I'm no hater, but wearing a mask is neither cool nor hygienic for long periods of time. Wearing masks outdoors in wide open spaces as she's doing doesn't help her or anyone passing by. (According to scientists) that being said, I just came for the art and thought I'd respectfully reply to you.
Congratulations. You did an excellent job. You put your easel up and started right away (WOW). This can be exhausting when travelling and putting the easel up right away. I had a blank picture plane for so long , before I started painting and travelling. Excellent. Thank you.
Omigosh yes carrying an easel - no matter how light it is - is tiring! Maybe that's why I start right away, because I'm already tired and want to go back :p
I’ve had my cup easel for about a year now. Love it. I use it for gouache painting. I purchased the additional wooden panel for storing brushes and water.
Thanks for the review. I watched this several times before buying one of these, it is gorgeous in person. I am a complete noob to all art related things. Bought this because i don't have a lot of room inside for this type of activity so I just set it up out in the back yard and try to learn to paint there. I really like it except the mixing pallet is too small for me (probably because of my noobness). The pallet on the right actually has kept my acrylics wet for several weeks as long as the section for the paint was at least a quarter full (i replaced the one like you have with the one that is sectioned off).
Great overview! Thanks 🙏! I just got a cup easel too and have set it up but not used it! Can’t wait to try after seeing you do it! I’ll let you know if I like it!
Thanks for showing your cup easel setup. I’ve got one too for Watercolors and sometimes oils. Your clamp for the camera gave me a couple ideas to explore for adding shade on to my easel. Useful for super sunny days so you don’t end up painting with tons of glare and even worse, your painting looks dark and diff. Lighting. Let me know if youve had to set up a shade before while out sketching on a sunny day. 😎 Thanks for the video!
OHhh yes a shade/diffuser kind of like what James Gurney has would be super useful. I've never done it before, but maybe I should experiment one of these days :) and thanks for stopping by!
This is my first time hearing of the cup easel!! It looks pretty awesome and compact for what it is. I’m kinda thinking about easel options and this is definitely on the list now. If you’re looking for something smaller/lighter though, you should definitely check out the gurney easel!
Stablio is a light weight plien air option you can throw it in your purse going to work a sketch book and a clip on metalccup to side if need like they use for oil painting but st louis art supply has small metal cups perfect for purse size travel..interesting video does it come with out option of glass like say acrylic i think glass is good but the weight is concerning if you have a weight issue of carrying heavy equipment....
Yeahh the weight is definitely an issue! I've been trying to figure out lighter and lighter setups although I find that the cup easel is extremely sturdy when it's set up :)
Thanks! This is the Hong Kong product listing, maybe there's a similar model in your area? www.decathlon.com.hk/en/p/country-walking-20-litre-backpack-nh550/_/R-p-309210
Hi Betty thanks for this video! Just curious as this is a glass mixing palette how you removed the plastic white one from cup easle ? Also, is the model you have the gouache set? Thanks!
Sure thing! I actually just bought the glass one and not the watercolour, but if I'm not mistaken the palettes don't stick to the easel? And for the gouache set, it's this one amzn.to/3tv1reU - I got mine from taobao!
I have this same cup easel which I love. I should go back to using the grey glass again as the custom white plastic insert stains so badly. Didn’t realize the glass was removable, will have to have a second look at it! BTW that little easel handled an 11x14 panel clipped to it very nicely.
Hi Karen, I got this one, NH550 - www.decathlon.com.hk/en/p/country-walking-20-litre-backpack-nh550/_/R-p-309210?mc=8550925&c=GREY hope it helps! They seem to have a lot of models with the bottom pouch, I just went one with two straps on the side to slot in my tripods :)
Mine is the 20L www.decathlon.com.hk/en/p/hiking-backpack-20-l-nh-arpenaz-500/_/R-p-309210?mc=8550925&c=GREY but hopefully this product listing can provide you with the information you're looking for!
Don’t listen to haters- wearing a mask is cool! Thanks for sharing!

The additional wooden panel is a really nice addition to the easel
I think that turned out awesome, you nailed the plants. Those greens just looks great together and adding those brick line finished it off 👏.
We love it when a final detail comes together! Plants are one of the things I am always nervous about, thanks for the positive words.
You got a cool kit and setup.

I really like your painting. Especially, towards the end when your painting seems to be one with the real ledge. Great job!
Aw thanks so much! Painting is really fun :)
Your setup is so cool and I’m stealing you the idea for the insta 360 🥰
Woohoo! I've encountered some overheating with the GO 2, hopefully the GO 3 is better!
Nice video, thank you. I might have to order the cup and brush accessory!
They have newer styles now that are really good!
Thanks so much for the excellent review and painting!
I LOVE rosemary brushes
They are wonderful!
yes, you are correct, a grey palette allows you to "see" the more perfect color!!
Great overview! Thanks 🙏!

Oh yay! Looking forward to hearing your experience with it :)

Thanks for stopping by! Yes, the cup easel is so sturdy, although Gurney easel really beats everyone out of the park with the compactness!
lets gooo!
cool! the easel is made in Canada 😀
Yes! Very well-made too :)

Do you have a link to that camera you have on your cup easel? How long can you record with it before the battery dies?
Great video! Thanks. Which decathlon bag are you using ?

Can you share your backpack model number? I really like the bottom pouch where you can keep the palette flat. Thanks.

Can you tell me which bag you have? Is it light? Size 15L? Considering using it for oil painting with manfredo tripod and Ugo pochade box etc
Thanks!

Look up James gurney his easel is great thanks for sharing
His easel is totally goals! I got lucky and a friend made a Gurney-esque easel for me and I love it
An the back of the easel tilt back a little bit more for watercolor paintings?
Yes, it can go fully flat!
Thankyou! I've been trying to find something small for plain air ,maybe to use on my lap?
Ah! I think Etchr's art satchels (and the mini version) might be a good fit, although I've never used them before.
You might find it easier to work some big shapes by doing some sketches and limiting them to ten strokes. Just as an exercise.
That sounds like a great idea, thanks!
@@beckyisj , and after that, work your way down to three. Then go back to more.
I tried to order one of those and they are sold out. :(
Oh no! I think they still have the older versions, but I do know that they tend to release something around Black Friday / Christmas every year!
QUICK RELEASE BRACKET

She knows her stuff but she doesn't know how to set up the manfrotto tripod
