some tips for a lot of people to have no issue about pebble stuck in the servo saver or wheels, and also reduce overheating. Use some 1/10 wheels and cut a little the body, bigger wheels will not go slick and break on 3s also reducing body scrach and absorbing most of the impact. Cut also a small window in the body where the motor fan is since is blockig the heat inside . Do not use the dust cover! it traps the pebbles inside and i had more issue with it than without, also not allowing the electronic to properly ventilate.
Bigger wheels kept the pebbles from your servo? I get, that it will lift the truck and will have more clearance inside the tire, but how can you save the servo? I have the same problem.
I recently picked up the mjx hypergo 14301. It is my favorite rc car I’ve owned so far. Drifting with the street tires on 3s lipo is so fun! It’s amazing to say the least , especially for the price.

I decided to place an order for this rc and had to watch this video again 😁. I probably shouldn't have placed the order, but I've been wanting an rc to bomb around the parking lot at work. Very nice model, is fast, and i like the hard rubber tyres, it's a very good option for fast drift. Plus i like the editing when you put your kids in funny scenes. You do very well man, try don't lose it.
You ought to think about making really small ramps for this thing. Come to find out it jumps very well with a small ramp. It don't bounce around It lands really really nice.
We jumped this a little bit off the big ramp in a video not long ago. Max did. Don’t remember which video lol Maybe a month or two ago. I actually am going to make a small ramp or two and another obstacle. 😃
Great content brother, got 2 of these myself for me & my son (13yr) i have a small oval inside short carpet track , in my basement and we have so much fun with this truck, i strongly recommend it most definitely! Price and quality is on point! Iam usually like you have a ton of Traxxas, losi, TA, Arrma etc, these and wltoys are the only ones we mess with outside of the other stuff, great fun. I love this truck! I bought both versions back when they first came out, before it came with a gyro. I’m telling you this thing is planted and control’s amazing. You don’t even need the gyro. It is a nice touch though. I don’t bother with the inside cover anymore, it doesn’t really work. I think it actually traps stuff in. Oh and FYI Those soft tires don’t last long on 3s lol. You’ll have slicks before you know it 🤣🤣
Ya I think I decided no gyro is better. Ya they needed to close the front of the dust cover more as the front tires lock everything right inside there lol. Definitely learned on those hard rubbers and I’m sure the softies are just as bad lol!
@@DerbyCityRC I can’t speak to how it is with the gyro cause mine doesn’t have it. It handles so nice without. The weight of the truck really helps it. I do have gyro in a few of my other cars and I’m not a big fan of it. I always have it off. I prefer the soft i tires but they burn out wicked fast on 3s. They’re like 30 bucks for a new set too!!

Great review! This trucks looks like a lot of fun! I'm ordering one right now! Stinks about the pebble issue. Do you think running it without the dust cover would help? I'm thinking rocks are coming off the tires and deflecting off the dust cover right into the steering. For 4wd drifting I prefer no gyro. I also have a rwd drift car and that needs a gyro to help with counter steer. I think the gyro on this car is like AVC and helps you stay in a straight line where as a drift gyro does the opposite.
I thought about trying it without the cover but never did. Personally I don’t think it would have helped as with the truck turned to the right, the front right tire just throws everything right into that area and likely would either way. I agree after watching some more it worked better with the gyro off. Definitely helped on full throttle take off though.

You should review some battery chargers and batteries. I personally love your channel and I've noticed many people love your channel for the same reasons. You're a very real guy. You don't BS people. You don't sell us an RC, you have fun with the ones you have and tell us your opinion then recommend what you personally consider to be best and you've made some fantastic recommendations. Like the HBX 2995. Pretty much everyone I know that owns one including myself, owns one because of you.

Ya that wiggle was fierce! But it did a good job of keeping it from spinning out on full throttle. I think I finally decided I prefer it all the way off or just way down also.
I just got this one for my son and I. Weve been loving it, however how is the range on yours? If we take it any more than 30 feet away then we lose connection and how to go get it. We have the H14BM and I can take it crazy far with no problems. Other than thats its been so much fun.
I would make sure you have good batteries in the controller, and I would open the receiver box and see if something is wrong with the antenna wire. It should definitely have plenty more range than 30 feet. Could be a defective remote or receiver too of course but hopefully not!
@@DerbyCityRC I did check all that. I put new batteries when I got it. Then while playing with it I swapped the batteries from another controller that was working fine. The antenna wire looks good also. I'm going to have Amazon exchange this one out.

I got one a couple of weeks ago, i decided to put some 12mm wheel extenders on it straight out of the box . Turned it into the f1 of drift cars have not been able to roll it even on 3s. I have the citroen as well but standard and it comfortably outperforms it. Seams to handles even better as well. Worth the $10 upgrade mate, turned it into my favourite RC 👍
2 tires for the 14mk are the width of common duck tape, which is handy because it means you can easily get left and right tires when you tape them up. slice down the middle and there's no excess (or just enough for the edge). i've been thru 12000mah 2s constant drifting on tarmac and zero wear, those tpr tires would have been toast in the same time
@@DerbyCityRC the other thing that made this car a lot more enjoyable for me was a dumborc gyro with gain on the transmitter. 1/3 gives a good feel for throttle steering, off when the understeer is annoying and you just wanna thrash around. and having the stand alone gyro is handy to try out in other RCs

It might fit, they're both pickup-style bodies. Though the 'infraction' body needs a quite bit of wheel arc trimming since it is much wider than the stock 14210, which is as wide as the chassis
Considering it ate all those pesky pebbles and high speed crashes, fact nothing broke is pretty impressive. Can't wait to see the customization video lol
WOW I can't believe you hose the RC car with water LOL I have never done that before and too afraid to do that. I saw some people has put in 3S pack and after a few runs, the internal metal gear/tooth are stripping. That's terribly unfortunate to those folks.
I don’t hose them down often lol, but this one needed it, and needed it quickly. I haven’t stripped any gears but I believe the newer models of HyperGo now have better gears. Like the 14210. I’ll be looking inside it to see and that video should be out on Friday.

Got mine a few days ago. Don’t always have room to run it on a 3s so 2s is just fine as well. Came with a busted shock though. Waiting on parts. Lil rocket on 3s

But hey I’m using a Ovonic Air 2200 mah 35c •3S1p 11.1V •24.42wh battery and I noticed the connection to the battery to the connection to the ESC has melted after maybe 3 uses. I don’t run my packs out and and am very delicate when running my stuff btw. Not that experienced with 3s batteries more of a car audio guy. My guess is I’m not running a proper voltage battery or the lil housing just melted cause it’s not made for the heat the battery connection makes. Any info I’d appreciate
Haha, I know. That’s weird cuz that shouldn’t happen. Your bath voltage should be good. Is it excessively hot out where you are? Even still, I’ve never had that problem!
You got a part number for those stiffer springs by chance? It looks like the shocks are the same as my 16208 so I'm thinking those might be nice for the rear axle
I took the clear lexan off my MJX Citroen and found it a lot better in regards to collecting dirt and pebbles... those covers suck, it just traps all that crud in there so when you run it without it, it slides right on out of there. I call those covers garbage collectors. Thanks for the great video mate! Take care.
Being how many cars we have, we don’t get to drive every one all too much, however, we had the differential screws back out causing it to bind inside the diff housing. I’ve had to tighten them once or twice now. No true breaks yet though!
Thanks for this, especially the part about tinkering with gyro settings, as I'm a peasant and have never ran a gyro before. Side note: i noticed the manufacturer recommends setting gyro to 75%
Excelent review, as all of them! Maybe you could do a video/tutorial on how you clean, lube and maintain your cars after playing in the mud/sand/wet grass. Maybe 2 parts? ("waterproof" ones and the ones that are not...)
Love it!!! I am tempted to get one. I would mostly use indoor for drifting fun. I have ca. 600 sqft. Max room length is about 33 ft, max width 20 ft and average width 140 ft. Would it work or it's too beasty and fast for that area? Thanks everyone for your input. Very much appreciated
You could use it there, but I think you’d outgrow that space pretty quick. However with the plastic wheels it comes with, you could certainly have some fun there.
Very informative video. If you do get a taste for drifting I recommend the cheap UDIRC 1/16 brushed series of cars. They also have a gyro and drift tires. However I prefer the rubber road tires and the gyro turned off. Anyway thanks for all the info

Do you have any idea if there is a package for this where you can get the 14301-14303 bodies, together? If you use the 14302 or 14303 bodies, does that change the scale of the automobile because the body makes the proportions different? It seems like it should since scale IS based on comparative proportions, right? BTW, seriously think about trying to order this, but with the rally or drift body.
I don’t know I haven’t seen one with those bodies together. I believe they’re all still 1/14 scale, but yes it’s technically sized off what the real car measures at. The really bodies are definitely awesome looking for sure!!

When you put the 14302 body on, that same man would be child sized getting in that rally car. 'See? To simplify the process of actually measuring the cars, if a car is truly 1/10 scale, than any 1/10 average man should be able to fit in with the same ease a real man would be able to enter the real-life counterparts. Does that make my question any different?

How’s it holding up? I got mine yesterday and went through both 2s packs as well as 2 3s battery’s. Rear hub broke and I had to glue it back together. Spur gear completely stripped out on me.
Mine arrived a couple of days ago, and it pulls to the left. I think I set it right, but I still can't use it. I heard that this is an uncommon problem with the Amazon version, but I can't find a solution on the web. I've even asked folks on in my Facebook groups to silence. 'Any ideas?
Do you help people with fixing? I bought one of these for my son. Servo died. Ordered a new one, when i connect the steering, and turn it on it automatically steers hard to the right and then the spring opens up and gets stuck. Any ideas?
Did the old servo do the same thing or did it just die completely? What happens if you plug the old servo in now and turn it all on? With the new servo, will it still steer hard to the right even if the controller is off but the car is on?
@@DerbyCityRC thanks for replying. No, the old servo drive s dead. Connected to the servo are 2 curve pieces that fit together held with a spring and screw. When it goes hard to the right they open up and get stuck open. The screw is as tight as it will go so not sure why that is happening.
If you mean the gyro is reversed, all you have to do is (like the manual says) when the truck is on, hit the button (I forget if you hit button once or twice) on top of the gyro, and the light should change from green to red, or red to green. I forget. Read the manual for full info. If your regular steering is reversed (not the gyro reversed) then that means you installed an aftermarket gyro, and I don't know how to fix that aside from getting a new transmitter and receiver. 😢
This thing does more rolls than a bakery if you try and turn under throttle on 3S I have a suspicion my uhhh enthusiast driving style is part of the problem
Hooked up to channel 3? I once got mine (14303) wire somewhere else and it had front and rear lights lit, and turn signal to left constantly blinking :)
Children don't have ankles, that's just a myth. Ankles aren't grown until the puberty stage, after the child exits the pupa form. Anyway, broken ankles build character. Children are much easier to deal with when they're in bed. 😮

Ya that wiggle was fierce! But it did a good job of keeping it from spinning out on full throttle. I think I finally decided I prefer it all the way off or just way down also.

I just got this one for my son and I. Weve been loving it, however how is the range on yours? If we take it any more than 30 feet away then we lose connection and how to go get it. We have the H14BM and I can take it crazy far with no problems. Other than thats its been so much fun.
I would make sure you have good batteries in the controller, and I would open the receiver box and see if something is wrong with the antenna wire. It should definitely have plenty more range than 30 feet. Could be a defective remote or receiver too of course but hopefully not!
@@DerbyCityRC I did check all that. I put new batteries when I got it. Then while playing with it I swapped the batteries from another controller that was working fine. The antenna wire looks good also. I'm going to have Amazon exchange this one out.

I got one a couple of weeks ago, i decided to put some 12mm wheel extenders on it straight out of the box . Turned it into the f1 of drift cars have not been able to roll it even on 3s. I have the citroen as well but standard and it comfortably outperforms it. Seams to handles even better as well. Worth the $10 upgrade mate, turned it into my favourite RC 👍

2 tires for the 14mk are the width of common duck tape, which is handy because it means you can easily get left and right tires when you tape them up. slice down the middle and there's no excess (or just enough for the edge). i've been thru 12000mah 2s constant drifting on tarmac and zero wear, those tpr tires would have been toast in the same time

@@DerbyCityRC the other thing that made this car a lot more enjoyable for me was a dumborc gyro with gain on the transmitter. 1/3 gives a good feel for throttle steering, off when the understeer is annoying and you just wanna thrash around. and having the stand alone gyro is handy to try out in other RCs

It might fit, they're both pickup-style bodies. Though the 'infraction' body needs a quite bit of wheel arc trimming since it is much wider than the stock 14210, which is as wide as the chassis
It would take a lot of modification like a major body lift or a ton of body trimming. The body practically sits ontop of the tires of the 14210.

WOW I can't believe you hose the RC car with water LOL I have never done that before and too afraid to do that. I saw some people has put in 3S pack and after a few runs, the internal metal gear/tooth are stripping. That's terribly unfortunate to those folks.
I don’t hose them down often lol, but this one needed it, and needed it quickly.
I haven’t stripped any gears but I believe the newer models of HyperGo now have better gears. Like the 14210. I’ll be looking inside it to see and that video should be out on Friday.

•3S1p 11.1V •24.42wh battery and I noticed the connection to the battery to the connection to the ESC has melted after maybe 3 uses. I don’t run my packs out and and am very delicate when running my stuff btw. Not that experienced with 3s batteries more of a car audio guy. My guess is I’m not running a proper voltage battery or the lil housing just melted cause it’s not made for the heat the battery connection makes. Any info I’d appreciate

You got a part number for those stiffer springs by chance? It looks like the shocks are the same as my 16208 so I'm thinking those might be nice for the rear axle

I took the clear lexan off my MJX Citroen and found it a lot better in regards to collecting dirt and pebbles... those covers suck, it just traps all that crud in there so when you run it without it, it slides right on out of there. I call those covers garbage collectors. Thanks for the great video mate! Take care.

Being how many cars we have, we don’t get to drive every one all too much, however, we had the differential screws back out causing it to bind inside the diff housing. I’ve had to tighten them once or twice now. No true breaks yet though!

Love it!!! I am tempted to get one. I would mostly use indoor for drifting fun. I have ca. 600 sqft. Max room length is about 33 ft, max width 20 ft and average width 140 ft. Would it work or it's too beasty and fast for that area? Thanks everyone for your input. Very much appreciated
You could use it there, but I think you’d outgrow that space pretty quick. However with the plastic wheels it comes with, you could certainly have some fun there.
Though I don’t know 140ft is decent space lol hard to say for sure.

Very informative video. If you do get a taste for drifting I recommend the cheap UDIRC 1/16 brushed series of cars. They also have a gyro and drift tires. However I prefer the rubber road tires and the gyro turned off. Anyway thanks for all the info

Do you have any idea if there is a package for this where you can get the 14301-14303 bodies, together?
If you use the 14302 or 14303 bodies, does that change the scale of the automobile because the body makes the proportions different? It seems like it should since scale IS based on comparative proportions, right?
BTW, seriously think about trying to order this, but with the rally or drift body.
I don’t know I haven’t seen one with those bodies together.
I believe they’re all still 1/14 scale, but yes it’s technically sized off what the real car measures at. The really bodies are definitely awesome looking for sure!!

To simplify the process of actually measuring the cars, if a car is truly 1/10 scale, than any 1/10 average man should be able to fit in with the same ease a real man would be able to enter the real-life counterparts.

How’s it holding up? I got mine yesterday and went through both 2s packs as well as 2 3s battery’s. Rear hub broke and I had to glue it back together. Spur gear completely stripped out on me.
Mines fine so far. I’ve driven it maybe 4-5 other times. Stinks you had those issues.

I bought one of these for my son. Servo died. Ordered a new one, when i connect the steering, and turn it on it automatically steers hard to the right and then the spring opens up and gets stuck. Any ideas?
Did the old servo do the same thing or did it just die completely? What happens if you plug the old servo in now and turn it all on?
With the new servo, will it still steer hard to the right even if the controller is off but the car is on?
@@DerbyCityRC thanks for replying. No, the old servo drive s dead. Connected to the servo are 2 curve pieces that fit together held with a spring and screw. When it goes hard to the right they open up and get stuck open. The screw is as tight as it will go so not sure why that is happening.
Is the steering reversed on that one too or is it just mine
If you mean the gyro is reversed, all you have to do is (like the manual says) when the truck is on, hit the button (I forget if you hit button once or twice) on top of the gyro, and the light should change from green to red, or red to green. I forget. Read the manual for full info.
If your regular steering is reversed (not the gyro reversed) then that means you installed an aftermarket gyro, and I don't know how to fix that aside from getting a new transmitter and receiver. 😢

Water resistant yes. Not designed for submersion but they can get wet.

This thing does more rolls than a bakery if you try and turn under throttle on 3S I have a suspicion my uhhh enthusiast driving style is part of the problem

lol Doesn’t take much with these tires. Sometimes just two battery packs, it’s a known issue. Now that the car has been out for a while.

Hooked up to channel 3? I once got mine (14303) wire somewhere else and it had front and rear lights lit, and turn signal to left constantly blinking :)
