CPA Engineering | Adaptive Lacrosse Stick

  • College Park Academy Engineering Signature Program teacher, Brendan McCarthy and his students designed an adaptive lacrosse stick for Stella, a 9-year-old with cerebral palsy, enabling her to play lacrosse from her wheelchair. Stella and her family met with student engineer-designers and receive and test out the device.
    Remarks were delivered by University of Maryland President Darryll J. Pines, a co-founder of the e4usa (Engineering for Us All) program in which the College Park Academy students who designed and installed the device are enrolled.
