hello doctor, In my mother's USG whole abdomen report of 06/03/2024 , it is written that there's a small renal cortical scar seen at mid pole of left kidney , she's 52 yrs old, is that a serious issue cuz she had 3 lithotripsy procedures in past 3 yrs as she can't pass the stones through ureters and the formation of kidney stones is really fast the stones are composed of calcium and oxalate. In today's report there isn't a single stone so can you pls guide me about this renal cortical scarring.

Mostly it is an age related cyst for which we dont do anything as such. But do keep a follow up with your doctor

You donot treat a cyst of it doesnot trouble you. If there is pain or compression of surrounding organs , only then you treat.
