Correct Amber. Wrong Jessica. Target marketing controversy products to kids or to display to kids on purpose.

Jessica, come on! You think that "insurance" costs nothing and doesn't divert resources from more productive uses? There can be no excuse for property crime. People are directly or indirectly being looted.
It wasn’t just “conservatives”.
The vast majority were definitely conservatives.
@@rpena0899 I disagree.
@@tripledair really? You're telling me that there were liberals who were bitching about pride merch at Target?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I highly doubt that. Most liberals really don't care what other people are doing, wearing or selling.
I literally only heard conservatives talk about it. I follow a lot of conservative and progressive news shows and progressives covered the freak out but they didn't care about the actual clothes at all
@@rpena0899 well A: you're one person, so what you "only heard" doesn't say much. B: You probably heard that because of what you "follow".
But it's also important to consider that the views of a few...and when we're talking about LGBTQ we're talking about a disunified few...don't often reflect the views of the many.
Jessica needs to go check the definition of violence in a dictionary
She clearly said "colloquially" and mentioned the dictionary definition which is the definition that people only want to use when they want to demonize a peaceful protest. For the most part, when people think of the word 'violence', they do associate that with one person hurting another person, not the destruction of property.
@@goingyard06And those people need to understand the word better. And of course, if you think about it a bit, you would realize that it's difficult to violate other people's private property without at least threating of hurting them. 😂
@@ye333 So they threatened and hurt people to burn down the Target??? If somebody breaks into your car while you're at the movies, they threatened and hurt you in order to do it???
@@goingyard06 man you gotta stop changing the definitions of words
only when it suits whatever narrative you are pushing. You can’t say they weren’t violent sorry.
@SpaceMen508 How did I change the definition? Did I change it to say they were ecstatic? Lackadaisical? Jolly?
Jessica clearly doesn’t know how insurance policies work.
Interesting how she’s okay with property being damaged & destroyed. And no comment regarding the only confirmed bomb threat last year.
yes exactly! Their hightened insurance rates are passed off onto the consumer which hurts the community. the fact that she hasn't pondered that makes me wonder why she's even a paid commentator
*Target: "Since introducing this year's collection, we've experienced threats impacting our team members' sense of safety and well-being while at work."*
Let me translate this for you. "Sales were so bad we don't want these stuff in all our stores, just the select few where it actually sold. If you really want this stuff go online but we lost a lot of money on this last year and we don't want to do that again. Now, who can we blame?"
Actually, there were safety concerns --- but NOT from conservatives. They were from the rabid and unstable trans folks and their supporter who were upset when Target was moving stuff to less prominent places after the bad press they got online. They were the ones making threats of violence.
Exactly! I often wonder why no one goes to jail behind these threats. It’s easy to say the wrong thing out here and get traced down but not the people who threaten those who bolster their political potency by saying they were threatened. I mean do they just not follow up? If they get arrested why is it not news like the punch thing.
Can we please get Amber on the main show and not just Fridays, the preparation she puts into her appearances is evident in her calm and fact based statements. It would really benefit the mon-thurs show to have actual debates and not just screaming matches.

Thankfully, she is over on Reason the rest of the week.

Good! We dont need a Pride Month, its gotten ridiculously out of hand and obnoxious. A Pride Day or Pride Week is more than adequate.. Why dont these virtue signaling companies post the pride colors in the Muslim countries these companies do business in? They feel free to force their virtue signaling to Americans but not to Middel Eastern residents
Jessica is entirely too glib about the violence that often comes with property damage, as well as how easy it is for stores to deal with theft due to being covered by insurance. You think insurance companies don't raise their rates when claims are filed? Or even drop coverage entirely? So the stores don't need to make money because .... insurance ... and now the insurance companies don't need to make money because ... what? Think better, Jessica. On these matters, it is very easy, and she isn't dumb, so she's just being glib at best and even disingenuous. Not a good look.
Insurance companies don't raise their rates by the amount of the cost of the damage. The store's premiums go up a bit, but they are covered and don't have to face the full cost of damages.
@@squatch545 The problem is not necessarily of immediate damages, but that the insurance company gets alerted to reconsider your long-term risk. This can render a company uninsurable, either because the company can no longer afford the insurance or because the insurer can no longer afford to insure. Or merely finds it unprofitable to do so. Companies, like individuals, can be and indeed have had their rates raised significantly or even been dropped as customers. Insurance companies are not in the business of paying out claims at a loss, and regularly petition the government, where necessary, to drop unprofitable clients. And often it's just not necessary.
@@user-ps1ft1hy4j Target is in no danger of being dropped as an insurance client. They are a huge chain that any insurance company will hold onto as much as possible.
"That's what insurance is for" is one of the dumbest arguments out there. I once had someone in my community say "that's what insurance is for" to people complaining about kids shooting fireworks irresponsibly close to residential homes.
People who say this are clearly saying “I don’t believe in personal responsibility.”
So target is essentially digging their hole deeper by blaming angry customers? Lol. Never going back to their stores.
So you got uni bathrooms and angry customers. Best Place to spend my dime. Do I get to dodge bullets also. Got to keep up my cardio routine. Go to Target and perhaps walk away with a wound, and less money in my wallet. Yee Haa win win.

Companies are obligated to provide a safe workplace for their employees by law.
Also to assume employees were totally comfortable with mass crowds breaking windows and stealing mass quantities of goods is ridiculous. Of course they felt fear and threatened

Yes, because increase in risk of property loss wouldn't cause the insurance to increase. Submitting a claim has never resulted in a premium increase. Jessica really is clueless.

Freedom of expression sure, but public indecency, drag shows for kids, the right that matters most here is the right for parents to protect children
If I was a fly on the wall in the room this is how I think it went down. Target CEO: "We have extremely low sales of these products in cities that do not have a large population of LGBTQIA people, should we send products to stores that don't have a good sales history of these items, based on the analytics suipplied by the Supply Chain Team it cost an extra 25 cents per item to ship to stores. I think we should be more selective and consider cost before we roll out to all stores. what are your thoughts my group of minions?" All minions in the room agree and say yes we should only ship to stores with a high sales volume due to increase cost. One minion says "I think we will get push back form the LGBTQIA community for not offering nation wide?" CEO: "That is a good point...Yes I expect pushback as well, HMM. any thoughts?" Minion 2 of 20 says "Last year some employees felt threatened and harrased and unsafe by customers that disagree with us selling this merchandise, I say never let a crisis go to waste, spin it that we care about our employees safety is why we are more selective this year." CEO says: "Dang minion 2 that is a great idea, why didn't I think of that." Minion 2 gets promoted and the cycle continues.

B. 0m b threats were called in to multiple stores by the ABCXYZ community. Nobody remembers that? C'mon.
I doubt that there were "threats". They noticed that their sales and profits are down because people are boycotting their stores. Why are there so many LIARS in this country?
Sure, theft insurance is free! I’m sure there aren’t any imaginary premiums that skyrocket when claims are used over and over.
Even if you don’t like the merch, it’s sad the reason has to be because of employee safety due to the bad behavior of “customers”’last year. The everyday employees shouldn’t have to deal with being threatened or harassed. They definitely don’t get paid enough for that. If nobody buys the products then they won’t be sold next season. And if people do buy the product that you don’t like, tough. It’s their money.
But it's simply not true that the employees were being threatened with violence over this. You fed into the lie like most people who don't do their own research.

As a supermarket district manager with 25 years in the business…. There is no such thing as theft insurance. At least in grocery, I’m not sure about places like target.
I honestly don't know where that came from... Because no small business insurance that I presently know of includes that.
None. In order for my insurance to even care I would have to have a severe looting event or something similar.
Oh, hello liar. I can personally verify that such a thing exists having also worked in retail at a management position. Shrinkage, as it is called is an accepted part of business and built into retail insurance. Just like it is in your homeowners and renters insurance.
@@spamfilter32 shrink is forecasted and included in an operating budget quarterly, but in no way are you reimbursed for it via insurance. Shrink is part of a cost to do business but stores close when they can’t get their shrink under control. How much P&L analysis have you had to do as a “manager” in your company?? Or are you at a department manager level?
