Can't watch anymore. I don't play jazz, I know nothing about it... but EVERYTIME I watch one of your videos, I can't stop it and I watch until the end. They are fantastic!!! Thank you.
Sorry about getting a little personal, took great courage to respond the way you did, going to really enjoy your new stuff, and those of your friends, really helpful, but best of all, honest, Looking forward to learning stuff, Thankyou.
I thought I knew a lot of jazz songs but I recognized that I don't even know a fifth of the songs you teach; so your YT channel is like a library for me and an appointment every Thursday!!!
I feel like a beginner, but your lessons make sense to me, I have OCD, it used to allow me to analyze, repetitive behaviour. but turned me a little mechanical. what really helps when you explain stuff is that it connects, Not afraid to say it, I take medication that allows me to disconnect a little, so I am not too rigged, allows to be happy an really enjoy music. Thanks.
I was in psycho therapy for many years. One lesson I've learned was, to musically take advantage of what is usually a disadvantage. My PTSD is triggered very easily. It makes me disconnect with the world. I feel alone and disconnected from everything. Even my body parts often feel as if they don't belong to me. I allow music to trigger me and for some reason, it triggers something good. There's a feeling of comfort, when I dare to let it happen. Never feel ashamed for who you are or your conditions! First off, it's not your fault. And secondly, it makes you unique and may lead to creative outcome, that's different, compared to the average Joe's in the world. Art was always dominated by people, who were different.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Thankyou for your candor, I am a painter as well, appreciate your words. to be really honest, reminds of who I am, All good.
Greetings from Canada, just a young man in my 60's, you just made my day in regards to Jazz guitar. I play by ear, as the say, never stopped me from pouring out my soul, thankyou.
Hi Sandra, Looks great. I have learnt three or four of your songs posted and enjoyed learning, but it would be good if there was a kind of 'next level' follow up where the chord melodies could be 'spiced' up with runs and improv. how to get improv ideas etc. :)
Thanks for posting. I learned this song before last spring and used different chord voices. Watching your video and your selection of chord voices has helped me expand my chord voices for this song. Thanks again for sharing
I was so hoping you would be back today, Sandra!! I needed your smile and some positive vibes after yesterday’s sad day of chaos here in the states. I love this Arthur Schwartz classic. I do it in Fm with the trio, but really enjoyed your tutorial👍😄! Thanks for bringing a bright spot, and happy new year!! Stay safe
Hey, Barry! Glad to see you around, my friend ❤️. If you ever get to record it with the band of sites love to hear it. I played it work my quartett too. We had a counter punctual arrangement, which was real fun to play. I followed the news coverage yesterday and was in total shock (but not really surprised, tbh). We can talk via IG DM if you want. I try to not get political here. So many different opinions, I can only lose, lol.
Hello Sandra, thanks for your tutorials! What happened to your finger? To us guitarplayers it is a nightmare to injure a finger to say the least. Get well soon and keep doing what you’re doing!
