I'm wondering if this new product is a lacquer. I used lacquer on my small silver cheese tray and tho I've never actually washed the tray I do dust it now and again and it looks just fine.
2023 is declining as is my credulance of this information.
I actually rather enjoy cleaning my silver, and am a little dubious about chemical coatings, so I will go on the old fashioned way.
Presumeably Mr. Towning remains of better service to humanity through his butling.

Astonished. I was always told never to use dips like that, except for brand new silver, as it will strip away the patina along with the tarnish.

It is very hard to take care of those sliver, because silver oxidation is a very annoying thing.

As a housekeeper, I hated polishing silver!

I used Silvo to clean my silver tea set and my cloths were black after I finished and I had tears I was so upset with all the work and dirt and black on my hands so when my sisterinlaw came to visit me for a holiday I her my tea set as a going home gift. I am happier with plate silver to dust now and again thank you very much anyway..I'm good 😅🤣💞
silver inevitably gets nicked and scratched, this allows corrosive agents into and under coatings. Then you are stuck having to remove coatings in order to fix it.
Well I saw pieces from 300 years old looking stunning, so I still prefer silver than plastic 🤣
Am I the only one who, taking in sum total all the things that were said, am inclined to think this is a well-produced and well-rehearsed joke?
