- There aren’t many big Baldwins around from this time! It’s cool to see one. If anyone has any questions or advice, leave a comment. The organ was put in when the church was new. So around the late 1960s and early 70s!

I actually had this church contact my previous employer (Baldwin dealer) about doing an extensive service on this organ but we were well out of the service area. I had recommended contacting a very reputable technician who was willing to travel but I haven’t heard anything since then. Nice to hear this organ, I’ve never heard this model before!
@@Dansorganmusic I have a friend who’s an organ technician in the area. I’m planning to have him come try it out! Isn’t this an interesting find of an organ??
Call Robert spoon out of Arkansas
@@chasea.williams6025 I might just do that. It’s not a bad sounding instrument is it?
@@chasea.williams6025I had recommended they call Robert after confirming he’d be willing to travel
Robert spoon was the head technician at the Baldwin factory
If it has MIDI you can always get a computer with Hauptwerk software!
I think it is perfect match for North Dakota.
Elliot, you can give this organ a new lease on life.
Wonderful playing of "Immaculate Mary", "Dona Nobis Pacem", "Soul of My Savior" (Please learn the tune by L. Dobici), "Be Thou My Vision" and "The Church's One Foundation".
@@royst.george7328 apparently it’s “best to scrap and replace with a pipe organ” I’ve been told
Robert spoon is the expert snd font of knowledge especially on Baldwin products along with other brands
Well....for being that old ...like myself...😅😅😅😅...sounds 👍...n your playing is 👍
A bad flourescent light ballast will cause a 60Hz hum et, back feeding through the neutral wire, ask me how I know, har!
@@JohnBoyDeere really? Did you own one too???
@@elliot_sander any organ with the old ballasted lights will do that. So will carelessly placed power cables, if they are laid across or too close to signal wiring.
See i like this organ 😭
Just keep playing it all the time and you won’t hear any humming. See, problem solved. You’re welcome.
60 hertz hum. Check all cable connections between the organ and the speaker cabs. Expect draw knob and key switch contacts to need a cleaning and likely all large electrolytic capacitors to be out of spec. That will also cause hum.
Yep I’ll check it out! Thanks for the info Cal!
Are the mixtures working?
Yes they do!
There was one of those on marketplace in South Carolina. It had tongue tabs. The draw knobs were optional on those. Someone else snatched it up before I could. I can’t imagine how I would’ve gotten it into my apartment. The model 11 was quite a job to maneuver in there.
Combination action probably needs a battery. Idont know who would have one.
Maybe time to put to pasture.a lot could the stops on that model. Sell for a good practice or home organ. I don’t sell organs however a good Galante three manual. Remember digital organs are like pipe organs they need tuned after so many years good luck
Sorry, but best to scrap, and replace it with a genuine pipe organ!!
@@user-qt5cm1qf3m Since you have so little of your own, Artifical Intelligence could and should occupy a majority of your empty, cavernous skull.
Why? A million $ only buys a modest new pipe organ today and this is a huge building...
@@miltronix Wow. Prices sure go up.
No kidding, I agree!
Are you going to fund it? It’s 2024, fewer churches can afford a brand new pipe organ…or even a good digital one.
Why not just be happy they use any kind of organ at all? We spent decades talking about how awful digital organs are…now they’re the only thing keeping the profession alive.
These 70’s analogue Baldwin organs are junk - repair people hate working on them because replacement parts are not off the shelf. The sound you are experiencing most likely is an audio issue coming from the amplifiers. -- If this instrument has a MIDI in and out, you would do well to looking to an Hauptwerk digital upgrade. Eventually old analog systems will fail beyond repair.
buy an Allen digital computer organ if you can't afford a pipe lose the Baldwin! LOL!
