I was weary of this re-telling of the “Candy” story but I adore Elizabeth Olsen. The acting was masterful - this was much better than Hulu’s “Candy.” I had no idea that Don Crowder ended his life later. So sad.
Betty vs candy scene just gave me so much chills and some negative energy. Really heavy scene but amazingly done!
Never been much of a Marvel fan, but this miniseries totally blew me away as I now have so much newfound respect and appreciation for Elizabeth Olsen. I just cannot say enough about how unbelievably satisfying this miniseries was from beginning to end. Throughout all seven episodes, the aesthetics combined with the superb acting is utterly spellbinding especially with respect to the four main actors-including Patrick Fugit, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe and Elizabeth Olsen-who were beautifully rounded out by the equally brilliant Krysten Ritter and charismatic Tom Pelphrey. I was totally transfixed and engrossed. Of course, I even scarily found myself wondering if I had been on the actual jury if I would have actually found Candy not guilty in lieu of the now infamous 41 whacks. I will say this though. The last episode completely threw me for a loop as I began to feel as though Allan Gore/Jesse Plemons was really somewhat of a creep given that he knew precisely how his wife could be like and that they had the axe in the house. The last episode also kind of makes me wonder if Allan (Jesse) had secretly yearned for there to be some kind of confrontation to eventually occur between the Candy and Betty as he was always being emasculated [Betty], and that he would have also known Candy intimately enough to know about the whole shushing trigger. And the way he also had treated Candy as he became even more emboldened towards the end of their affair, and even his own older daughter and everyone else was really strange as well. And lest we forget about him kissing Elaine in that house? It just really makes me wonder.
I am someone who have been watching horror movies since I was 5. I have seen every graphic thing under the sun, some being real life murders. This series did a masterful job at making the scene feel real. I felt like I was actually watching someone get murdered. Such a fantastic series. Masterfully depicted.
Great series. Scary how quickly so many lives can be destroyed. But now I need to know how it really was.

I wonder if that final scene was what happened in real life, because that’s the one action of Candy post-homicide where I was like, now Candy…the audacity

Solid show. Watched all 7 eps . today and went through all 7 podcasts afterwards. Through each progressing episode I kept thinking I had seen thus story before more and more. Eventually realized I had seen hulus candy when that was first released a couple years ago. Both are solid. This show was probably better overall. But they really didn't attempt to de-prettify the actors in this one at all.
Need more of this, canceled all DC
