1983 and 2011 are the heartbeat of every indian but i thought 2003 campaign too was really a proud campaign in which we did really well we only surrender against top quality world cup champions but 1996 semifinals 2019 sf and 2023 finals are those which was really the most hurted moments of indian cricket 😢😢
1996 Indo Pak quarter final was a crazy match that I watched as a 7 year old.
If this time also rohit and virat had scored 0 or 1 like 2017 champions trophy or 2019 wc semi final then chokers tag would have been justified but this time they played their part. Rohit did his part gave a fabulous start. Virat played his part by stabilizing the inning. It was the other batsman who didn't stepped up on occasion.

Show some sportsmanship and respect to our legends. They are true winners and this world cup was played well by whole team. In 2019, it was only Rohirat who played and the day when they played bad in semi final, we lost. Of course Jaddu bhai and Mahi bhai did great but is never enough. It is a team game!

Reasons Why India lost!
1) Only 4 boundries between 10 to 50 overs. This is the the main reason India lost. You don't have to play so defensively!
2) Set batsmen threw their wickets.
Kohli was set at 54 little mistake and gone! I don't blame Rohit because he was playing the same way whole tournament. Then comes Rahul 66 runs in 107 balls. He thought to accelerate in last 10 overs but got out in 41.3 overs.
We never come in the mode of hitting only situation. Last hope Surya also failed to score those extra 30 runs in last 4 overs! So all set batsmen were playing slowly and then giving their wickets!
3) This pitch was not for 400 runs total. Do you get this? India played like let's score 400 fastly but it was 300 Runs pitch. We should not have thrown so much wickets in the beginning and played like chasing 300 runs!
Silly Bhajji was saying that Aus made mistake by bowling first but the truth is that Aussies did read the pitch better than Indians. This pitch does play better in second innings, Eng vs NZ, Sa vs Afg are the proofs.
All points are true but i think third is wrong. Rohit read pitch well and hence took on bowlers in powerplay knowing that it will be tough to score later. You remember south africa game? That time also similar thing happened. That time, Iyer performed, today he didn't and except him, Kohli-Rahul had responsibility but unfortunately got out at the wrong time.

This final tbh had nothing to do with which team played better or which team held their nerves well,, Seasonal viewers might think it of as silly excuse , but a hardcore cricket fan will know how different the wicket played in the 2 halves ,,In the 1st innings the ball was reversing, lost all the momentum after pitching(made boundary scoring difficult after PP), if Australia would have batted first they would have faced the same,,, in the second innings with the dew setting in,,, after PP the ball was still coming on to the bat nicely,,, On flat pitches this dew factor gets subsided as it was in the semi against NZ,, but on a dry wicket like that of yesterday,,, victory for the team chasing is inevitable.
Had Australia batted first then they would've set up target of 400+ and India as usual would've collapsed by 200.

Actually it is the same black soil pitch and in the match exactly opposite happened and that is why we won. Dont blame it on pitch and conditions like Mr Gavaskar said on that semi finals day. A champion team can win irrespective of pitch and conditions when it matters the most. Unfortunately Ind didnt stop making excuses and move on

And the second match parallels you were drawing not same becoz Lucknow pitch is not similar to either Chepauk or Ahmedabad pitch. Chepauk and Ahmedabad pitch are both black soil pitches and are two paced so similar outcomes can be expected and more over Aus in the beginning of the WC were very poor in fielding and dropped 6 catches that game and from very next match they improved their Fielding and the results changed after that. Champions teams are the one's that work on their weaknesses and know how to win in the big games which Aus did.
So My question to you then in 2011 WC India won just becoz they batted second as the dew significantly helped India while chasing?
