I got one recently and I feel the same way! If I knew it was so good i would have bought it a lot sooner even at full price! I am in talks about getting a custom new clip fitted to it and I am damn excited! This knife has been so good!
@@weldernick3750 That's fantastic! If you don't mind me asking what kind of after market clip are you going with as I would like to change mine out as well?
Ive seen this happen so many times with Spyderco. Retailers couldn't _give away_ the Slysz Bowie and K2 when they were new. I paid $150 for a K2, $140 for a Bowie, and now $155 for a Swayback, when they were discontinued. Regarding the clip, Sal Glesser has specifically said that the hourglass clip works perfectly, and he doesn't want to step on the toes of all the small shops who make aftermarket clips.
Yes, the Slysz Bowie & K2 are other good examples. I can appreciate that comment from Sal. At least there's some reasoning there. God knows I've spent my fair share on after market clips. Thanks for watching!
Got one recently new for £140 New! Took the clip off and run it in a sheath. Probably one of the sharpest knives from factory that I’ve had. I’m a Lefty and can only spydie flick it, but absolutely love it.
The knife is an excellent pocket carry. It carries so well. The hollow grind makes it an amazing slicer. The action is very smooth and well done. Since the lock bar is so low, it's so nice to close. Also at the moment, it is going for $150-$200.
I so love this knive, and each and every detail, and even to the point, that no other knife inspires me so glad to listen to your comment, thanks a lot😃👌
I was able to pick one up for $150 and plan on getting either a Lynch or MXG clip. Highly underrated knife. I imagine the Stovepipe will be headed that way soon enough, which I found to be another great knife that reviewers aren't too keen on.
Now that's a great deal! The Stovepipe is one I would like to pick up as well. The price seems to usually be the point of contention with these higher end collaboration offerings.
After some time I finally decided to take it. Initially, as many said, his detent was too strong. This is definitely a problem for those who cannot maintain their knife. I just took it apart, lubricated it, and bent the frame lock. And the knife spydy flicks perfectly now, since I’m left-handed.))
There are a few things that would keep me personally from buying this but I don't see how it can be considered too expensive. It's a good size knife, titanium handle, and it's a spyderco, not to mention it was only brought back in a small number production. I haven't been around the knife community long so I didn't know anything about this knife but when I started seeing videos and seeing everyone complain about price I assumed it must've been around $500. I finally looked it up and seen it available for $200, if I liked the style more I'd be happy to pay $200 for it. People commonly pay around $200 for titanium scales alone and yet a pretty unique knife with titanium scales at $200 is too expensive, it just doesn't make sense to me.
It surely confused me when I first heard it as well. Considering the response from my video I believe many are finally seeing the merits of this folder. I believe many overlooked the simplicity of the design and didn't see the justification in the price, but discounted the fact it has some of the best F&F in a folding knife.
People who buy knives and don’t use them RUINED THE KNIFE MARKET Spyderco knows this. They tax these collectors heavily… To me, this knife was raved about. Same with all his designs. Spyderco could keep evergreen models that they know people are crazy about. But they don’t… they release 600. Like the m390 PITS. They knew the UK wanted a nice spyderco so they sold them for $280 USD. Absolutely insane. I bought one tho…😂 I’m happy they’re rereleasing things like the classic catcher man. And yeah dude they should use a titanium clip for that. Not doing so is just lazy. Spyderco is my favorite knife company, but damn guys you could do better.
Oh yeah and finally, how many times has your voice been compared to… you know who! Weird thing to say but of all voices for one to have, you’ve got a very good one.
Indeed. Think of all the safe queens just sitting there never to be used. Spyderco is certainly up there on my list as well as they are not afraid to push the envelope and try new ideas and help new designers.
Correct. I will be buried with mine. There is nothing like it. What you do is throw away the clip and put it in your pocket and be happy that you own the best pocket knife ever made. Straight, hollow ground blade gets shaving sharp with 60 seconds on the strop, no matter what you did with it all week. The Blade shape adds safety and utility and you will be disappointed by every other knife you own once you get this. Reviewers need to get their clicks and they get clicks by pretending that it has problems, like lock up problems or Spidey hole problems. Run it for seven days, someplace other than a table top where you are barely touching it with gloves on because you know you need to resell it in mint condition to keep your business running. Then be happy forever.
Indeed. It is the quintessential gentleman’s knife and this gentleman will be holding on to his. You might be right with this knife to just remove the pocket clip entirely, I may give that a go!
I have one and i think its a fantastic gentleman's knife. Thanks for this video.
Thanks for watching!
My recommendation would be to grab one while you still can.

Ive been dying to get one, and i just saw it was discontinued. This was a great review.
I just did an unboxing video for this one and am carrying it this week for a review video. Good info! I subbed!
Nice! Thanks for the sub!
Thank you!
I have one, and as soon as I removed the clip the knife felt just right for me.
Recommend everyone trying that!
So good in hand and a great blade.
As of today these are still available on their website and factory fresh!
Excellent review. I totally agree with all you said, and thus just ordered one. A gentleman’s knife indeed Sir Connary.
Why Thank you sir. That's quite the compliment indeed!

I've heard the expression one is none and two is one. May have to come up with a new saying for three.

@@gentlemanscarry for sure, I got that stovepipe off Amazon during Black Friday for $325. I doubt I’d pay +$400, but I’m glad I bit at $325.
I like your review I just picked one up for $172 I can’t wait to get it
Well done! Amazing deal!

Well done. For those who purchase a folding knife and don't know or can't take a kit of parts apart they shouldn't own it in the fist place.
10% or so had a lighter detent but the rest had heavy detent that was terrible fir deployment.
I'm in the process of trying to free up funds to get one!!

My first 'gentleman's knife' was a CRKT CEO. I disliked it so much, I never tried another 'gentleman's knife'. Maybe I'll give this one a try.

Cool knife for a stupid price, and the clip doesn’t fit the knife…it’s not that fancy, the design is simple, but more crude than elegant

Way too expensive$200
Some have been able to pick one up for $150. now.
