    Just got mine. It is phenomenal , it will turn on a dime, It is as fast as a super car! Will cover easily 300 miles on $12.00 electricity. I feel like a celebrity, everybody is stopping me and asking questions. Gave a few test drives, weren't they impressed ! Rivian sales and projections have been cut by almost half, because of the fantastic Cyber truck effect. Probably in the next few months as CT production improves the big old trucks from Ford and GM will suffer a similar down trend. Don't buy any truck until you are able to talk to a Cyber Truck owner and possibly even snatch a test drive.

    1) It does feel showy. I love the look personally but would hate the attention it brings

    3) The sharp edges are a concern for the well being of others

    What a cool video. I like that youre going outside what your typical content is for something different. Regarding the Cybertruck and electric vehicles in general, heres my problem and its not the typical green energy debate. One of the biggest current complaints about cell phones, tablets and current technology is the built in obsolescence those devices have. They dont want you to be able to easily change a battery or update it beyond a period because they want you to buy another. Kind of the same with electric vehicles. Those batteries wont stay good forever, it wont be able to handle software updates forever and so on. That Ford of yours, it could go 200 or 300 thousand miles and last for 20 years, electric vehicles, not so much. Then theres the DRM date. Same debate with digital movies, digital copies of video games, and ebooks and so on, you dont really own them, you lease them. Again, kind of the same with electric vehicles. I dont like the idea of having my vehicle constantly connected to where someone thousands of miles away who could turn off a feature in my vehicle that I paid for. Or disable alot of features to push you to "upgrade." Just seems insidious to me. Regardless, cool video. I liked it very much.

    • @sloanNYC
      @sloanNYC 3 місяці тому +1

      Batteries typically just lose capacity over 10 years, not become dead. And we are getting better at recycling the majority of them. The motors should last longer than any ICE, but the weight is still high so while you save on oil changes, brakes, and other maintenance, your tires go through a lot more forces. There should be laws to prevent planned obsolescence for sure. And to prevent the requirement for DRM and tracking... it is insidious for sure.

Tesla removes physical controls not because it improves functionality, but to cut corners.

  • @user-qc9ro5tx9o
    @user-qc9ro5tx9o 3 місяці тому

    CT has Interesting design, but with so many compromizes, poor visibility all around, super sensitive steering in low speeds (you have to be super careful all the time cruising in the city, not to make passengers feel sick etc, absence of stalks etc like looking so poor and cheap and empty inside especially at night with just a big screen in the middle, while even cheap cars have 3d instrument panels that look so much better etc etc, "problems" that have been solved many decades ago by convensional cars.
    In person it looks better i think, but its funny in the videos that most cars around it looking much better, in fact it makes some cars you would not look twice, to look good haha controversial but true...
    Some more negative things i realised from my quick test drive in the States: back passengers sit rather low and the front massive seats with those fixed headrests block very much their view ahead. In all other trucks and suvs and even in most hatchbacks the visibility is much better.
    The electric motor noise is quite loud at any speed in acceleration and in deseleration, which is fun in the beggining but will be tiring in everyday use... and the list goes on and on... still a nice toy for the weekends if you are in the mood trying to fight all these problems which do not exist in almost no other car of today...
    Also it is not futuristic, it is like retro-futuristic.... would really be futuristic if it was made in late 70s or 80s.
    This is my objective opinion, not for me, too much struggle , still an interesting vehicle for youtube content etx
    Curious, didn't you notice as well those negatives, like the poor visibility, the cheap feeling driving this at night time, the sensitivity of the steering in low speeds? (which is good only in parking lots, like 1% of low speed driving)
    The list of negatives is very big unfortunately, i didn't bother to mention many which are common in other teslas too, from the ergonomic point of view, which to most experienced drivers are deal brakers, like meyself.
    Still engineering wise this is a big achievment to really put this design into production actually!

    Interesting video , some valid points , i think if there is a mark 2 cybertruck , that would be a really interesting machine , this first one feels like it hasnt be properly finished off and is somewhat less than ideal for kids and pedestrians. However some parts are cool , the steering being the ace card and the airflow transfer over the bed cover design for improved mileage. Its really not a bad city truck that still works as a family vehicle and still has a big bed and yet is compact , and manouverable , no other truck does all that. If was to pick a truck in the morning id go for the F 150 , for the front trunk alone .
