Mine that I just bought yesterday was also miss stamped for a bolt hole. I have a hole buttt it’s in the completely wrong place, leading to one bolt physically holding the rack on for the time being. I ordered a welder just the other day this will be the first thing I weld.
I bought one this past Saturday. All of the carriage bolts that attach the cross supports and the two angled supports are same length in the package of bolts and stuff I got.
Had a locking hitch pin in my receiver and couldn't find the key. I started to use a cutoff wheel like you when my neighbor came by to see what I was doing. He told me to stop and he left and returned with a medium sledge. Two whacks of the locking side popped it right off - without damaging it. Because of course 3 days later I found the key and reused the hitch pin later only now without the confidence of it being secure from theft.
Coyote there is a devise that will stop the side to side wobble. I got mine from Woody's Rack Shop in Burlington WA. I'll be out and about tomorrow. Which I'll stop by to get the details on p/n and a distributer its around $40.00 I have it on my Class A RV which I tow a vehicle behind.
I like the square(u bolt) with the plate a lot better, it stops all the verticle and the horizontal movement! I ordered a stainless steel one and it is great!
It’s the harbor Freight branded locking pin I have the same one that isn’t rusted there 9$ with the 20 percent off coupon and it come with 2 keys. So no one steals your rack.
Think I would rather have this 750lb. steel cargo carrier than a skinny 400lb. aluminum motorcycle carrier to tote a dirt bike and maybe some room to slide a cooler, bike stand or whatever on there or just sit on it after a ride while the bike is propped up on a stand.
You're not taking into account the slop you'll get from the folding portion. You can cinch up the receiver portion with a clamp, but other than tightening up that entire folding mechanism, you'll get shift in all directions.
$99 is full price wait for a sale. TBH its still prolly a better deal than anyone elses even at full price. I paid $67 on sale 2 years ago. Havent used it once.
Good video. I ended up keeping all the bolts loose and it seem to make it easier to align all the bolts. No drill required.
Hey it also offers rear collision impact protection

I just bought a reese explorer and it's Damned near identical minus the two support braces underneath and the receiver part
What do you do about the exhaust pipe? The heat and fumes would directly hit anything that is on the rack on most cars.

Dude! Is that a corgi shirt! It ROCKS!
yes it is lol
I bought a hyper tough one and it came with a extra bar and bushings not really sure what are they for.
Does the receiver hitch bar hang down when in the folded position ? I am worried about loosing ground clearance with the folding model.
no not at all at least on mine.
Thank you I just got one video was very helpful!
Glad to learn about the correct side for a washer on a bolt. I didn't know that and always kind of guessed if I didn't have instructions.

Omg. I never thought of that. I always cut mine off if I couldn't find the keys.

Might get one of these now
you can buy an anti rattle hitch pin to get rid of side wobble.

@@stevem1081 Wont stop the slop in the folding elbow

Cool red beard!
That’s RIDICULOUS. 79.99 a couple years ago, 119.99 today
129.99 today 1/22/23 got lucky with a sale though for 99
Just bought mine with a Harbor Freight coupon for $99.
I bought the cargo basket and it seems pretty solid, only complaint is that it seems to wobble a little bit.
Mines a little wobbly to. But it’s not enof to bother me.
Coyote Outdoors after I put some weight on the cargo basket, it didn’t really move around much, so I’m pretty happy with it.
They all wobble. Nothing is right fitting in a hitch. Even hitches are not perfect 2 in receptacles.
@@georgecurtis6463 The solid, non-folding style wont if you get the hitch clamp
yall need that stabilizing U bolt thingy
Nice I didn’t have to drill any holes on mine. I guess I got lucky
I wouldn't buy anything from HF that could be a PPE problem! Like anything that spins or even
is a safety item like arc welding or grinding etc.
Its flat steel with holes. Not too much to go wrong.. It would be user error tightening the bolts.
No man you did not get an unlucky one you got a harbor freight one ...
Hi! Wanted to know where you purchased this carrier for $67?
harbor freight

I saw you had it on backward for the tilt pivot and redid .. LOL
damn, they have gone up in price
I'm on my way to get one in Arizona $99 with $30 off coupon.
On sale for $129.00 here in Maryland (Not including any coupon savings) As of 12/20/23
I wish you could’ve zoomed in on putting on the bolts and nuts. It’s ok you can insult my intelligence! So the washer goes on the bolt side. Hmmmm
He stated $67 but my email shows special price of $99 so WTH??
$99 is the covid-era special price.
