Foreign companies aren't allowed to own major television stations which means Sony will have to sell CBS if they buy paramount. Won't be surprised if wbdiscovery tries to buy it since they were thinking about buying paramount late last year.
If the buyout is successful, Sony will keep the film and television studios and Apollo will keep the the broadcast company, CBS. I think Paramount Plus will shut down because Sony does not want to be in the streaming wars.
Or sony changes Paramount plus into their own service since they only use Netflix for their films

Sony just wants the studio. Some industry players believe Apollo mostly wants the studio lot as a real estate play. Paramount Global’s CBS broadcast assets might need to be sold off. Sony might not be able to own them under foreign ownership regulations, and may not want to. As things stand, Apollo’s current station holdings would put it over the Congressionally mandated broadcast cap.
I really hope this gets shut down by the FTC, the last thing the industry needs is another large scale multi-studio buyout.

@@MarcAquino1095Activision Blizzard King. Sony attempted to block the buyout and failed miserably, mostly because the FTC put up a piss poor performance. They were looking out for Sony instead of the consumers. A total waste of taxpayer money on top of being a clown show.
The only things that could be an issue is the fact that TMNT and Transformers are licensed by Hasbro, and if Sony can keep using them, as it is at the whim of Hasbro wanting to keep licensing them to Sony post Paramount buyout.

Whatever properties Sony gets it’s not gonna save their company because they’re gonna screw those properties up just like they’re doing with the Spider-Man universe. They’re gonna screw up G.I. Joe & Transformers, great

The Hasbro based properties ie Transformers, GI Joe, D&D etc.. are not owned by paramount. I assume the rights to these would revert back to Hasbro unless another agreement was made.

I don't know if it will happen but I hope it does, I really hope Sony stuff also goes to paramount+ or whatever it gets renamed to if it does because right now Sony doesn't really have one place for stuff to go

Sadly, that's probably not how it works
Sony wants Paramount entire film/TV studios, including IPs. What they don't want to deal with are all those TV networks Paramount owns. Since Sony is a foreign company, they would not be allowed to own them anyway.

Sony won't be cherry picking because the rest would be not very valuable and why would Apollo be interested in a bad deal. Also the FTC won't let them sublicense things back to Sony. Wouldn't make sense anyway.
There's so much bs in here. It's best the FTC blocks the acquisition at all. I don't even understand why Paramount is willing to sell and be ripped apart. They we'rent doing so bad at all? Last fiscal year there streaming service was among the most viewed and profitablest 🤷🏼♂️

Sony needs to sells the TV networks such as Nickelodeon, MTV, CBS, Showtime, Comedy Central and the streaming service Paramount+. Just keeps the movie and TV production side of things at least. Let Comcast have SpongeBob SquarePants and Warner Bros Discovery having South Park.

The more I think about what you just wrote. I think that sounds amazing .. I couldn't care less about all that mcu stuff but in an new original story so I'd use completely different actors...so in Spider-Man vs Ghostface (scream) like a new alternate Peter parker goes on the hunt to uncover the mystery behind the Ghostface killings. Peter will uncover darker secrets about friends and his bully flash Thompson in this new mystery, superhero, slasher thriller coming soon to amazon as an limited series 😂😂😂 that sounds official as hell. 💯 along with classic Spider-Man foes such as hammerhead, owl, shocker, chameleon, tombstone etc.
