You can actually take his cape off, like Kaido's :) Shame its so damn heavy though. I normally love soft goods capes but you're right about this design, that's gonna be so much harder to make it look anime-accurate with a fluffy texture
There is fabric that looks like that I seen it I know it exists they actually use it for jackets too lol. I think my sister has something similar to it too
I don’t think the One Piece Line is a failure just yet, the figures have been serviceable. The Berserk line has been a real failure, even the characters that they are doing next are strange selections.
I think the One Piece line has been more mediocre than an outright failure. The individual figures so far seem fine but have one or two glaring flaws that seriously hold them back. I think what makes it hurt more is that i feel on a subconscious level we thought One Piece Figuarts would’ve been a slam dunk. Figures they could design in their sleep. But they just keep making baffling decisions.
@@jonathandelgado3755 Tbh Figures like captain Kid do look like they are challenging figures to make, something like Zoro having no leg articulation (and falling apart) is obviously baffling. The Naruto figures are probably easier to make since they don't have overly exaggerated designs and the canon size scaling is also very figure friendly (imagine doing Whitebeard).
Apparently the berserker armour guts is good, and they finally announced Zodd, so they seem to be getting better. Plus shanks and Ace look great for one piece.
@@soumyadeepbanerjee964 Tbh I think Yamato and Kaido are the only characters who can make that claim. Yamato because of the skirt and Kaido because of his top heavy design. Everyone else I feel should be close enough to a standard human to easily design.
I think having an extra soft goods fluff cape would have been good, keep the plastic one for anime accurate and cloth for articulation and balance Bandai and goodsmile making terrible revoltech joints is just to funny 😂
Because they can. The figures will sell, and they have the license long enough to do a round two. Give it a couple of years, and they'll restart the whole line with what they should have done now.
I keep buying them for the same reason, One Piece being my favourite franchise since I was a kid, and just fix the issue with custom capes. Though it is kinda sad that pretty much every release other than Sanji needed soft goods to fix their glaring issues. Even Luffy needing the iconic coat he wore during the raid.
One thing I will say with the One Piece figures, is that it seems they are listening to the reviews and making improvements with each new figure. Although those shoulders were a very strange choice.
The only figures I'd get from the line is this one,Yamato, and Ace. (When they release him) Anything else from the line I'd maybe get if found at in person stores
Cape should have been how McFarlane usually does thiers. A rubbery plastic but with a heavy wire in it. And have a different type of clear stand for the cape.
I stopped with just Luffy. There are enough questions with other figures in the line that'd I'd never get all of them and I feel like 3 or 4 random figures from a line is harder to fit into displays than just the main character
Apart from Zoro, none of the figures are bad, just some questionable decisions here and there. The Romance Dawn Luffy and Gear 5 Luffy are fantastic, and it seems the upcoming figures are shaping up to be really good. So no, definitely not giving up on the line. I’ll probably just stick to the crew and a few side characters I like (Shanks is a must buy).
Don't know anything about one piece, I'm not a fan, But I buy cool action figures that are well articulated. I boight kaido because he looked super cool. I was going to get this guy because he looks cool, but since the articulation is so bad I'll probably pass
I agree the line is hit or miss, I’m only picking up figures I just want for the character, I have Luffy & Yamato and I’m definitely gonna pick up the new Luffy, Nami, Ace, & Shanks👌🏻
It is pvc. Lighter plastic is good but can't be molded the same way as pvc. Pvc is heavy. I don't think there's a better option aside from making the figure much stiffer and maybe heavier
I'm losing hope in the One Piece line tbh. They "fixed" the pants on the new Luffy, but the range is pretty much the same and that's so dumb, he should have more range because his legs are bare, there's nothing blocking them. Pre-time skip Zoro is gonna have the same issue, you can already see in the promo pics that his legs can barely go over 90°. You can remove the cape/coat on this guy unlike Trafalgar's, they didn't glue it this time.
@@jonathandelgado3755 They didn't redesign anything, that's the problem. It's good, but it could be better. That's the disappoibting part as it's such a simple design.
@@nhyar They did. They actually made the knees bend better. Or I guess it technically isn’t a redesign. But still, it’s suitable. I’m not sure how much better it could actually be.
@@jonathandelgado3755 Yeah, that's why I don't count it as a redesign. The range is the same as the Onigashima one with mods, so they probably just got rid of the weird plastic notch inside the joint. The legs could definitely get more range, the legs needed to be double jointed for a full 180° bend like the arms or redesigning the sculpt since it's parly one of the reasons it can't go past 90°.
East Blue Luffy is good but I just used that with the Wano Luffy to make a Post Time Skip Luffy 😂 Passed on most of them, won't waste money on more crap after that Wano Luffy. This after they hit a home run with their first Luffy all those years ago 🤦
I hope you’re gonna review that new Demon Slayer sh figuarts (I don’t know the character’s name) he has baggy pants and his knee joints are done almost perfectly, they look amazing in neutral position and when bent
I'm not one to modify my figures at all but I might need to remove the capes on Law and this guy. It just kills the fun of posing. And even if you get past that, it's not like they can really stand or do much unassisted
Oh snap Anthony is angy x3 lol tho would the same knee on the original broly count for the knees? Hes a gargantuan for a figure but its sculpted but like not much as a knee shape but its there i suppose.
@@azamianimations I personally couldn't care less for one piece. I've just been watching Anthony's reviews for about a decade now. It is a shame about most of this line and the berserk line. If I had to pick a line to suffer it'd be Naruto if only cause I find their fan base the most obnoxious.
I'm glad I didn't buy that figure, like if you're going to make a figure of a character with cape, it should be in soft goods and if not, then don't make a figure of that character at all lol. Such a waste of plastic and money if you're not gonna be able pose it like it should be. Buy a small statue instead.
QOTD: One Piece is my favorite anime, so I’m going to try to get all of the new releases, (excluding live action). They may not pose well, but they look really good
It’s top 3 worst lines in the entire history of the company. Like it is handled so poorly, recently they have been revealing some more promising ones(although they are pre timeskip which I do not perfer but quality is quality) but even then they aren’t anything special. The new figures seem to be mostly the same just with fixed qc issues. Luffys legs actually bend and while its only 90 degrees it’s better than before and they don’t fall off and Zoro actually functions despite the fact that it was built stupid to begin with. They aren’t anything amazing like the Naruto line but I will collect the new ones as they have some value. This one and before it aren’t worth any amount of money though. Noo they gave kenshin the bleach legs why😭

Cape actually does come off makes him 10x better
The Naruto line has been excellent but everything else is questionable.
No, just the One Piece line. Sorry to break it to you.
I think the cape should be made out of Polystyrene (excluding the joints). It's thick enough to be durable and light enough for the figure
Abs would be fine. The problem is the molding process.
The looseness in the torso must be a QC issue because mine is pretty stiff
