@@MrMiniTakitos Yeah. The skirmish phase is way more protracted too. In Warhammer it's mostly limited to the amount of volleys your ranged units can shoot before the forces mash into each other
@@MrMiniTakitos yeah as much as I *adore* the Warhammer setting, I just can’t get past really expensive and important units just getting trashed by a cheap ass sorcerer overcasting magic over and over.
Odrysians are so fun to watch, Thracian nobles are one of the coolest units in the game for sure. Great game And color me shocked that the sender of the replay won!
I was really impressed with the Odrysian player, not that I would call it a counter but the Iberian, Lusitani especially, infantry is exactly what Thracian Nobles don't want to fight. Now pretty sure one on one Thracian Nobles beat any infantry in the game even without a stellar charge, but the both the Veteran Shield Warriors and the Lusitani Nobles have such high melee attack and defense with javelins and a lower price point it is exactly what the Thracians don't want. In the Nobles vs Nobles fight if the Thracians don't even up the losses taken from precursors before their charge bonus wears off the Lusitani can win with a decent number of men remaining. I also know that the crazy high attack of the Thracians is super necessary to the fight. I know the Thracians lose if exhausted even if both units are full strength as they just stop hitting the Lusitani. Not sure what level of fatigue makes their melee attack low enough for the difference to start to show though.
as the odrysian kingdom you can only rely on your cav and getting a good charge since they dont have many units and most of them easily die to projectiles
When you think about it 2 minutes it's not a very believable battle : It's just the suicide of two armies. What would be the point of winning in such conditions with so few troops left at the end César would cry if he could saw "victory" like theses
Was this on high funds? Cause that is the problem with Lusitani, they get outclassed by other factions with better cavalry options when you have higher funds
You have six hundred thousand channels to watch Warhammer replays in. Plus the Rome 2 battles somehow do better in views than the Warhammer ones here, so I don't expect him to do many of those anymore
There's just something about Rome 2 battles that make it far more fun to watch compared to Warhammer replays.
I think it comes down to the ebb and flow of older total war games more stratigic gameplay with positioning and timing

@@Laucron I think warhammer comes down to abilities and hero units more than small unit tactics too.

Rome 2 really has aged so well.

Love to see all the underdog factions showing up here!

Thanks for the cast and I hope to have more games with Jar in the future. Rome 2 multiplayer is a lot of fun!

Thracians will always be my favorite faction in the total war franchise
Our Horses Love Blood!
