“Messiness adds life.” Love that. Just love the color. Watching these videos are helping me shift my mindset to let go of trying to get things perfect. I need to loosen up! Thanks!
I love this one! You’re so talented
Loved finding this video in my updates today! Michael, we bought one of your paintings of this exact corner store a few years ago in an art gallery in Berkeley. We love it! We now live in Paris, and the painting helps bring a bit of California back into our lives every time we look at it. Thanks for this time lapse explaining your process. We love the energy that you bring with these broad strokes, and how they convey a bit of the fogginess of SF nights. We're fans of your work!
Thanks Louis! I'm revisiting some of my favorite compositions. So glad you love your painting! I was in Paris in October, such an amazing city.
this is so beautiful!
Thanks!
Man Im loving all these time lapse explaining videos. Hopefully you will be always showing the process from now on cause we are getting used lol...I know it's difficult while painting outside I don't want to put pressure on you. But they are great. The car looks amazing btw, they are very difficult to paint.
Thanks Martin! I plan to continue making this sort of video. So glad you're enjoying them!
chamberlainpaintings I have all my notifications off because of obvious reasons but everytime I get into youtube the first thing I check is your channel. Im a fanboy hahaha.
@@martingimenez339 You've been around since the beginning of this channel! Back before Emma was famous. 😂👍
chamberlainpaintings yep in my case I met Emma because of you not the other way around LOL.
I like the corner store better than the earlier cafe.
😊👍
I've only seen a few of your videos so far, but you're definitely becoming one of my favourites. I love your simple and humble approach, both in your technique and in your way of explaining things. Making art accessible to us proles ;)
really like when you started with the underpainting, the contrast looks incredible, all the light source highlights, on the window, lights, car window, far away street lights :) you did great
Thanks!
Amazing! I love your architecture paintings and I want to get better at painting buildings so this was so helpful
Love 🫶🏼this painting…the light….the colors are so beautifully placed
Thanks Dawn!
I aspire to paint like you one day.

Thanks!
thank u dude, i really love your videos. you're an inspiration in my artist path
this is so pretty !!!
It's really impressive how the windows went from simple rectangles to being subtly rounded to suggest the shape of the building. Was really curious how that would turn out while watching. Beautiful!
Thanks Edwin!
this is very beautiful! I have just gotten into painting, and I am very inspired by your art.

😊💛
i love ur art work :)
I have to say I looked on instagram that the light was a moon and was suprised you would paint a sky like that :D
Very nice exemple, good job! By training myself I realise it is difficult not copying every details I see. Because trying to copy everything we see is actually the easiest thing, or let's say the most natural thing we generally do. It needs training to learn selecting what we need to create the impression we have in mind. Too many details might ruin a painting for certain, but symplifying may lead to something without soul and energy. Also selecting means giving up many details that we might find pleasant in a scene, the choice is difficult. It is about being easy-going and subtle at the same time. That is Michael Chamberlain.
This also made me think about what Johan Cruyff said about his sport :
"Playing football is very simple, but playing simple football is the hardest thing there is.”
Thank you Mister Chamberlain for sharing this!
Pierre
Very well said Pierre! Thank you!
I love this painting! There is so much energy !
first !! for the 5th time in a row 💓 i LOVE your videos
wow!
Works really well! I love it! Would it work if you went even darker with the sky?
The sky is actually a bit darker when seen in person. I think it could work going darker as long as you maintain some transparency. I like to have a bit of transparency in my sky. The transparency makes it feel more airy. Like there's open space.
Yes. The screen is not ideal to judge colors anyways...
👍👍👍
👍
I think theses types of paintings are my favorite (the style of painting) what’s the term for this type of paintings?
I'm not sure what to call it. Contemporary realism? 😂
Süper..😍
