Two piece driveshaft has alignment marks, you need to put it back together the same way it came out. Where the two halves meet look for either White or yellow paint dots, there are also engraved arrows that look similar to this ___\ /___. Change the center support bearing and boot if it needs it as well. Thanks for that rear wheel bearing video, think it might be the only one of its kind.
Thanks! I did put them back exactly the same way, and i do believe that the hole alignment makes its impossible to do it wrong? of course you could put the u joint on 180degrees out though... Thanks for watching!
I was thinking the problem might have been the prop shaft but talked myself out of it. The prop shaft may also need balancing, just like a wheel, as this can cause the shaking you were talking about. I watched an early episode of wheeler dealers, not sure if you have sent it and, they were doing up a mark one Ford Escort where they refurbished a prop shaft and had it balanced. Still the wheel bearing change was informative and good to watch. I wish you well with it.
Haha yea- I should really have investigated the issue more before jumping to the wheel bearing... but as the front ones was completely worn out, the rear was most likely on there way as well... either way i hope the video can help someone in the future.. :) Thanks Steven
Just found your channel-fellow Volvo enthusiast here. Would you mind doing a video on your fog light/driving light setup? I noticed they were mounted behind the grille in some of your thumbnails. Cooling issues/mounting points? I’d appreciate it! Keep up the good work!
Hello and thanks for watching! The fog lights was on the car when i brought it... they where fitted with strips and with so many wires you wont believe it! the first thing i did was to remove them all.... It was not done properly. Cooling did not seem to be affected tho... but Denmark is a pretty cool country.. ;)
What symptoms did you get? I am having a vibration or noise at speed. 240 estate, been advised one of the rear wheel bearings click on rotation but not sure if this is the issue, as you mention here. The vibration and wurring noise feels like it's under the transmission tunnel.
I got vibration and very bad noise especially when deaccelerating. I would take a look at the bearings on the propshaft... If they are stiff it is most likely your problem... :)

Well at least now after you install the new U Joint everything is done that can go wrong..thats a win in my eyes 👍
Exactly! it will be ready for many many km after that. :)
Another good video. For a "non professional " you do a good job, even the explanations are very nice 👍
Thank you!
Great Videos. I own similar Volvo and your videos help me with its maintenance. Thanks.
Thats great! thanks for watching!
