I love that this a real life review from someone that actually drives/uses the Dakar for whats its intended for and not just keep it as a garage queen. 💪🏼
First of all, major props to you for using the car as intended and not just squirreling it away like an investment piece. Second, nice job on the review. Polished, informative, but candid and not overly scripted. You bring up an excellent point about the lack of a spare severely limiting how far off into the wilderness you could actually take this. A shame given how much effort they put into making other attributes of the car more capable and not just cosmetically rugged. As for making people spend extra money for every single option and accessory...that is the Porsche way my friend. Enjoy and keep up the great content!
Saved to my Porsche playlist. As a boxer engine awd owner (Crosstrek😂) your points made were so relatable minus the performance… Dakar has become the dream
You are so right. I am from Miami and I tell people that Miami is the worst place for a GT3 or almost any Porsche. The Dakar would be great on the days when it rains a lot. Love Key Biscayne , Old Cutler and Card Sound Road. Unfortunately you cannot drive too quickly on them safely. Sent my Porsche to California and it’s much happier there.
Loved your review. Just took delivery of my Dakar and I am also planning on taking it out to back country trips here in California. I subscribed to your channel and I can’t wait to see some of your off-road footage.
Good video and sweet car. Completely agree with you on the oversight of the spare tire situation. Makes me think Porsche doesn’t really care about the true off road usability of the car
Hi I just like to say I love your videos great content. And I have a porsche 911 992 2024 and have the red rear light and you said you wish you had red and I would like the clear one you have. Would you like to swap?
i find the tow hook funny considering there is no possible way of throwing the 992 in neutral without turning the car on or if it was manual (or by inserting the pin from underneath the car). so if you truly need a tow truck you are screwed without the proper towing setup
Yes, I share your POV when you say Porsche should have made it more stripped out. All this luxury is pointless in a car which may end up by having as much sand in it as on it 😅
You are right that few are likely to actually use the Dakar for its intended purpose. So for those few the spare tire is a moot point. However capable it is - it is simply a Trophy for most That's why I bought a GR Corolla for my touring/ backroad/rally'esk style driving. Not need for a roof rack - cuz they Suck @$$ & look like you are trying to hard to look the Part. & @ 3550 lbs the Dakar is a bit of a Porker 🐷🐽🐖... and to add a spare would be RIDICULOUS (where the f would you put it?) Oh ya on the stupid a/f Roof Rack- that's where. My alternative to the GR would be a lifted 996 Turbo Cab Manual. (now that would be fun!!!)

Congrats for this special 911. I got my Sterrato similar vibes a month ago too. Have fun

Can you make some 4K quality POV of the Dakar? The car is so beautiful!
So cool you got the photo for the official Porsche site

Ooh. What’s a car Mark. Epic video. 🤟
Well at least I have the same watch!!!
7:35 Probably because you don't want to pull your rear bumper if a flap gets caught in something
Anymore vids coming? 😊
This is so cool! MORE CONTENT BRUH

I would put a level system instead the clock, more offroad 👌, but yes the car is gorgeous 🤩
Shot every time he says Dakar 😂

I wanted to see some off-roading 😂 you only filmed it on-road.
Da Car? De car? 😁😁
Very well developed video and insightful. To be a little nit picky his voice and speech manner could be less Beverly Hills accent.😉 🤠😎

Mate, learn to say Dakar properly…. But what a fantastic car, great to see one being used. Porsche build such fantastic cars.
