The creature with a bunch of eyes makes sense since they probably saw the droid all mixed up and it has eye pieces for the lenses.

I totally agree. They've been using those whip pieces on like everything recently (destroyer droid, AT-ST raider, et cetera). Some red and green and yellow moulded whips would have been really nice.
Maybe if they make a UCS set of C-3PO.
I want a $100 buildable Chopper set, not a $100 set with a Brickhead Chopper and $75 worth of extra parts I don’t care about.

Chopper with the cowboy hat is the best part of the dress up. Chopper was designed and voiced by Dave Filoni and he commonly wears a cowboy hat! (And yes to a big Chopper!!)
My possible theory is that they might drop another trailer for Rebuild the Galaxy where we'll see Bob's Starfighter and use that as the soft announcement for the set. As the Dark Falcon & X-Wing/Tie set were both shown in the original teaser.
The UK Website also did mention Jedi Bob's Starfighter in one of the set description but has since been updated. Either to build up hype, or was a mistake and will be re-added after announcing
Personally I’m so happy the LEGO Star Wars design team is taking some creative liberty with the theme. Granted the new LEGO show is essentially Star Wars what if, but a set where I can build custom droids and give them funny hats or a mustache is FUN.
The shoulder joints on the droids looks wack but I think they were going for upscaled astromech minifigs rather than scale models of astromech droids. With that in mind, the execution isn't that bad, but yeah this set looks like something you can pick up in clearance less than a year from now for well below the retail price.
There are a lot of people that like to build droids in real life. I think those people will love the droid builder set.
Also. Since Lola is at least two pieces, it's going to be considered a minifigure on bricklink

Hello there! Thank you @MandRproductions for a shout out. I wasn't expected this! Btw official dimensions are out and I was wrong only about 2 cm, so quite good imo. It's 38 cm tall and 19 cm wide (got this one right!). Additionally, both Chewie and C-3PO stands are about 2cm tall, so both models will be that much shorter. Still a very good scale. Great video btw, I really enjoy your content! :)
Buildable C-3PO plus the $99 R2 is going to be a great pair on display! Really happy I never bought the bigger R2.
Man I bought the $200 R2 last Thanksgiving and now I feel like a chump lol. If I'd known I could have gotten R2 and 3PO together just months later I'd have waited
I mean, there's benefits to both in my opinion. I bought the 100 dollar one and was a bit disappointed by its size, because I wanted something on my shelf that would have major presence. It's cool, but I bet your USC one looks incredible, a serious display piece.
Oh and also the leg is retractable on your one. On mine you gotta take it off. So, there's upsides to both.
C-3PO will be in scale with new R2, but UCS R2 is in scale with BB-8 (both with no stickers and gimmick inside)
3PO looks good, bummed that droid set has an anniversary figure in it because I have no desire to get that, they knew what they we doing, luckily it’s the figure I care least about, maybe if it’s on deep clearance one day

This droid set looks awful. I wish they would have just done the buildable creature. I just think this was a waste of a set for these droids. Very excited for Jedi Bob and the falcon for sure. Looking forward to the C-3PO also.
I don't get the point of putting an anniversary promo kid leia figure in a set obviously targeted at "creative play" and for kids. She should've been with C3P0 in my opinion
Honestly I think it’s a blessing that they put C-3PO’s wireing as the stickers so if it’s applied wrong it won’t look totally out of place

I think the reason the astromech droid set includes the 25th anniversary figure is because lego knows it won't sell well and is putting it in there to artificially inflate it's sales
Yup. Not sure I wanna play ball with them. Might avoid buying it just to spite them, because it's not a nice thing to do to customers.

If they had a 3x3 version of the circular piece used for the astromech shoulders, it would scale great with the minifigure version.

That droid set makes the ucs assault on hoth seem like a good set.
They probably put stickers on the black pieces and prints on the gold 'cause they know they are incapable of matching brick and sticker colours, so black is the safer option.
As for the other sets... Yeah, they're crap. Just like Disney-Star Wars. And yeah, the droids set is likely aimed at girls. Which is why it'll flop HARD. Both LEGO and LucasFilm just won't get through their heads that Star Wars, despite their best efforts, remains a boys-brand. So the audience for this set is basically non-existent (or absolutely irrelevant, to be more specific).

Given that theres a bunch of r2d2 builds, i think you should do a comparison video with all of them, even the r2d2s that have other things in the sets like the boost and this new one with the four droids

When I first saw this, I thought they were using yellow wheels or something for the eyes. also, I love how they made the one silver leg, that`s a very important detail. It`s also cool that he`s in scale with R2, now that they can get displayed together without a weird size difference.

Why does Lego waste a perfect chance to add a fan favorite character as an anniversary minifigure for young leia?! Why couldn't we get someone else like Hevy or other Sith lords from KOTOR like Darth Sion or Nihlus? It seems like a complete waste of an anniversary minifigure.
Droid set should have been scrapped and LEGO should have just gave us a Buildable Chopper! 🎉

I am happy that they made a creative Set with droids, where you can build your own droid. Lego is meant to be played and to be creative. Its not only to build one set and display it. You build a Lego Set. Destroy it and build a different model or figure with it. I miss the times when Lego was Lego....I am happy, that little kids can play with the droid set with lots of creativiti ❤
Quick reminder that the 3po is to scale with the $100 r2d2, so $150 for a figure nearly twice as tall is a great deal.

The way LEGO puts the Young Leia minifigure (one of 6 25th aniversary minifigures) in the droid build set to force people to buy that bad set, it would have been so much better suited in the buildable C-3PO, especially given that one of the other figures was in the buildable R2-D2 set (Darth Malek). If LEGO had made "minifigure" droid versions of each droid in the buildable droid set, it would have been 1000x better, especially with the new L3-G0 droid coming in the Xwing/Tie Fighter set, then we could have seen a R2-KT droid alongside another Chopper, R2D2 and R2-K5. Instead we got miniscale droids, which are incompatiple with everything else LEGO related and purely for play aimed at children as most people in the LEGO community will only buy this set for the 25th aniversary figure which is a collectable aimed at adults.
Why do I weirdly love the droid set
Not gonna lie, I am a bit annoyed. In 2019 with the 20th ann. figure sets, all of the were normal Lego play sets, and all of them were good at that. With the 25th ann. figure sets, they've already given us a large scale set (R2D2) which kinda breaks the consistency as it's not a play set. See, I want to support Lego, celebrate Star Wars and complete a nice collection, so I told myself I'd get all the 25th figs this year just like I did in 2019. The R2 was kinda pushing it but I got it anyway, and I do like it.
But this Astromech set... Come on, Lego. Think about the demographic that want the anniversary figures. They are older, male fans in their 20s and 30s. Do you really think we want a mix-and-match fake moustache, funny sunglasses type toy? In fact, I bet they know we don't want that set, that we wouldn't even look at it otherwise. So they stick the anniversary figure there so we have to get it if we want to complete our collection. What really sucks is that the C3P0 set is the counterpart to the R2D2 set, so why wasn't young Leia included in that?
I really hope it goes on sale. But 100 dollars? That's wild. Even on sale it won't go below 60. So I might be doing something I really didn't want to do, as that's to buy the young Leia on the after market. And the reason I didn't want to do that is because I actually want to support Lego! 2019 was a win-win for everyone. Lego got money, I got decent sets.

I have one rule. No stickers. I bought Millenium falcon midi, because of no stickers.
I broke it only once. Horizon zero dawn Tallneck, because lets be real, I wont get another chance. But no more exceptions.

I love the idea of the droid set, but I don't plan on getting it. It would make a perfect Christmas present for a kid who loves Star Wars and Lego.
I initially was't interested in the C-3PO, but my resistance has been slowing melting ever since I found out it is in scale with the new R2-D2, which I have.
The set I'm really looking forward to, though, is Jedi Bob.
I'm loving the 3PO and great that it scales. Gift for the Mrs as she has the new R2.

I'm almost certain color matching stickers to the pearl gold bricks is difficult to pull off, hence why those pieces get prints. But on another note, totally agree about the buildable R2-D2s -- I absolutely prefer the newer, smaller one. And with the new C-3P0 in scale, it's the clear winner.

Great video. The Lola droid is way to big. They should have used a smaller piece. I was wondering if I can ask you a question about what the best, most accurate Boba Fett minifigure is for the Original Trilogy? Is there one, or would you have to mix and match arms, legs, cape, etc. to have one?

I think the rebuild the galaxy show has mon calamari clones instead because the whole show is like a mashup.
6:57 From what I can see, I believe the Lola piece they did is a (the best I can describe it:) curved piece like for the bottom of SW vehicle with no hidden wheels for movement which I don’t even has a 1 x 1 piece that exists yet. But still, I don’t think everything from Lego SW will be made in the accurate size
I want them to just remake jedi bob exactly how he was and not make it like "new". and not like lego move 2 sets where they made minifigs looked scuffed up. but lego will probably disappoint me. And What the hell was that other figure?

Just remember that ducks are canon to star wars via the multiple mentions of being Sitting Ducks throughout the years. So the Rubber Ducky isn't strictly breaking canon
