Actually at Rio 2016 this group was the one who deserved Gold, but the favoritism prevented them from get what they delivered, nonetheless they accepted happily and with huge sportsmanship the silver, a golden silver 🥈👏🏼
The mixed exercise of the Russians had a higher level of difficulty and by not making any mistakes, they were ahead of the Spanish team.
@@frankkoehlerseg The difficulty start was a 10 as well, there's was no that thing about open difficulty in 2016, the score for the mixed exercise of Russia was fair but their 5 ribbons exercise wasn't properly deducted of the mistakes they made, stop justifying russian unfair scores under the excuse of higher difficulty in a Code Of Points where the start value was a 10 and all the top 8 teams had that 10 point start valie score 😉
@@patem7379 The starting point was a 10, but the execution of the exercise did not reach that 10. The Russians did not reach a 10 either, but their execution was higher than that of the Spaniards.
@@frankkoehlerseg the execution was higher because it wasn't well deducted, they even had to have a penalty of 0.2 for each unzipped leotard and they didn't have, it was clearly there was a biased judgement there
@@frankkoehlerseg That's what they're saying. The russian team should not have had such high execution and the Spanish team should have been above them if the judging would have been fair. That's why everybody was so shocked by the results of Tokyo, because the Russian athletes were finally called out on their mistakes and judges fairly but ironically everybody believes it was unfair.
The Spanish's Rio 2016 ribbon routine is one of my all time favorite!
It had everything ☺
And the colors of the ribbons and leotards are bright.
@@bibianaguadalupeislasherre9880 That exercise was designed to appeal totally the brazilian crowd, the history of the exercise had more sense than that of Russia that was very intrincated but lacked fluidity and musical adaptation in a lot of parts

In 1996 at Atlanta, Team Spain 🇪🇸 Rhythmic Gymnastics Group All-Around Final Olympic Champions and won gold medal 🏅 🥇 and 20 years later in Rio 2016 Summer Olympics they also won silver medal 🥈 in Group All-Around Final.
Participation of Spain during the rhythmic gymnastics group competition in Olympic games:
Atlanta 1996 - Gold medal 🥇
Athens 2004 - 7th place.
London 2012 - 4th place.
Rio 2016 - Silver medal 🥈
Times where Spain didn't compete in an Olympic final:
Sydney 2000 - Tenth place because in the qualifying competition, they made 2 mistakes in their routines.
Beijing 2008 - Eleventh place also in the qualifying phase because they made a mistake during the 3 hoops and 4 clubs routine.
Tokyo 2020 - Eight place in the 2021 European rhythmic gymnastics championship in Varna, Bulgaria.

And why isn't the presentation of the Spanish team in Sydney 2000?
They didn't made the final cut and they performed bad in both exercises, specially in the mixed one
@@patem7379 The Spanish team was also not in the final of the Beijing 2008 event, however, they include content from their participation in preliminaries.
@@frankkoehlerseg I know, but at least thay 5 ropes exercise wasn't as bad as those performed in Sydney, they had a beautiful mixed exercise in 2008 but they failed it big :/
@@patem7379 And they also didn't compete in Tokyo 2020, because the team finished in eighth place at the 2021 European rhythmic gymnastics championship in Varna, Bulgaria. This was the first time, Spain didn't have any gymnasts in rhythmic gymnastics at the Olympic games with individual gymnasts and the team.
@@bibianaguadalupeislasherre9880 I know, it was sad but honestly the Spain groups of this Olympic cycle weren't good enough to compete for a spot, it was pity but hopefully this can improve for Paris 2024
