  • Before New Zealand, our experience with anything other than a black tank in an RV was limited. We had seen the cassette toilet in the new Winnebago Revel when we were filming in Colorado, but we hadn't fully experienced what it's like to use a cassette toilet.
    In this vlog episode, Heath gets to dump the cassette toilet for the first time, with my careful instruction of course.
    Also in this episode:
    -Our first campsite in New Zealand
    -The bluest water I've EVER seen
    -And we meet up with our friends Jedd and Michelle from Intentional Travelers!

    Stumbled upon your UA-cam. Very inspiring. Almost felt like I was there, you’re a great team! Can’t remember smiling so much watching someone’s holiday snaps! Very well done!🙏🏽

    I had to laugh at the beginning when she was teary and you say "it's okay to cry" because I JUST got done watching your first video and I messaged my daughter (she is the reason we are taking a 3 wk NZ road trip) and told her I am ready to cry watching the videos because I'm so excited to leave for NZ in a couple weeks.

    My best friend is from New Zealand and I've heard for years how beautiful it is and how friendly the people are. Thanks so much for these vlogs! Now I can see what it looks like before going for a visit. Great job, Heath and Alyssa! Keep 'em coming!

    I love how Alyssa refuses to touch or be near the toilet dumping but dictates perfectly exactly how it's supposed to be done. :) :) :)

    Hilarious!!! There is definitely an artform to dumping the cassette. It usually comes down to how good your aim is, how aggressive you are with the dumping angle, and where the hole is. Per usual, awesome VLOG!

    Hey! I sent you an email, but was told you may not read it until you get back, so I'll post quickly here! I appreciate being able to see New Zealand again; I was there back in 1962 (I'm 60 now) when I was kindergarten, and my Dad worked for Kaiser Aluminum. We actually lived in Sydney, but got to take one trip to New Zealand during our 1.5 year stay. Don' remember the details, just the beauty of the place. My folks have since passed, so I've lost rack of the details, but am stoked to see and here about your experiences. My wife Heather and I will get to go rving for the very first time next week for three days out in Coulee City, WA, about 100 miles from where we live in Spokane Valley, WA. Thanks for inspiring us with your inspiring adventures! Blessings, Bob

    Wow! Those mountain views are nearly matched by the obnoxious paint of Intentional Travelers' rental vehicle. Can't miss that coming down the road.

    Fit RV and Joe from We're the Russo's can't handle a cassette toilet. You acted like a pro-good for you! I am amazed that you picked up driving on "the wrong side of the road" so easily. Good job! Great views and great video!

    Guys one of the most wonderful series I've seen and I must say Thankyou to u. But, if it is'nt much to ask, can u guys do a video on how do u retire a day ? I mean like cooking and showing a dark surrounding, things like that. I want to see How does it feel to be not rotting in a hotel and living a mechanized life.
    Love from Pakistan.

    I am thinking about getting a cassette toilet for my home built rv school bus conversion. I was hoping to see just how you did the emptying. But in reality, the actual releasing, emptying, and reinstalling was not in your video. Can you make another video that will actually show the whole process? Love your video's by the way. Inspiring me as to places I want to go.

      We actually show the whole process in a video we did for RV Love. You can see it here around the 21:20 mark: facebook.com/RVLoveTV/videos/1765108066845611/ I would say it definitely isn't good for full-timers since you have to empty it ever single day.

    I love New Zealand but don't get the cassette toilets. I much rather dump a black tank.

    • @heathandalyssa
      @heathandalyssa  6 років тому

      I'm not a big fan of the daily cassette dump either.

  • @MsClever26
    @MsClever26 6 років тому

    If not for Alyssa imagine the misfortune dumping that cassette would have been. Men just don't pay attention to details🤣 (rinsing & disinfecting the tank after dumping, also avoiding touching door handles with po💩 p hands)
