I purchased this wig using the black friday special and I ABSOLUTELY love this hair. It is so soft. I am not use to this texture which requires a little more work but it is soooo worth it! Wearing it now😊😊😊 My wig looks exactly like the one in this video.

@@MeekahLynne have you ever cut the side adjustable straps from your wig. They irritate me and are not good for updo's. I dont think it should be a problem since the lace will still be in tact.
She is very cute I like that little highlights in certain spots will probably bring it out for me I’m not such a black wig wearer but that wig is gorgeous

I just ordered this unit last night taking advantage of their black Friday sale and can't wait to rock this unit. Of all curl patterns Afro curly is my favorite and they last longer for me once I find the best products to use on them as I find the results vary depending on the hair quality, what products do you use for yours?

I got my order in about 5 days I think they already had it in stock because their first email said it would take 2-3 weeks to make and I was going to cancel my order and order from another vendor and they said they would rush ship it for $25 and I refused since I was already paying $15 to ship when allot of vendors ship for free and they responded that it would be shipped out the next week. So roughly a week
I will say that I like the wig, but you have to keep it moisturized or it becomes a dry afro. I carried a spray bottle with water, conditioner & coconut oil mixed to spray during the day.

I put it up. I was constantly having to spray it down and redefine the curls during the day and it shed tremendously each time and I didn't want to ruining it all together. I'm considering cutting it into a short curly pixie cut since it's a full lace unit and see if it's more manageable.

I'm realizing that I can work better with deep curly and kinky curly textures better than afro kinky styles which sucks because I LOVE that texture. I do have an afro kinky unit from Amazon that I manipulated well as it's more of a silky texture with the same tight curls and even ordered it twice to color the 2nd unit, now it's gone up in price and the lace is only 13x4 and I prefer 13x6 or full lace, but I'll probably order another one.

I purchased this same wig a few months back. It completely fell apart. It shed horribly when I washed it and when i added styling products. The company agreed the shedding was excessive, after viewing the pics I sent, then suggested how I should care for it. I never worn it at all and wanted my money back. I did not need them to tell me how to care for a product i brought with my money. The company gave me a little less than half of what i paid for this wig once i sent it back to them. I felt I was cheated. I never wore it once because the shedding was so dang bad. Consumer beware!!
I'm sorry you had that experience but you make it sound as if I'm lying and I'm not. I give 100% honest reviews on every wig.
Absolutely RIGHT!. i bought used twice and $300 went into TRASH!. Much as i tried to take care of it. I took few pics with hair at its BEST but thereafter it tangled and matted up.

What products do you use on your Melissa wig because I just ordered her yesterday after the same bad experience a unit similar to this from Her Given Hair and someone told me to try this unit instead so I spent my saved coins on her hoping to get what I paid for. I usually mix Tresame 5 in 1 conditioner with water and coconut oil in a spray bottle to moisturize during the day, and Eco styling gel to define the curls after a co wash....
@@eliciabanks7005 I use all of these products on my natural hair and other kinky curly units and it seems to work. I don't use ALL of them ALL the time. It depends on what I'm going for, the conditions, etc. I found a lot of good products through NaturalJoy's tutorials and Ill list them also
Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ANY CURLY/KINKY HAIR UNIT
AfricanPride leave in conditioner, Garnier fructis sleek & shine anti-frizz , or any Moisturizing spray every 3-5 days only when she needs a touch up or detangling and Im out of detangler.
(How to make her curls pop) EDEN curl defining creme. It makes the curls clump up very nicely once you brush the creme through. Worth every penny.
(How to make her curls pop) AfricanPride defining creme if I want her to have less shrinkage and have her curls popping
(How to make her curls pop) Any detangling creme (sometimes Im cheap) + denman brush/rat tail comb along with mousse.
Creme of nature styling mousse or cantu curling mousse if you live in a place humid or rainy and Melissa does what any freshly styled hair does and reverts back.
AfricanBest oil bottle, Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum, or Coconut oil if melissa is dry. Just brush her and spray and let it hydrate the hair. If she is soaked don't brush her
(How to make her curls pop) Mane Styling Gel to give her looser but popping curls (She will give that Lora (3b-3c) wig look when you're using the product but Melissa will revert back when you wash it out or remove it another way)
(How to sleek her down) Eco Styling Gel if you want ponytails or a sleek look. Also she works great with accessory ponytails I've discovered XD
Twist outs with AfricanPride edge controller on the twists and then I loosen after 3 days
I used to use shea moisture but their ingredients have changed. Im unsure if it'll work still but you can try them.
I love Melissa's natural fluffy/thick look she has when she gets dry but if you don't want that I recommend trying any of the products I listed along with mousse and that won't happen. Like I said before I dont use every single product all the time, I often change products because I can't afford everything so I brought up alternatives for you also that work good. Only for what I'm going for and the circumstances, and the average cost for MOST that I listed is 3-5.
A lot of people I know don't like Melissa because they want a simple low maintenance wig. You need to know how to care for a good kinky curly wig. Most people are used to those affordable ones that are silky, have straight roots, and have looser curls but claim to be "kinky curly". Then they get mad and throw her in her box and let her matt up. Don't do that! But if you find yourself thinking she is too much for you there is always Lora and I have alternative cheaper (but straight root) options if you want to know some. Then again there is also the Lora wig from CurlsCurls and everyone also loves her too (she is moderate maintenance). Also these are products I use, I recommend keeping yours and see how they work but you can possibly try these and experiment especially if you want a certain style I mentioned. I know aussie moist, mousse, and eco is popularly used on the Melissa wig so if you try any of the products I've listed I recommend those.
Tips:
1. If you get sweat at your neck Melissa can tangle at the nap, simple detangling spray is fine.
2. DON'T HARSHLY BRUSH ANY KINKY CURLY UNIT OR DO TOO MUCH WHEN ITS PURELY WET, let it get damp-dry and then touch it. I've had 8 kinky curly/curly/afro curly units in total and Its a big mistake, regardless of the company you'll get more than average shedding.
3. Also note almost all curly/kinky units shed when wet/washing/styling so don't constantly run your fingers through it testing it unless you're detangling it. Don't touch it all day every single minute because then you'll cry seeing strands. Only finger brush until its damp or dry and then style or fix it. And YES Melissa sheds, all curly units sheds. For me she only sheds when wet or when she is wet and Im manipulating her but other than that nothing comes out of my head. If you want a brand I know that barely sheds in any of their units try Iseehair but they have large straight roots but very affordable.

Omg. This is my second wig from curls curls but this melissa wig is an absolute MESS the curls are beautiful but the SHEDDING and tangles are just horrific!!! My Zoey wig was much better from them. I cant do anything to soften it. Its horrible. I just got it. Its horrible. I still have it but I cut it 2 short
