I recommend the Romantic killer anime! I personally liked it because of the fun it pokes at romance tropes and I think the comedy is a bit easier to enjoy as an anime, tho it def is cheesy 😅. This show feels like it wants you to think it's a certain type of story at the beginning until you watch more of it (which is usually annoying, but I was happy to stick it out this time) Some things that surprised me was that later episodes had a bit of a darker theme, which I wasn't expecting for a romcom. Also I didn't think I would end up being invested in the characters but they def grew on me. I ended up really liking Anzu as a lead and her relationships with the other characters were all really endearing. I would say definitely watch a few episodes at least!

Great reads! I recently reread skip and loafer and I love it so much! Their friend group is the best part of the series and mitsumis relationship with nao chan is so sweet. I am super excited for the anime as well as the anime for My lv999 love for Yamada-kun!
when everyone was talking about Skip and Loafer, i was wondering what the hype was about since the premise isn't revolutionary. but the characters and their personalities reeeeally make this series 🥰 makes me so happy that the characters are written the way that they are and the way their friendships develop is nice to read. Mitsumi is such a great FL! that's 2 animes for us to look forward to in April! 🥳😍

March is the month for finishing up the rest of Barakamon 😳 i think with true slice of life series, i tend to take an extended time to read em. kinda like, it's a casual vibe series so i read them casually too 😅 but i'll def keep you posted on some fav panels! i come across so many silly and heartwarming ones 😭 i did! it was a whirlwind of a read, which surprised me. somehow, the transitions between the silly and dark moments really worked. in other cases it may have come across as very jarring, but with TBHK, the character personalities are perfect for that. but i'm glad i ended up loving the TBHK manga as much as i do bc it would have been painful to get so many to then unhaul after :')

Hope you enjoy Barakamon! With the exception of one thing, the story is near perfect IMO. Literally had the same sentiments about Handa-Kun. It read like a cash grab, which disappointed me.
i know you're a huuuge Barakamon fan so i'm happy to say i'm loving it so far! 🥰 i've slowly been getting attached to everyone in the manga so i'm curious on how the second half goes 😌 but overall, it's made me laugh and made me tear up. Handa-kun felt like such a chore to read through tbh. the same gimmick over and over and i was surprised of how different the vibe was to Barakamon

That’s so cool, I wish I could do that, then I would be able to read mashiro no oto😢😢😢 For sign of affection, I feel Oshi made too many mistakes, didn’t realize his feelings and was very condescending towards his friend all these years. On the other hand, Itsuomi makes me anxious. I am very protective of certain characters like Yuki, and Itsuomi is too experienced, mysterious, past baggage carrier, globe trotting for me, to feel like he will be there in the long haul for Yuki.
ohh i'm not able to read Japanese 😅 i get the Japanese vols to support the series i read online if they don't have a physical translated release. i've only taken a course but that wouldn't be nearly enough to comprehend reading manga 😭 but the best things for a manga collector is to actually learn Japanese 😂since Japanese manga is so cheap and usually always available. Hayaku Shitai Futari was such a disappointment that i hope the mangaka's next series is better story-wise. i agree about Oshi. his opportunity has passed and unfortunately for him, Yuki has moved on. and at that point, his meddling makes things difficult for her as someone who's already in a relationship. i also see what you mean about Itsuomi since he's not one to stay put for very long. any kind of distance would put a strain on anyone's relationship 😔 i do wonder when we'll learn even more of his back story

Two decades or so of being an otaku and I still haven’t taken any learning for Japanese, I am afraid to start, not good with language. Japanese volumes of Given looks so so good, are they different in the sides compared to English release by Sublime? You mentioned short stories for each volume, are they included in English volumes as well? I am planning to buy the manga, I very recently got into “Given” and I am deeply obsessed right now, specially with mafuyu. Oshi is making it harder for maintain the friendship, let alone his chance for something happening romance wise. As for Itsuomi, my anxious nature keep thinking that is he into Yuki for novelty and uniqueness? What if it changes when he moves to different environment? 🥹

I love music anime and Given was not a BL anime to me, it felt so natural, like I used to feel about Nana and nodame cantabile. If the me who got scarred by Junjou romantica nearly a decade ago knew there are stories like Given, that me won’t have had such a negative opinion about BL. Given, blue morning, doukyusei, is my top romance manga list. ***about short stories, I think you mentioned some leaflets that only came with movie ticket, dvd. I also saw them with free scanlations, short stories are so good so I was wondering it english versions have them too? I just bought given stickers and planning to buy volumes soon. Japanese spines look more pretty though.

About Nijiiro days, I think the character that surprised you was Kei right? 😂 frankly I am not fond of that character and not sure what the author was going with his fetish (?) or whatever that is. And how everyone was so casual with high schooler doing that, including his brother. How far did he take that fetish, because I think most people don’t have a clear idea of what bondage entails, its not just playing and quite serious subject matter. However, the character interaction is rainbow days is pretty good, 2 of couples made me stick through, specially tsyopon and yukirin🥰
is Kei the sadist? 😅 if so, then yes i was referring to him lol. it seemed so random and i wasn't sure if this was the mangaka applying a trait to a character just for the sake of applying something different/unique. not to say people can't be into that, but it was just a bit shocking to me for a shojo manga. but yahh i will keep the anime on my radar instead as i feel like i may like it more that way esp with the type of humor 👀

I usually keep my dislike of favorite characters in check, because I don’t stop criticizing once I start and don’t want to end up hurting people. Similar Sadistic trait in Hori( horimiya) felt unnatural to me as well, dominant character doesn’t mean sadistic which the author just kept adding in random places, imo.
