It's amazing what You Tube throws at you. I've loved this song for over 30 years, pretty much know every note. I was captivated by this arrangement, couldn't take my eyes off their fingers. Thank you so much for sharing.
One of my favorite Crimson songs. Great idea to transcribe it for piano. I got to see the original group play it in 1974. Damn were they great. How about doing a piano arrangement of Bartok's 4th string quartet, last movement, Allegro Molto. Thanks!
Saw the original lineup (minus Muir) play this and it's one of the most dramatic concert experiences ever. That band's power was unlimited. Great rendition!
I loved the original version of LTIA pt. 2 on the album but I've always had the nagging feeling that the definitive version doesn't exist. The original was as close is it gets but later live versions turned it into a tour de force but without that original spooky violin that made it so special. Now after hearing this it makes me think that if the original had incorporated a piano it could have transformed the piece into something a lot more dynamic and versatile. Even this stripped down version has a vital something that the original doesn't have. Maybe it's because I love piano. Well done indeed though.
I don't know man, to me the definitive version is the live version on Melody. It's pretty much just fucking perfect as far as I'm concerned🤣 the right tempo and the violin and the heaviness, it's amazing🙌
This is such a great rendition. I've been listening to this song for about 38 years - I remember listening to USA incessantly while in high school, and it's been with me ever since. There are so many good things about this version - thx for doing it and sharing it. What sticks out for me here, is how LTIAP2 is such an uplifting song. I'm not sure what other people think but it's just so clear to me that the song is about a journey from / through adversity to triumph and joy
@HeavyMetalWorkshop Explain to that fool what harmonic complexity is. SOme people don't hear complexity in music unless someone is blazing up and down a scale. This tune reminds me of Stravinsky. You two are amazing, thanks for making me ear's day!
Wonderful version and transcription. Also great to see it played as a four hander. And it looks like such fun to play! Thanks so much and I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your content. Instant subcriber.
Absolutely exceptional. Fripp made a valiant attempt to bring rock band structure to true ensemble playing. Anyone notice the hat tip to Stravinsky? In any case, great great performance!!!
Wow! That looked a lot of fun. Played on piano for 4 hands, that must be Bartok influence that I can hear. Did Progressive Metal start with the album Larks' Tongues in Aspic? Or did it start with Bela Bartok?
oops, a little late to the show, but this is so great on a lot of levels, particularly to help visualize a complicated score! and played with such enthusiasm, you are fantastically gifted, can't wait to hear more!

Robert Fripp just shared this on facebook. :-)
Really?
@@frankball8378 yes!
You guys catched the spirit of the song perfectly! To me it sounds a bit like Bartók meets KC, hehe.
Indeed..
Larks' tongues in Mikrokosmos
Listen to bartoks string quartet 4 movement 5 and you will hear the inspiration
Damn, whoever made this transcription has some good ears. Great performance.

Bartok was main inspiration I suppose

Just seeing this. Great!!

отличный кавер
*It just works*
Wow, they even nailed the violin solo. Kudos
2-hand, 3-hand, 4-hand, cross-hand with last note 1-hand, love it....
Best gay couple ever
Just realized how much this sounds like Prokofiev
Wow. Excellent.
You totally rocked it!! Fabulous!
This is a great arrangement. Is it possible to get the notation? Thanks!
Very nice! You make it sound like Antheil jamming with Nancarrow.
fantastic.
THAT is enviable. Thank you
Impressive!
Nicely done.
Amazing!
LOVE THIS. Haunting....
Great Work!!! Keep the Crimson Alive!!!
SUPERB. A terrific reading.
this is beautiful
I picked up an Astor Piazzolla vibe I've never gotten from this piece before, when two different parts were being played together. 😁
Good work.
「春の山菜」とかバルトークみたいだ。バロックの方向に行かないからクリムゾンは好きだ。
Yes Bartok!
Beautiful. Thank you!
