    Great extension, Joe. One alternative to keep in mind is to use separate parallel compression for the "shell" drums, and another for the cymbals and/or overheads -- provides interesting control over the punch added to the regular drum track.

    THIS IS GREAT JOE! I just added your fx chain to the drum bus of a house track I'm producing and the drums sound awesome! 🔥🔥🔥
    Thank you, Joe, for sharing your knowledge. We appreciate it!!

    Thanks Joe, I'm a drummer and this has got me going. I completely understand what Parallel Compression is and how to use it now. I downloaded your Killers preset from the cloud to use on our more rockier tunes. I especially like how the split allows for all the drum ghosting and drags can still come through now without going into the compressor and futzing with that left hand knob until I can hear the nuances. Thanks again, brother Joe!

    Thanks Joe! Even when know all of this in S1, I watched it until the end because it was really nicely explained with lot of real examples on the sound plus all small switches and faders in the signal splitter.

    It's also fit in podcast vocal, just insert an EQ before this killer chain, sound become very punchy. Thanks Joe!

    • @presonus
      @presonus  4 роки тому

      Yup. Both can work, but this way lets you do a true parallel process, vs running them in series (one bus using a send to go to another bus). And it's way easier to set up than multiple channels.

      PreSonus Audio Electronics I’m glad you asked buddy. First off when you explode pitches to tracks from impact, each sound goes to its own individual piano roll. Problem is, you can’t pitch each sound up and down in that particular piano roll. That’s why I refrain from using 808s in impact. I saw this feature in the latest Logic Pro X update and was heated 🤯. Also I would like to see the option the drag midi information from the chord track to a midi event. I hope you can definitely pass this on.

    I know what splitter is, but what you do just makes no sense to me.. All that compressor do is turn down the level, so you are not gettting any coloration on drums and you could get the same efect using just compressor with less compression. I could understand if you side chaned some other effects with compressor. Like the drums you hear compressed but the reverb not or the other way around. That would make sense, but this? It just adds overall volume and lowers level on one source of sound. Thats logic, you could dial down your compressor and get the same.

    And... this is exactly what pisses me off in S1. Even if I use split tools function on a channel itself it looks like plugins are in series. They have to address this issue and make it not only functional but also aesthetic. Seems like cut corner here...

    this is the first time i've seen parallel compression done this way in studio one. Would it be easier to use a bus and send to the bus blending in the compressed signal?

    • @AngelAngelesIII
      @AngelAngelesIII 4 роки тому

      Nicks Corsair S1 Tips I think this is much cleaner looking if you’re concerned about overpopulating your mixer but then it’s easier to just grab the buss’s fader and blend it compared to diving into the inserts routing page.
