    Nice tutorial on dock shooting, thank you.
    Paul, you ever think about doing a video of your boat?
    Looks like that deck would be great for catching just about anything that swims.

      Thanks Maverick! I did try my best to make a good tutorial and hopefully help anyone who was wanting to learn. I have been told by a few people I should do a video of the boat but I haven’t put much thought into it. But enough people have asked about it I think I should go ahead and make one soon. Thanks for dropping y and checking out the video. And thanks for the kind words. I hope you get out there and wear em out on the docks. Tight lines bud 🎣😎

      Hey Slab! Thanks for dropping by bud, Man dock shooting is just way to much fun. I think I remember you and me chatting about it on someone's live stream. When your reeling in that jig nice and slow and you feel that THUMP. There's nothing like it. Hope all is well bud 🎣😎

    Awesome video. Thanks for the lesson. My problem is timing between releasing the jig head and the line from my other finger at the reel. I use to be pretty coordinated but when it comes to this I'm a goofball.

    • @Paulcatchesemall
      @Paulcatchesemall  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Melvin, Yes that part can definitely be tricky at first. Once you let go of that jig wait just a split second then release that line and you'll have it perfect! When I first started I practiced outside for a bit until I got it right. Thanks for dropping by. Tight lines bud 🎣😎

    Awesome presentation on how to dock shoot. It’s been years since I have. Mine didn’t look as good as your does but it gets the job done. I was wondering when you were gonna come out with a how to dock shoot video. You always wear them out on the docks so you would be guy the to show how it’s done. Hope all is well and keeping coming out with these videos.

      Thank you! I’ve had some people ask me to make a video about dockshooting and I tried my best at explaining it. Yea one of the main lakes I fish has thousands of docks so dockshooting is nothing new to me out here. But I know to sole people it’s something completely new so hopefully they get something out of it and get on some good fish. I appreciate your support, thanks for dropping by.

    Broke my phone a month ago and just getting around to redoing all my UA-cam account, great video! I'll have to try this as hammy is hard to figure out on the crappie, they are very spooky. I just went out this weekend on degray and caught a mess of crappie, but the lake is low and everyone with livescope is finding all my good piles, oh well that's fishing! Hammy has some big crappie if you can get them to bite!

      Sorry to hear about your phone 😕. Dockshooting is the main way I fish one this lake. Theres just too many docks not to 😄. That's awesome you got out at Degray and got into em . That Lake is Beautiful, I haven't been there since last spring. I need to make a trip out there soon. Hope all is well and stay on the fish! I appreciate you dropping by 🎣😎

    Yes! You finally made the dockshoot video! I'm glad you went over how to practice before getting out on the water. I'm gonna have to watch this again before I practice. Ive been wanting that rod and reel you got too. Thanks for sharing it! Any jig your prefer to fish with?

    • @Paulcatchesemall
      @Paulcatchesemall  2 роки тому

      I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yea I was hoping for anyone who dosent have experience dockshooting woulda practice at home for a bit before getting out on the water. For your question about what jig I prefer really depends on time of year and what the water clarity is, and sometimes if it’s a overcast or clear day. But rule of thumb is you can never go wrong with natural color baits (my opinion)

    Can u use braid with this?

    • @Paulcatchesemall
      @Paulcatchesemall  4 місяці тому

      I don’t, reason why is with your line being so close to the docks/piers it rubs and with braid that will weakin the line real fast.

    For as long as I've been fishing docks for crappies, I never shoot under the docks. I need to change that lol

    • @Paulcatchesemall
      @Paulcatchesemall  2 роки тому +1

      What!? Man you need to get under that dock Kit! They’re usually stacked under there man. I know all lakes are different but I usually find a good mess of them on a dock that’s closest to a pointe. Give it a try next time your out. Thanks for dropping by bud 😎🎣
