Late 1960s to early 1970s in Yarmouth, a schoolkid with pocket money could get into one of the Pier summer seaside shows to see people like Mike Yarwood, Mike and Bernie Winters, Freddie Starr and Ken Dodd. They put on good shows and it was their bread and butter. Those days are gone ; all tribute acts now and Yarmouth's just a shadow of its former self. You could get a beach hut for peanuts, not a mortgage like now. Jimmy Clitheroe on the radio. My old man took me to see Frankie Howerd on either the Britannia or Wellington Pier, and afterwards round to the stage door. When Frankie saw the great unwashed standing there, he scampered off looking absolutely horrified 😃 It's a shame how our seaside resorts have lost their shine.
Great video
Haven't seen Great Yarmouth for years but there were so many memories here, even the sounds of the arcade machines on the pier lol
Great Yarmouth, and especially the waterways, looking great in the sunshine. Love hese tours showing an another insight into familiar, and new, places
