- I had an unfortunate run-in with a huge female deer in my 2024 BMW M4 Competition about a week ago and I finally heard back from my insurance company on their estimated cost for repairs, so in today's video we look at the cost to repair my precious M4... We also take a look at a potential replacement Porsche 911 Carrera GTS or GT3 with Lyndsey at Byers. We already ordered a Carrera T but could a GTS be in our future!?

I used to live close to the Porsche factory in stuttgart Germany. I could go on my balcony and watch each porsche come out the factory and go straight to the autobahn. Just think having a job driving Porsche all day. I did a tour a few time. Everything is done by hand when building. There was a man sewing the seat covers by hand and had been doing it since was 17. He was at least 60.

Once the body shop digs into it they will find a lot more stuff that needs to be replaced and ask for more from insurance. Happens all the time. You'll get your car back in 3 months....
Insurance isn't using OEM parts and pricing they are using non OEM parts

I was in the $20k-$25k category, but, I thought both headlights needed to be replaced. Which would mean, to me, that you needed that passenger fender, as well. Im glad you got off on the cheap. If that Shark Blue GTS, was at my local dealer, I would be driving the G82 down, and that would be in my driveway. I love the 3RS, but, it would be the GTS, for me. Price doesnt matter, when it comes to a Porsche. And that 992 shifter, we call the electric shaver. I love the 3RS motor, and it would hold its value, better.

That GT3 shark blue does fit you. You really can’t go wrong with either one.
The GTS is more you, because you had a GT3, and that's more of a track focus 911, but it's very nice as well, and it's good seeing your son👍🏾

You don’t have to put a key in all 991s. They could be optioned with Keyless Entry and Drive, which only requires the key to be in the car to start the car.
Yeah I hear am with AAA and I had a couple accident and my monthly payment has double as well as of this year.

Will, just FYI, I ordered a 2024 992 CS because that's the only allocation I could get. Anyway, the car is stuck at a port in Germany because it needs an electrical component before it gets shipped. I hope the Porsche dealer told you about potential delays.

That shark blue GTS is the one if it came with a manual gearbox lol and man your son is TALL! I never noticed how tall he was before, also the insurance company definitely low balled on their price hopefully they approve the real estimate that the body shop comes up with. $299K for that GT3?!?! They must have a $75K dealer mark up on it.. that don’t add up… if you go on the configurator, and do the $15k paint to sample, the $9k carbon ceramic brakes, the $5k race seats, etc… it only goes up to around $260-$265(ish)K…..
It has steel brakes, not carbon ceramics, and shark blue is not a paint to sample color. Also has sofa seats and not the 5k carbon buckets, so it’s even less.😢

If the body shop can show that a repair needs to be made, State Farm will pay. Once parts start coming off, hidden damage may be exposed. I can guarantee that supplements will be made to the original estimate.

You should buy the Shark Blue GTS. They don’t offer shark blue anymore. You can even trade it to MAG for the T when that finally arrives, there are a lot of delays with Porsche delivery, and car season is right around the corner. I have a shark blue GTS Cabriolet that you will see at some point at Columbus C&C this coming year, as well as my paint to sample Gelbgrun (Green Yellow) GT4. Whatever you get, you will enjoy it. There is not a bad one in the bunch.

But the bad thing is that the FAX report is going to show that the car was in an accident which will lower the resale value.

Regardless as long as it’s not total and you stay within your limits you’re only paying your deductible as long as you go to a select service. If there’s a disagreement with a non program shop you would pay over your deductible out of pocket, or for any modifications that did not come from the factory.

Good that they agreed to fix I 100% thought they were gonna total it bad experiences with insurance companies being cheap & shops. I like the 992 taillights but 991 I prefer more classic race car look of how I imagine Porsche should be
I like the shifter for the PDK transmission on the 991. That little nubb thing for the 992 is wack.
I wanted to say if that deer survived that impact it would be a miracle lol! I know were trying to imagine he would make a full recovery but in reality it ran off in shock and died a couple hundred yards away imo!

Since u dont want manual… Wait a bit and get a 992.2 gts. Those are gonna be NA/hybrid. Will sound psycho and have stupid throttle response. Unless you want to tune the car for sure, then get 992.1 because the new ecu will be untuneable worse than the g80

@@WillMotivation gts will have 3.6 high revving NA engine with electric motor inside the pdk. As long as they dont neuter the car with active particulate filters should be easy to swap exhaust and unleash the apocalypse
Will they are not going to fight over the cost of the repair shop will go back to them and let them know there was damage under all the seen damage so the insurance will pay the price to the body shop once they come up with the total cost..

State Farm didnt want to total the car because they didn't want to pay for the car. being . The other thing is you're losing value of the car once it's been in an accident now. If you want to sell your car then it depends on the value of who purchase your car from you. Then I would definitely take the car to a mechanic to make sure something is not internally wrong with the motor suspension. Everything which the State Farm person didnt do. I've deal with them before. Insurance companies never, ever want to pay. You just have to push. I would do widebody

Insurance is required to pay the actual cost of repair. They cannot “pay as little as possible.” Always good to get estimates.
Porsche with the drive mode on steering wheel means it has launch control.. GTS has same size turbo has the gt3rs , compared to lower models that have smaller turbo. That's why i'd get a gts or higher. The button on drive mode gives you a short extra boost.. Similar to what nitrous would do.. Just not as drastic.

Ah, hell.. I have no idea what I'm saying lol. I looked hard into 911 , until a certain UA-camr got a Tanzonite blue m4 that I've never seen before lol... Some where starts the bigger Turbo.. " S " trim I believe now. Other than that, i believe it is the tune that changes in trim.

I have state farm and I'm not sure yet how they are going to treat me but not so optimistic.
Will if you do not have any previous claims then if you been with them for over a period of time you should be ok We used to write with state farm from 1980-98 and have been a Independent agent from 98- current also get at least 3 estimate for the damage from preferred body shop cuz I know there's alot of carbon on the car good luck !! @@WillMotivation

That was my first instinct so I towed it to the dealership and they said they did not have a shop so had to work with a shop I knew that's fast.

Yea no way, state farm chooses lowest rate from a bad body shop. Go to certified bmw shop and the bodyshop should be able to get statefarm to pay 100% with no money out of ur pocket. I have full coverage on my f90 m5 and a guy swiped the driver side. It didn't event look that bad. The bmw certified quoted 23k and even when state farm said they only will pay an "x" amount, the shop still got state farm to pay 100%. What the shop said is state farm scare clients so they can pay less, but I'm guessing it all depends on the coverage. I had no police report and it was the opposing side's statement against mine, I provided photos and the body shop got statefarm to pay even when the claim was still in progress

Yea I had an accident a long time ago with State Farm and yea they doubled my insurance afterwards. But they make almost $18,000 a year off of my policies with them.
