course but we are actually pregnant as well, so maybe a partial joke? and thanks for the kind words
Bobby Skullface L
Okey :D Let's hope it won't be a "partial baby" though LOL! And when the day comes when you become a dad again, I'll just refere to that comment :D
I am getting tired of Takara Shockwave's sad appearance on my shelf. I want to replace him. Which is better - Cloud9 or FansToys?
Stormrider X I know this is a response to 9 month old post but I have both and I honestly like my Quakeblast better. You’ll be impressed with the paint and the diecast
@@JohnnyEFromNC Just got mine today at a figure mall in Hong Kong for 77 USD. Box art and figure are amazing! So pumped!
Rad review glad it got some justice.
+The forged Serket thanks :)
I do believe the barrel piece is just an optional extra and like the G1 figure has no place to put it in robot mode... I do think it was a nice addition because the folded up one looks.. a bit funky?
+Chris Mckay yep, its exactly that
Like the sculpt of this guy, major improvements over my 1st release Quakewave. If they do side ratchets on the hips they'll just screw it up like everyone else and make a wide stance guy I have to pass on. MPP10 Prime has tight, very good, non-ratcheting side hip joints for big heavy legs.
+MultiJamesman better friction can fix it as well
Bobby Skullface L Interesting how it seems hard to get it right.
+MultiJamesman it's not the same mold as quake wave entirely new mold not a K.O.
+razingst0rm oh man, youre more than fine with qw, if i had to recommend one it would definitely be qw for now
I’m sad I can’t find any reissue of it ;-;
congrats on the bundle of joy.
+Hoang Nguyen many thanks
Awesome review. I agree, not a KO
+Fitzedward Llorin thanks for watching
Hey dude. Re-watching a lot of your older videos. I never did pick up this figure. I like everything about it, except the aesthetics. But the new Quakeblast they have coming out, in black and gold, looks DAYM nice. I will probably get it. Any chance on a new review for that one? I'm not sure if Cloud 9 has updated anything (hose?) with the re-issue.
well, I believe cloud 9 is gigapower, and I think ive ended up on their naughty list lol, so im going to say the chances are slim
Bobby Skullface L ahaha what did you do to get on their 'naughty list' so to speak?
Just going back and watching this - it's like Cloud 9 is their omage to Quakewave (vs. Shockwave)
maybe
I still have mixed feelings on this
Finally! Welcome to the prototype clique
+allanmonster111 lol, for now lol
Quakewave: Dark Cybertron version.
+Bradley Arellano I can dig it
Name: Shockwave. Faction: Decepticon. Function: operations commander. Alt mode: laser pistol. Motto:” Clarity of thought before rashness of action.”
the difference in the feet really stand out to me in a good way. Unfortunately I don't need another shockwave.
+yellowgut no, one is good enough
looks like a great product, but if you have quakewake, is this necessary to the fact that also, the official product will be out soon..
+john williams oh no, im definitely not suggesting anyone switch up from quakewave to this, especially if you already have quakewave
as always bobby, fucking awesome review. and you didn't break your quakeblast like you know who lol. thats a plus!!! didnt look handicapped like you know who lol. anyways, i do love the painting finish on it. superb like you said. but he is too bulky on top. but perfect on the bottm. if quakewave (which i will forever love) had those legs sculpt!! forget about it. nobody would attempt another shockwave. but his bulkiness on the shoulders and chest, it makes him look like a shockwave built armada clone..if you know what i mean. quakewave looks legit and quakeblast looks "clonish".. enough rambling. thanks for the review my dude!!
+Lord “Starwave” Supreme oh no, im definitely not suggesting anyone switch up, and thanks for watching
+Krommdor awesome man, thanks
They were going for g1 toy colors right? Not the light purple cartoon first wave ft mp color. Hey at least you didn't break it 5 mins in... if you know what I'm talking about. Having the ft g1 toy color this is no for me but the $80 price sure is tempting to have one displayed in gun mode
+Talisac80 Oh, you saw that video too, huh?
+Talisac80 yea im guessing they were going for toy
Congratulations!!!
+Kenny “Kennyprime” McKinnon Thanks!
“YOU’RE BREATHTAKING!” - Keanu was here
Hi, if u use a hair dryer on the backpack u should be able to pop it in but I don't have the figure so I'm not 100 percent sure :)
+Smelliot B yep
I got a question I was offered to get him for USD62 is he worth getting at that price eventhough I have PO Takara MP version
+Liege Lord thats a good price, but i guess it kinda depends on whether you have quakewave or are planning on getting tak SW
Even though you have a chance of breaking the cannon when transforming the figure I'm going to get him anyways I just won't transform him is all. I just love how bulky he looks compared to other Shockwave's, I also think the color scheme looks pretty damn nice especially with that glossy finish it has.
+MrSoundwave64Z the finish is quite nice for sure
Dammit... now I have to decide if I want this one to replace my QuakeWave.
PowerJuiceIam no need to switch from quakewave to this imo
The darker purple is definitely more war/fall of Cybertron, which is fine by me. Wish we could have seen it light up though. Lights really make darker figures "pop".
+ZetZatar yea, sorry about that. its hard to keep those sorts of super specific batteries in stock at the house for those moments
Yo, Bobby! I just ordered this guy. I have a question for you and anyone else who may read this. Which version of Quakewave to get? Once again I have Quakeblast on order, so I do not want FT-03T. My options are FT-03 (reissue) and FT-03C.
I think we covered this on Facebook. Beautiful family by the way. And your tall AF lol
We did and thanks. 6'8" bro! My wife 5'2", but here attitude is Yao Ming
Quakewave could store his muzzle as a backpack, can Quakeblast do this as well? I noticed that the top back flap is a lot larger on Quakeblast.
+MultiJamesman i believe so, but id have to double check, if i had to make a bet right now it would be that it can
Bobby Skullface L It seems like if it could there would be some extra flap sticking out back (given that that back flap is larger, and the foldable muzzle looks similar in size to Quakewave), but of course I cannot know that for certain.
No lights? No sounds?
I know this is a 4 year old video but is this kit still available anywhere?
Dude, I just wanna compliment ya in saying, when you have a 3rd party asking you to review a figure, just wanna say that you should have 100+ Subs! 😊 & With that said, I hope that comes around & happens soon! 😎
+Smoke screen me too lol and thanks
Lol your welcome.
that purple man i love it!
+John Garringer hahaha its well applied
Is there any die cast? Like on the feet or etc.
+Lam Wai Kin yep, in the feet, i believe i point it out at some point but its been awhile since ive recorded this
Where can I order Cloud 9 transformers?
Hey Bobby, I just listened to the newest episode of Shattered Cast and I wanted to point something that you said regarding FT Grinder being a KO of MP Grimlock that relates to what I see with Quakeblast. You said "if this takes all the engineering of it, then I would say absolutely."
Shockwave's design does have a limited number of transformations based on the design, but let's be real about this.
Anyway, I do enjoy your reviews and I am a subscriber so keep up the good work.
many thanks man and i DEFINITELY see where your coming from, like i said its something im wrestling with too. which i think is a good thing honestly
I heard this guy might go for like 80 bucks? If that's the case then I will definitely buy! Looks really good but with so many variants of Shockwave the price will determine if I buy this or not because I already have Fans Toys Quakewave.
+BayushiGemma i dont think its necessary if you already have a quake wave unless youre a huge shockwave fan, in which case go for it
Hi bob, i like him the dark purple makes him more serius and manacing, most def not a k.o, they should not go with the translucant hand and gun or make it an option.Did they tell u what the next one will be? Concrats on the pragnantcy thx funny skit yo peace
+jackticon they havent told me much, lol, and thank you
looks like the waist is missing something in robot mode or is it me
+SUNDAYHEAT31 im not sure, I see a waist, but it could be just me lol
Great review, I want to warn you that another reviewer tried putting the new style gun muzzle that comes with Quakeblast, when he took it off the clear plastic gun on Quakeblast arm broke off so that's the one reason I may not buy that out of fear of breakage, also is your wife really pregnant? If so tell her I said congratulations! :)
+shockwave514 lol, yea she is and thanks
No Problem and congrats on getting your first test shot figure btw. ;)
+Ralphenator1 thanks man an thanks for watching
this is a great figure. I ordered the MP shockwave since I got a great deal on it.
you said MP had let you down in 2015, how so?
+Adam Black I don't think I LOVED one MP release this year. Magnus was probably my favorite. I was slightly disappointed in star saber and didn't care for tracks at all
I only purchased Magnus as I didn't watch any of the Japanese cartoons so I passed on Star Saber. I didn't buy Tracks either but I've handled him and he was a solid figure imo
well, like I always say, the truth is if you like it, then ultimately you win. but he was a huge bummer for me
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L that sucks. I'm actually going to see if they make the KO him and get him that way
Am I mistaken or isn't quakeblast designed by the same guy behind quake wave? I think I heard somewhere that they screwed over the designer so he went and made quakeblast and then offered it at half the price.
possibly. its under the gigapower umbrella and they have a history so maybe
Are cloud 9 working on anything else?
theyre giga power I believe, so dinobots
i just feel like if it aint broke dont fix it fans toys will be my shockwave unless u wow me on the mp i doubt it but never know i hope they try to do a new figure that we dont have yet
+booksy1a oh no, im definitely not suggesting anyone switch up.
How tall is this?
+GDdiggerz MP scale, 16:27
I love the color. But I have Quakewave. I still won't change him.even for the official. But if they make the black version Of this.maybe.. What someone needs to make are the sentinels from the desertion of the Dinobots episodes.. I would army build those. I think there were like 3 or 4 robots in those episodes. A set or loose would be great.
yea this isnt worth getting if you already have quakewave
Hmm...this is an interesting review/discussion. I know there are TF fans from the beginning of 3rd party that would consider all of them knock-offs. I personally have always loved 3rd party products and felt they filled a niche that HasTak still has not filled in some areas. With that, I don't see this as a knock-off at all if the only similarity is the transformation engineering.
As for the 3rd party MP Coneheads, well...knowing what I know about them, they are definitely more of a knock-off because they not only copy the HasTak mold but a FANTASTIC custom that used that original mold.
+kalron27 I would agree
+zilvertron maybe after the takara we'll have a more definitive answer
Stiff joint on the legs.. the hinges just ripped out of the plastic rather than do what you showed
Hey man not sure if you're going to be looking at liokaiser from TFC but I gotta tell you people need to know how bad it is. They're doing that thing where they integrate combiner feet and it's a nightmare. Plus hellbat is a kibble mess
Um liokaiser intergrated his feet so what plus you don't got the figure in hand you can't judge it yet
+Neopiate13 I will be reviewing them soon
They came in last night. And they aren't good.
well it seems like they're halfway there I mean if their paint and joints are that good push out more products thats the biggest problem 3rd party companies have. by the way Bobby it seems you've been down with opp lately congrats
+godbott many thanks
I may get this because of the cost. They are selling it for $80. To me quackwave is making a figure of someone without the rights from Hasbro. So to me it is all one big KO and I am okay with that
+Aaron Mauer certainly raises some discussion topics
I'm confused, it looks like a metalic Quakewave......
+Jordan Harrington certainly similar, no doubt about it
this is the best shockwave imo
just got mine today and I couldn't agree more!
+peasofme nice!
