You are the first to say battery is the same on both phones, I would switch to the P9PXL if battery can be 90% as good. This what convinced me to switch to OnePlus 12 from the awful battery of the P8P
Thanks for a great comparison. Owning both, I can't imagine choosing between them. The OP12 feels like a sleek, sporty convertible, while the 9 Pro XL is a luxury sedan. The 9 Pro XL's pure Android experience is as polished and reliable as my iPhone 14 Plus. In fact, the Pixel feels like an Android phone in an iPhone's body. Initially, I was bothered by the OP12's curved display and slippery design. However, a simple clear case resolved the issue with false touches on the edges and added some textured grip. While the OP12 may offer better value now, Google's long-term software support for the 9 Pro XL could shift the balance. Still, I doubt I'd keep either phone beyond three or four years.
Hey Mark, it's definitely worth noting that the pixel 9 pro XL which I have has a significant Bluetooth issue and it's on all pixels. I'm not sure if it's the hardware they're using or what, but it falls short on the Bluetooth range. It's worth testing because it's about 10 to 15 ft shorter than my Galaxy s23 ultra. The stability falls apart around 20 ft as opposed to my s23 ultra destroys the Bluetooth range compared to the pixel. The December feature update has fixed it a little bit example, instead of falling apart at 10 ft. Now it only falls apart at 20 ft. Just wanted to bring this to your attention. I have three of these phones and all three do it
If you're looking for a bargain, the One Plus is the way to go. I have both phones that you're reviewing and they both have their plus and minuses. I like both of them
i also have both although i still haven't opened my 128gb porcelain p9 pro xl. heck i haven't even opened my violet s24 ultra. and i got THAT in february! the op12 ended the life of my s24 ultra. a life it obviously never had to begin with. but i believe i'm gonna keep my flowy emerald 16/512 op12 forever. it just has EVERYTHING!
OnePlus 12 takes it for me. I really don't care too much about AI, and 7 years of updates seems like a gimmick to me. Who even keeps the same phone for 7 years? It will probably die or battery will go bad in the meantime. On the other hand OnePlus 12 just shows how overpriced other phones are. I got 512GB version for 900€ here in Europe, and it's absolute beast for that price.
I have seen that some people ahve problems with having to force close apps multiple times a day for them to work ,like snapchat and gmail. Had any problems like that?
I have the Google pixel XL pro and the OnePlus 12R and I got to be on his Gemini AI is fucking trash compared to Bing. That's on my other phone. Bing does a better job, but as far as both phones go, the camera on the Google phone is way better than the OnePlus 12R I surmise that's because they're using last year's model now. I would have loved to get the OnePlus 12 but they didn't have the green version I wanted so I was stuck getting the blue OnePlus 12r which I love. It's so fast and snappy and charges in 22 minutes. The pixel 9 pro takes me 72 minutes to charge. It's unacceptable
Bit confused about the battery? How is it possible that the battery of the Pixel lasts just as long as the OnePlus? I use the Pixel, and by the end of the day, I have around 20% left with 3 hours of screen usage. It discharges, and with an increasing number of apps, the optimization is no longer good. That's when the 'Super Energy Saver Mode' becomes necessary to make it last longer...
Oneplus 12 is better in my opinion, I had the pixel 8 pro,decent phone don't get me wrong, I now have the oneplus 12 and it's so much better than the pixel 8 pro,battery is much better,charges so much faster, better screen on the op12 to, after doing lots of research on the latest 9 pro xl,I can't justify the extra price for the 9 pro xl, op12 just seems much better value for the money,snapdragon gen 3 is far superior to the tensor 4. Has to be the op12 in my opinion.
This pixel 9 pro XL is a beautiful phone, but if you don't have a case, you're fucked. It's so slippery and I happen to love the OnePlus 12s design. I just don't like the curved screen either
I have both these phones but I have the 12R and I got to say the 12r blows the pixel 9 pro XL away. It's just better in every faucet outside of the camera. Everyday task on the OnePlus 12r is so much easier in fluider. It's just the more powerful machine. I do like this pixel xl9 pro but I got to take it back. It's just not as smooth and fluid and user friendly as the OnePlus 12R and I don't even have the good one. Plus 12. I got the generic version but the generic version charges from 0 to 100 and about 22 minutes it took over an hour and 10 minutes for this Google pixel 9 XL to charge which isn't bad. But it's no OnePlus winner OnePlus by a mile and I'm not even joking

Now that I see this it's just not enough to consider making the switch The pixel 9 is only kinda good by a little bit, if you care about selfies. Video and back camera photos oneplus looks great. It's way too early to feel like the pixel 9 will hold up, tensor has historically shown decline after a few months. OnePlus is the more reliable option and honestly it's doing an amazing job already
I had a Google Pixel 7 pro and I loved it but it took forever to charge The camera was great in it a lot better than the OnePlus 10T I had at the time now I have the OnePlus 12 r and I love it camera's not the greatest but I still love it charges and under 23 minutes
I have oneplus 12, iPhone 15 pro max and Pixel 9 pro XL...Oneplus is definitely thr best value for money.. Flagship killer..fantastic display, excellent battery life, charging speeds, good cameras, very good and useful customizations and it feels very fluid. It's a best value for money phone of the year 2024.

I was a long time OnePlus fan, but after the OnePlus 8 Pro (which I did like), they lost me, as I realised curved displays are not for me... so I've had no regrets moving to Pixel, and now rocking the 9 Pro XL. It's a shame that Google (like Apple), rip customers off for extra storage, and I can forgive the Tensor G4 performance, but why are we paying flagship prices for UFS3.1 storage and not UFS4.0?
I do hope they do away with the curved displays. I don't like them although the one on the OnePlus 12 are I don't even notice it but I do want them to do away with it
Decent review. I just bought a Pixel 9 Pro XL and I pretty much agree. The OnePlus is a close contender. However, there are an absolute ton of offers out there to reduce the P9 cost, I got mine $200 off without tradein on day one, making it a bit of an easier purchase decision. I'm personally in love with the Pixel Android experience, but those camera issues are slightly worrying. I vaguely remember similar bugs in past Pixels, so hopefully it'll be ironed out soon.
@@TFBenz If it makes you feel better, all of those camera issues are patched out already. My pixel experience so far has been glitch and hiccup free. If you can find a good deal, get a 9!
If we're considering price to performance, Oneplus 12 wins easily: if Im going to spend anywhere close to $1,000 on a smartphone long battery usage, fast-charging, great display, and a great processor should all be industry standards. I want my phone to be the best of the best in all categories if Im spending that much. However, this isn't the case, and Oneplus checks all those boxes at a fraction of the cost. On the flip side, if you're somone who cares about A.I., stock Android, photo quality, 7 year updates, and Google software features: then the Pixel would be for you.
I will go with the pixel simply because it is more reliable. One plus seems like a good deal but one plus is plagued with green line issues, phones dieing after software update, cameras getting poor etc etc. It precisely because of these issues that my friends have switched from one plus to other devices. I have used the nexus 5, pixel 2xl and then the pixel 7A all of these devices worked flawlessly with no issues.
T-Mobile has the Pixel 9 Pro XL starting at 256gb storage for $1000. They don't even have the 128gb as an option. I like my One Plus 12 a lot. I prefer Pixel UI. I think it will appeal to the most people. Especially those coming from iPhone.
I got the Google pixel 9 XL pro from T-Mobile 256 GB. I got to tell you I like the phone but it doesn't compare to my OnePlus 12R. The OnePlus 12R is so much better, faster and more fluidier. I wish OnePlus kept the old OS instead of that new Keller OS, but that's besides the point. OnePlus is a better phone, but some people do like the pixel and I don't have a problem with that
One thing I hate on the Google pixel phone is I hate gestures. I like the back button on the right side and you can't remap it so I'm forced to use gestures on this phone and I hate the gesture move. I like using the back button on the right. It just sucks you can't remap them and I know people will say it's 2024 who uses the navigation buttons. A 79-year-old Beast like myself does
I confess something to you, if after seeing this test of which phone is faster and more powerful, believe me, I will definitely stay with the Pixel 9 and why? Well, because it offers me 7 guaranteed years within its software update policy, which together with Samsung, are the best in the long term. Because this OnePlus 12 only offers 4 years and that's it, and 7 years are 7 years and no Chinese manufacturer will be able to match it, it is not in their interest. IMHO!
I love OnePlus but the biggest deal breaker is not getting as long support as the Pixel plus you get android updates faster on the 9 pro xl. Charging speeds are cool but most reviewers neglected to say that faster charging will also degrade the battery faster too. Then in my experience the cameras are pretty bad compared to other flagships.
Since it is actually two batteries and it has a bunch of internal temperature sensors and a dedicated charging chip, I don't think it will matter that much. You could say it is charging each battery with 50W, which is closer to what other phones have.
I had a OnePlus 10t that I've been using for 2 years before I got my OnePlus 12R and the battery charged in 18 minutes and the degradation never happened. It still lasts me 12 to 13 hours daily and charged in 18 minutes. That's false information there
-I charge my OP12 every other day for about 20 minutes and i'm good to go. - Was charging my Pixel 5a every single day for 90-100 minutes or so.... Died on me after 1,5 years. Now guess which method is better for battery longevity.
No need for the official one, as per google pixel guidelines: We recommend you use the Google 30 W or 45 W USB-C power adapter or any Programmable Power Supply (PPS) power adapter rated for 30 W or more. You could also use other USB Power Delivery (PD) adapters rated for 15 W or more.
Actually I m using 9 pro xl since two days. But charging speed is disaster. It's around between 1000 ma and max 2000 ma. I tried a few cable charge ets everything but nothing changed. I used Nubia charge, Ugreen 45watt, macbook adaptor and all same. I was thinking to buy original google charge but is guys says not important so I feel really bad @@nexxxuno

Ansd one plus is way more powerful. Absolutely Destroys the pixel on the singel and multi score on benchmark testing.... Literally Double the score on the multicore compared to the pixel.
After the last update .840 one oneplus 12 camera quality became impressive. Better than s23 ultra and closer to s24 ultra. So I suggest the users to not update your phone further if you care about picture quality.
You can't compare the two. They are different phones for different purposes. Apples & oranges. One is a Chinese brand that's not on U.S. carriers. The other is available on all carriers. It may be a different issue in other countries but oneplus devices are frowned upon in the US.
The OnePlus 12 is available to purchase here in the US and can be used with any carrier in the US. Its sold directly via bestbuy or OnePlus' website. I've tried it both on ATT and T-Mobile with no issues. In fact, it's data speeds are incredible. I'm consistently getting between 800-1000mbps download
I don't think you realize Chinese phones are better than any other phones in the market. Also, the OnePlus is available for T-Mobile and AT&T and the OnePlus is a better phone than the Google pics so it's not even close. I vow anyone that owns both of them to come away telling me that the Google's better you can't trust me the OnePlus 12 are is even better than the Google pixel 9 pro. That's why I'm taking the nine pro XL back

@cascer123 I've always wondered why all the cool features we get in the States don't make it over there. I don't think it's just a Google thing, though. I think it might be something to do with EU regulations. They're a lot stricter over there, and that might be why we get all the goodies. But hey, I'm not complaining! 2 cons of oneplus: very slow scrolling, kind of laggy. It makes all impression bad. And it's heavy. Not well balanced. Hard to hold it for long with one hand. And battery life is not that amazing as people say. The rest is very good
The most I'm interested in is how the phone works. Any review I see, no one mentions that. There is noticeable difference when you compare exynos or mediatec to snapdragon. The latter, even half the power still works better. The same with iPhone comparisons, no one mentions how limited ios is. This is not a review
Camera always have been the weakest part of OnePlus. Although they have significantly improved, their selfie camera is bad... Even the back camera is just decent when it comes to human subjects but other than that, it's great! It takes eye pleasing pictures and after the last update, the 3x has improved and colour looks more natural.
The pixel is more expensive for a reason. It's common sense and if you're broke it is what it is. It seems Pixel phones has developed since the 7 pro. That was the most disappointing phone I've had. Now it's only the slow charging, flat display and of course the price that really stops me for considering a Pixel again. It's about the same 400$ price difference here in Sweden 😊
I love the pixel 7 pro but it charged so slow like almost 2 hours. This pixel 9 pro XL charges in 70 minutes which isn't bad but my OnePlus charges it under $20
Oneplus lost their ways after the OnePlus 8 pro. I used to be on the OnePlus 7 pro and the 8 pro. After that I ditched them and now it's team pixel all day long.

I got the generic version but the generic version charges from 0 to 100 and about 22 minutes it took over an hour and 10 minutes for this Google pixel 9 XL to charge which isn't bad. But it's no OnePlus winner OnePlus by a mile and I'm not even joking

I hate curved displays, although I didn't mind them on the pixel 7 pro. The OnePlus 12R has a curved display and I'll be honest with you. I don't even notice it

I had a Google Pixel 7 pro and I loved it but it took forever to charge The camera was great in it a lot better than the OnePlus 10T I had at the time now I have the OnePlus 12 r and I love it camera's not the greatest but I still love it charges and under 23 minutes

I have oneplus 12, iPhone 15 pro max and Pixel 9 pro XL...Oneplus is definitely thr best value for money.. Flagship killer..fantastic display, excellent battery life, charging speeds, good cameras, very good and useful customizations and it feels very fluid. It's a best value for money phone of the year 2024.
what Phone is better overall? In my case very important fotos, far pictures, macro and night pictures. The Pixel9 Pro, the Honor Magic 6 Pro or the OnePlus 12? Only i go with the optics, i go for the One Plus 12 with the nice green color and curved display

I was a long time OnePlus fan, but after the OnePlus 8 Pro (which I did like), they lost me, as I realised curved displays are not for me... so I've had no regrets moving to Pixel, and now rocking the 9 Pro XL. It's a shame that Google (like Apple), rip customers off for extra storage, and I can forgive the Tensor G4 performance, but why are we paying flagship prices for UFS3.1 storage and not UFS4.0?

The pixels also only UFS 3.1 storage... Google not only cheap out on the G4 but on the memory
Decent review. I just bought a Pixel 9 Pro XL and I pretty much agree. The OnePlus is a close contender.
However, there are an absolute ton of offers out there to reduce the P9 cost, I got mine $200 off without tradein on day one, making it a bit of an easier purchase decision.
I'm personally in love with the Pixel Android experience, but those camera issues are slightly worrying.
I vaguely remember similar bugs in past Pixels, so hopefully it'll be ironed out soon.
Oneplus is not a close contender but overall a better phone for the value.

My pixel experience so far has been glitch and hiccup free. If you can find a good deal, get a 9!
OnePlus phone is the value for money smartphone.. for gamers its best I guess but for social media / business users maybe pixel was good.
Also, the earpiece on the pixel XL9 pro is weak compared to the OnePlus 12R. It's like one's real loud and the other is real soft
If we're considering price to performance, Oneplus 12 wins easily: if Im going to spend anywhere close to $1,000 on a smartphone long battery usage, fast-charging, great display, and a great processor should all be industry standards. I want my phone to be the best of the best in all categories if Im spending that much. However, this isn't the case, and Oneplus checks all those boxes at a fraction of the cost.
On the flip side, if you're somone who cares about A.I., stock Android, photo quality, 7 year updates, and Google software features: then the Pixel would be for you.
I will go with the pixel simply because it is more reliable.
One plus seems like a good deal but one plus is plagued with green line issues, phones dieing after software update, cameras getting poor etc etc. It precisely because of these issues that my friends have switched from one plus to other devices.
I have used the nexus 5, pixel 2xl and then the pixel 7A all of these devices worked flawlessly with no issues.
T-Mobile has the Pixel 9 Pro XL starting at 256gb storage for $1000. They don't even have the 128gb as an option. I like my One Plus 12 a lot. I prefer Pixel UI. I think it will appeal to the most people. Especially those coming from iPhone.
I got the Google pixel 9 XL pro from T-Mobile 256 GB. I got to tell you I like the phone but it doesn't compare to my OnePlus 12R. The OnePlus 12R is so much better, faster and more fluidier. I wish OnePlus kept the old OS instead of that new Keller OS, but that's besides the point. OnePlus is a better phone, but some people do like the pixel and I don't have a problem with that

One thing I hate on the Google pixel phone is I hate gestures. I like the back button on the right side and you can't remap it so I'm forced to use gestures on this phone and I hate the gesture move. I like using the back button on the right. It just sucks you can't remap them and I know people will say it's 2024 who uses the navigation buttons. A 79-year-old Beast like myself does

I confess something to you, if after seeing this test of which phone is faster and more powerful, believe me, I will definitely stay with the Pixel 9 and why? Well, because it offers me 7 guaranteed years within its software update policy, which together with Samsung, are the best in the long term. Because this OnePlus 12 only offers 4 years and that's it, and 7 years are 7 years and no Chinese manufacturer will be able to match it, it is not in their interest. IMHO!

I love OnePlus but the biggest deal breaker is not getting as long support as the Pixel plus you get android updates faster on the 9 pro xl. Charging speeds are cool but most reviewers neglected to say that faster charging will also degrade the battery faster too. Then in my experience the cameras are pretty bad compared to other flagships.

Since it is actually two batteries and it has a bunch of internal temperature sensors and a dedicated charging chip, I don't think it will matter that much. You could say it is charging each battery with 50W, which is closer to what other phones have.
I had a OnePlus 10t that I've been using for 2 years before I got my OnePlus 12R and the battery charged in 18 minutes and the degradation never happened. It still lasts me 12 to 13 hours daily and charged in 18 minutes. That's false information there

Actually I m using 9 pro xl since two days. But charging speed is disaster. It's around between 1000 ma and max 2000 ma. I tried a few cable charge ets everything but nothing changed. I used Nubia charge, Ugreen 45watt, macbook adaptor and all same. I was thinking to buy original google charge but is guys says not important so I feel really bad @@nexxxuno

Ansd one plus is way more powerful. Absolutely Destroys the pixel on the singel and multi score on benchmark testing.... Literally Double the score on the multicore compared to the pixel.
Based from those photos that you posted in the video the oneplus does decent pictures but they are quite clearly worse than the ones of the pixel.

After the last update .840 one oneplus 12 camera quality became impressive. Better than s23 ultra and closer to s24 ultra. So I suggest the users to not update your phone further if you care about picture quality.

You can't compare the two. They are different phones for different purposes. Apples & oranges. One is a Chinese brand that's not on U.S. carriers. The other is available on all carriers. It may be a different issue in other countries but oneplus devices are frowned upon in the US.
The OnePlus 12 is available to purchase here in the US and can be used with any carrier in the US. Its sold directly via bestbuy or OnePlus' website. I've tried it both on ATT and T-Mobile with no issues. In fact, it's data speeds are incredible. I'm consistently getting between 800-1000mbps download

I don't think you realize Chinese phones are better than any other phones in the market. Also, the OnePlus is available for T-Mobile and AT&T and the OnePlus is a better phone than the Google pics so it's not even close. I vow anyone that owns both of them to come away telling me that the Google's better you can't trust me the OnePlus 12 are is even better than the Google pixel 9 pro. @cascer123 I've always wondered why all the cool features we get in the States don't make it over there. I don't think it's just a Google thing, though. I think it might be something to do with EU regulations. They're a lot stricter over there, and that might be why we get all the goodies. But hey, I'm not complaining! I just wish everyone could experience the same level of greatness that the Pixel exhibits in their phones.

2 cons of oneplus:
very slow scrolling, kind of laggy. It makes all impression bad.
And it's heavy. Not well balanced. Hard to hold it for long with one hand. And battery life is not that amazing as people say.
The rest is very good
The most I'm interested in is how the phone works. Any review I see, no one mentions that. There is noticeable difference when you compare exynos or mediatec to snapdragon. The latter, even half the power still works better. The same with iPhone comparisons, no one mentions how limited ios is. This is not a review
The Oneplus mobiles are great in terms of hardware, but I prefer the Pixel because of the update guarantee.
The OnePlus hands down, No question about it. Maybe next year google can compete but not now.

Camera always have been the weakest part of OnePlus. Although they have significantly improved, their selfie camera is bad... Even the back camera is just decent when it comes to human subjects but other than that, it's great! It takes eye pleasing pictures and after the last update, the 3x has improved and colour looks more natural.
The pixel is more expensive for a reason. It's common sense and if you're broke it is what it is.

Oneplus blows this pixel away. I have both of them. Trust me, it's not even a comparison and I have the generic 12R. I don't even have the good version. Everything that I do on the OnePlus is faster and smoother and more fluid than the pixel. The only thing that the pixel has better than my 12r is the camera. I just don't think you can afford to get a great phone like the OnePlus. It's okay

I got the pixel 9 XL pro last week. I wanted to try it out cuz I did like the pixel 7 pro but I got to be honest with you I'm taking it back. I love this phone but the OnePlus 12R is just a better phone. It's not even close. The only thing better on this pixel is the camera and if I had the OnePlus 12 that's in this video. I could probably do a better comparison for camera

google voice dictation is aboslutely rubbish for anyone who doesn't have an american accent I reckon. It gets it wrong all the time on my pixel, and the voice commands are too slow. So you end up typing "send" instead of your whatsapp sending through

It seems Pixel phones has developed since the 7 pro. That was the most disappointing phone I've had. Now it's only the slow charging, flat display and of course the price that really stops me for considering a Pixel again. It's about the same 400$ price difference here in Sweden 😊

Oneplus lost their ways after the OnePlus 8 pro. I used to be on the OnePlus 7 pro and the 8 pro. After that I ditched them and now it's team pixel all day long.
The pixel is a niche phone. It doesn't mean it's a bad phone. It's just not a great phone. I personally think the pixel 7 pro was a better phone but not as good. Looking as the 9 pro XL the nine pro XL is a very good looking phone and I got to say I do or maybe I'm in the minority. I actually like the looks of that marble green OnePlus 12 that I wish I had instead of the 12R. I wanted that phone but I couldn't get it because it was going to take 3 and 1/2 weeks and I'm really buttered right now that's why I keep on commenting
