Wish I could give this video 2 thumbs up......or more. Been a model railroader for 59 years myself and it never fails to amaze me how much dedication there is in the hobby still. The nay sayers will try to convince you the hobby is dying. Couldn't prove it by me when I see a layout like this one in the video.

I just met a co-worker with a deep, dark secret regarding large-scale railroading in a past lifetime. So I searched for some images of Ron Keiser's layout and came across this video. Nicely done!

Superb. Your attention to period detail in 1942 is quite remarkable. Well done. Graham.

Ron, this is Larry. I came to your house with my friend Norm from Omaha during the Denver Convention. We both have indoor as well, and you gave us a private showing which we both agreed was the nicest layout we seen at the convention. Your layout looks awesome with trains running on it. You guys did a great job in putting this video together. I am still interested in how you made your leaf trees, they look so real.

Sorry to take so long replying. Some of my trees are from Hobby Lobby fern, others built for me by Branching out Model trees. Some are made with Super Trees by Scenic Express.

4.5 out of 5 STARS - so good, I encourage you to take it the last mile.
GREAT MODELING, well framed, good focus, and great footage. 92% good editing, but a few continuity/editing adustments here and there, would REALLY make this awesome.
    1) Breaks "the third wall" rule several times by showing the modelers. Use that footage for the end credits, after that footage you now roll credits on. Then you could tag the guys as they appear, so we know who they are.
    2) That huge orchestral opening is like sticking a full blown 426 Hemi dragster engine in a MiniCooper. This needs Jeff Beal - not John Williams (who would also score this smaller). (Jeff scored all the Jesse Stone TV movies, House Of Cards, etc.)
    3) I LIKE the lack of music most places (a rest is also a musical note), but the stills are DEAD silent, and need something to keep it moving - maybe a "railroad strum" piece on acoustic guitar, possibly with light fiddle, that could duck in and out. That could make it flow more.
If you don't know a film composer (amateur or pro), and you would go the extra mile with editing this, I'd be happy to compose an original score for you. It doesn't need a lot.
I'm pretty busy right now, but in about a month, I could find time for a "labor of love".
    4) Snow plows sit on a siding in the summer - moving them in a train breaks your illusion. Great model - maybe add a birds nest on it somewhere to show it hasn't moved since the last snow, and as you see it from a train, cut to a slow pan across the plow with a slow zoom into the nest. Then back shot of the plow from back of train moving away. Just a thought.
Hope to see more of your work and more of this beautiful model railroad.
    Thank you for sharing.
