The town in the game is called Alivieska, as there is an actual town in Finland called Alavieska near me. The map isn't like the actual town at least now, I was there last yesterday. Teimon kauppa is an actual building somewhere in more southern Finland. And the beer, "Nivalan kalia", is of course meant to be from Nivala, my hometown, even though I think we never had a brewery. Also the radio in game has ads for Nivala's "Tuiskula", the local nightclub which happens to be the biggest nightclub in Finland and the nordic countries. The ad mentions a performance of E-Type and some other artists I can't recall right now, I haven't heard if Tuiskula had E-Type but it could be possible. Back in the day Tuiskula got many finnish artists and bands like Juice Leskinen and Eppu Normaali, and even foreign bands like Motörhead, Uriah Heep and even Metallica.

You can drive your car to inspection office, but book a time in forehand so you can show that to police if they stop you on the way there. Also if your car fails the test and you have to fix something, you can drive your car once again from the shop to inspection. But car must always be registered. Unregistered car is always a no-no.

I love how you call it "mökki road" 😂 and I think you can make the mirrors work from the graffic settings but Im not 100% sure
There's a toggle on the graphics menu yes. The default is mirrors on so the original player must have turned it off
I'm more into learning Finnish than gaming, but I really enjoyed this! Last time I played a computer game it was Forbidden Forest on my boyfriend's Commodore 64 circa 1984 ... things have moved on, I see 🤣🤣🤣

The car (Datsun 100 A) is from the early 1970s, and it could very well have been someone's summer car in 1995.

Most cars have warning triangle ("varoituskolmio") near the spare tire. It's usually inside a red plastic container which measures about 4 x 12 x 45 cm.

Bad feelings about that car. My cousin and four of my friends lost their life wiht damn Datsun 100A. It happens more than 30 years ago but I still get bad feelings when I see this car.
Two of my neighbors crashed with each other where I grew up. One with a Datsun 100A and the other in a Saab 900. The Datsun could not drive to the parking lot as one of it’s front wheels was jammed by the wrinkled body plates. On the Saab there was only one tiny crack in one of the signal lights and some paint of the Datsun on it’s front bumper. You could not tell that the Saab had been in a crash.
The first MSC commentary with (almost) zero swearing 😄. And no death scenes either.Unreal.

I remember when once we were going to mökki and our neighbor was leaving at the same time and we had to pass each other on a road that was barely more than 1 car wide so both had to go through some tall grass. Luckily there wasn't ditches like in MSC.

I think you can drive unregistered car to a test center legally, if cops pull you over you gotta have proof though, usually its the appointment receipt to the test center. I've heard cops can even follow you there if they don't have anything better to do.
I love this game and I love how it attracts new players every day we need to support the dev as much as we can as there is a sequel in development!

Oh man I haven't played this for ages! I have to start it up again one day. Last play I didn't manage to start the car, I have no idea why
First trip was negative . That Dadsun Cheryy 100 is npt for speed 140 or 150 km/h but max 125 km/h and regular 80 -110 km/h
Didn't know this game is set in Finland, therefor expected either WRC, Dirt Rally or BeamNG as "Finnish Driving Simulators"...
Looking back from the back window instead of the mirrors is not a good start
i got the warning triangle in the boot tho katsastusmies has never even once actually opened the boot so i think they don't really care about it
You should get lockable wheels for that chair! They cost like 20€ and take only a few minutes to swap in place.

Reminds me of leaving Heathrow car rental in middle of the night and the car infront of us exited to the wrong side of the road (motorway-ish 3-lanes per side), still wonder how long it took the driver to realize that the sings are wrong way.
When we were in the UK in 2010 with my family, my dad was trying to drive a roundabout in the wrong direction late at night. He realizes this and just stops. After I yelled at him he drove out of the roundabout, still the wrong way. This was the only problem we had with driving on, for us, the wrong side of the road.

Also known as "The choke". 😄 Used to drive my Audi 80 back in the day with hand-choke half pulled, and it worked great at lower speeds 40km/h - 60km/h. Not good for the engine and fuel economy, but little did I care.

The Datsun 100A you used here is more like 1986 instead of 1995. Those cars probably had that amount of rust being near 10 years old

Its not that simple. If you dont get your driver's license swaped over from UK, Australia and NZ or South Africa before the first 2 years of living there you will fork out thousands to get your finnish licence.

This game is such a big nightmare it's full of bugs and building the car is so dumb since it takes so long and requires a lot of time and attention I mean hell I have around 200 hours on my summer car and I've gotten the car started like 3 times because half the time it just simply does not work I've built the car correctly many times hell at this point I can probably memorize the entire thing but still it doesn't start because some of the parts are broken and thus the car won't start or then it just completely random hell sometimes the car just doesn't work i built it correctly and then still it just won't start i mean it will start but it won't start moving like literally I've gotten the car to move maybe twice and I got it trough inspection once and even then the car broke down like 10 minutes later
