Most emotional concert experience I ever had was at a sevendust show. Lajon(singer) brought out Vinnie Paul 2 weeks after Dime was shot and sang "Angels Son" acapella with the crowd at Summerfest in Milwaukee,WI
Saw them right after the boston bombing in Massachusetts. He cried, we all cried..

Lajon saves the band from sounding like most metal bands of their time. He's like a heavier version of Living Colour's Corey Glover.

It's not that simple but yeah I get it...Lajon, Clint, Morgan, John, and Vince are the DNA needed to make Sevendust what it is! Obviously the major pieces are Lajon, Clint, and Morgan....they were unique and came out of the gate hard AF...this 2nd album cemented their capabilities and Lajon settled into what he would become as the front man and singer. It's been 27yrs and I still fucking love this band! \m/
Don't get me wrong, LJ is one of my all time favorites, but Sevendust wouldn't sound like anyone else regardless. Morgan Rose had a flair about him even back then that I still don't really see in other drummers, AND he sings/screams like no one I've ever heard. Clint, Vince and John are so against the grain melodically, they've always just kind of been in their own lane as players.
They're on Rise Records these days which I thought would water them down, but nope. They're still pure, unadulterated Sevendust ...but with shinier production.
One of the best live bands you’ll ever see, tons of energy and they sound great. Been a fan since ‘95 and still am. They have a ton of great songs, def do more Sevendust 🤘🤘🔥
Do you remember the demos they put out under the old name, Crawlspace? Amazing that two of the best live acts one could ever see working together, pre fame. Butch Walker recorded/produced their demos for them, that got them signed then he was to produce the debut, yet had his own fame with his old band The Marvelous 3, they had a big tour to do, to promote their big hit, Freak of the Week. Butch did produce the Seasons record. You can see him working with them in the video for the Enemy (Studio Version video)

hands down one of my favorite bands to see live. The last time I saw them, they finished the set but the entire crowd started chanting for Angel's Son, they come back out and played it for an encore and they turned it up as loud as they could. Then was chillin and getting drunk with everyone after the show. It was a great night.

More Sevendust! One of the most consistent metal/rock bands of all time. They've been making quality music for over 20 years. Album after album after album is full of amazing songs.
Morgan Rose is such an underrated and amazing drummer! Sevendust are one of the dopest Metal/Rock bands from the 90s.

I had listened to Sevendust for years before I saw a picture and noticed the "difference", I always thought they had a unique sound.

@Ryan They are so underrated man! I'm a bit older but back in the day, Black got radio play and Prayer came in for a bit but after that, from what I heard, the radio just dropped them altogether. Not sure why!

Agreed, definitely need to react to Angels Son, but the Strait Up album version, hits home a lot harder than the album Sevendust released it on. Both are great, but the original version is AMAZING.

The most underrated and hardest working band in the last 23 years. I've seen these guys over 12 times. Bad ass live bands and just great guys. I've been lucky enough to meet all the guys in the band. BITCH is a bad ass tune.

The power of metal/rock/alternative untapped by the mainstream for a good decade and half. Lajon Witherspoon & Sevendust are a treasure.
The way LJ sings “What’s sacred faded into nothing” at 3:38 gives me chills everytime, wish they made a song with a chorus like that.

Love sevendust listening to this song brings me back to my teenage years. They came out with a new album not too long ago I think. Song Dirty I think was a good one.

Sevendust is one of the hardest working bands in the biz. They are always on tour. I've seen them probably half a dozen times and they always bring their A-game.

So I saw Sevendust play at Warped Tour in ATL 99 (they are from GA) on that same day, Eminem performed, early Black Eyed Peas (pre fergie), Ice T and others. Chuck D, Outkast, Goodie MOB were all spotted around and backstage to watch a young Eminem perform. 100% true story.

But then it does seem to be more of a popularity contest and Killswitch doesn't get a whole lot of radio play or the attention they deserve IMHO.
It has to be the studio version though. Killswitch is notorious for using a radio edited version of their songs to release to the mainstream. The vocals are way more powerful in the studio versions.

I’ve seen this band more than any band I’ve seen. They seemed to come to Kentucky 2/4 times a year when I was a teenager lol. Seemed like it anyway. I can absolutely say they never disappoint on or off stage. Lajon is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and what an incredible voice.
2023* still at the top! 31 years old and I still have them going in my shuffle playlist at work every single day. Going to see them later this year. #7D 2023 TOUR!
When Sevendust played with Creed and Nickleback at the Idaho Center in 2001, someone threw a suntan lotion bottle onstage and hit Lajon with it. He promptly threw it into the crowd and nailed my orange Billabong shirt. I was honored.

Morgan Rose is one of my favorite drummers. Many years ago in ATL were Sevendust is based I met the singer LeJon while they were working up there Animosity album. I instantly loved this band and I've purchased every album they've recorded. Great band.

Love Sevendust, first concert i went to. It was at the Tabernacle in ATL. Venue is an old church with amazing acoustics! Had a broken ankle but still went into the crazy moshpit! Great memories!

I been a fan of sevendust since I was in high school!! lol that was a long time ago haha great band.
Saw them live about 10 years ago with Taproot and Nonpoint. Got into the show for free because we were supposed to interview the band but their manager changed his mind at the last second . Still got to hang out backstage and watch the concert for free though .
Incredibly underrated band - LJ is a phenomenal vocalist, Morgan is such a great drummer. Such incredible people and musicians.

I've met Lajon,and he is such a humble person IRL. He always points me out in concerts.Why you might ask? Whilst others are headbanging...I'm dancing to that soulful sound only Lajon Witherspoon, and Doug Pinnick (Kings X) brought to the table.
He is playing that bass like a stand up bass.
Vince hornsby is on another level when it comes to bass brotha.
